Hi,
I flashed the generic UK FTF this morning via Flashtool. All absolutely fine, no errors, clean reboot etc.
No SIM service, and IMEI of 000000000000000
Any help greatly appreciated.

If you want to downgrade from .290 or .136 use [NUT]'s .532 FTF and follow the instructions in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593918
will work every time

you should change the CDA to Vietnam and let PC companion do the job. Never have any problem till now in my HK model with VN firmware
Noticed this rom does not flash the .510 kernal.
I flash the kernal only found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45070025&postcount=389) and everything is now working

What's the mean of "Vroot"? Help me, pls!
vroot is a way to root ur ZU without unlocking BL. Have a look at the thread titled "root step by step" or similarly, page 2, there's a link to download it. But it's in Chinese, and you REALLY have to figure out how to use it, or we in VN call it "đoán mò" ^^

it is a utilities to help you root the ZU. Download link here: http://www.mgyun.com/vroot
very easy to use, just download, install, put your phone on usb debugging mode and enable unknown source, connect to pc, run vroot and CLICK ON THE GREEN BUTTON, and you're done haha.
After that you should install SuperSU from Google Play and than use Titanium Backup to disable (freeze) the Chinese Super user.
I've flashed .510 firmware to my Z Ultra. I got problem, i can't turn on wifi.
Have anyone got problem like me? :crying::crying::crying:

I am curious to know how the kernel was created since I was told that Sony devices will only flash signed images. Does the bootloader need to be unlocked to flash the kernel?
after flashing your FTF i pluged back my phone on the PC and PC companion asked me to update my phone to 14.1.B.1.510 ^^, also can't turn on wifi. Hope after update it'll do.

Yes, this is something like that, and the reason people can't turn on Wifi as well, so I think basically PC companion realise that you installed a wrong firmware, and so propose you to update signed for your device.
After updating phone working perfectly, Wifi turn on and phone really is fast

C6833 Ultra, Debrand to stock Firmware

I have a C6833 and im trying to debrand it, as its currently on O2UK firmware but 14.1.B.1.510. Is there a stock WWE firmware out for this phone or a way to change the build.prop to allow Sony PC Companion to debrand it with a stock firmware.

use flashtool and flash the new one (14.1.B.1.526). Some members are saying they wish they had never modified their region in the build.prop

Will a full ftf file be released or just the small update, I presume it will be the full file so it can flash a phone to stock.

Urgently Need Middle East Stock 510/532 FTF Rom File For Flashing...

I'm stuck on the current 532 Chinese version and it's not letting me upgrade or downgrade.
Been over 6 hours flashing and flashing and I'm having problems with the HK/Asian versions of the stock rom.
Since downgrading from 4.3 to 4.2 my sim no longer works regardless. I'm not getting any signal regardless of what I do.
I bought my Xperia Z Ultra from UAE and would preferably want to use a UAE/Middle Eastern Rom.
Previously I had the FTF file for the Middle East and it worked wonders for me. Unfortunately I've removed and can no longer find it.
Should anyone be kind enough to upload the FTF file or even guide me to a working link I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Oh, it looks like you've lost your IMEI, and that's why you're not getting a signal. This happens when you downgrade from 4.3 to 4.2. I have no idea why it happens, but it does, so follow this guide to restore your IMEI.
the problem may appear in some models. I downgraded mine from 4.3 to 4.2 without such problem.
p.s you can flash any firmware to your phone, no need to be in UAE. I live in Vietnam and I flashed European 4.3 on mine.

True, however, I had issues with the HK edition of the rom. It had some corruption or file missing since it would't allow me to properly root and when trying to boot in CWM it would't work.

Correct, my imei was 000000000000000. I will refer to the link you provided. Thanks.
I've successfully UPGRADED to 532 Middle East version.
Thanks to everyone for their support and response.
Unfortunately I'm not that technical with regards to flashing and such and usually I spend hours if not a whole day trying to solve a simple issue.
Usually when attempting downgrading, flashing and changing roms and using custom firmware I get stuck half way through.
This ends up with a half working phone, boot loops, etc...
This happened when trying to get the 290 firmware, rooted with root. The part with regards to using a dual recovery was not too clear and this resulted in a bricked device.
I'm now back to stock 532, rooted & happy. To be honest, I didn't see any big differences with 532 and 290.
I cannot live without root. My bootloader is locked and unlocking it is a pain in the ass, lol.
I will patiently wait for the proper update of Android 4.4 Kitkat until I decide on upgrading.
I can only hope there is an easy rooting method of 4.4 when it's released. I don't plan on backing up data, reinstalling everything again, etc...
Let's hope when 4.4 Kitkat is released there is an easy rooting method which doesn't require an unlocked bootloader.

On stock .55, if you unlock the bootloader you don't lose things like x-reality. But it looks like with the .402 update, you do. I know monx is prepping a workaround on his custom ROM, so that might fix it. You won't have any issues with different country firmwares, aside from what ron3000 mentioned regarding updates. But you have to relock your bootloader to get updates via PC Companion or OTA.
Just grab the latest version of Flashtool; you can lock/unlock the bootloader, flash firmware FTFs and kernels with it.
And of course .. be careful

can i flash .402 even though...

hey guys, im from the UK and have not got the .69 or .402 update ( unbranded and unlocked ) could i flash the germany .402 firmware and it would have no consequences?
many thanks

Yes! My phone came with UK unbranded firmware and flashed the German unbranded 2 days ago. Works like a charm! Actually I highly recommend doing that ASAP cause the UK firmware is known for getting released 2 weeks later after a new firmware gets rolled out! So you don't have to worry about waiting for future updates...

I'm new to Sony myself, after 4 Samsung flagships.
Anyone care to give to some insights about what to do? Except Untick 'data' under 'wipe' when I get there? I have Taiwan Z2 on .69 which i got OTA from my previous .55
I downloaded this file "D6503_17.1.1.A.0.402_DE Unbranded.ftf" which i believe is the unbranded Germany .402
Thank you!

If I unlock my bootloader, will that wipe the data off the phone?
Edit: actually do I need to unlock bootloader to install the latest firmware?

Yes. unlocking bootloader will wipe the data on the device, so DO BACKUP.
And no. You don't need to Unlock BL to flash Stock ROM. Only to flash custom kernels and ROMs and which is not even always the case

No. Flashing stock won't wipe ur phone. I did so yesterday, with Sony Updater Service (SUS) And it asked if i wanted to wipe or not. I chose not to wipe. And it didn't. Everything working fine till now... Look at my Signature, I also.. Got to be Recognized on xda for Helping Samsung Users. But i'm a Sony Noob.
Cheers!
