Just talked to some Sprint reps yesterday and the tri band Note 3 is coming next month and probably at the beginning of the month. Sprint spark Note 3 March 2014 !

I wonder how much out of packet when try to trade the current note 3 for that?..........

I wouldnt believe a rep from any carrier store as far as I could throw the store....

Only reason I would believe it would be because they did came out with a S4 triband version so never know they might come out with a note 3 triband version.

That's true also but let's see as for me I've grown into having a big screen and well I'm loving the s - pen and mind you I'm still on the note 2 lol but I don't think I'll ever jump back to the regular S line it's either gonna be a note 4 or something like that lg g flex but with a better screen resolution I've read and seen good reviews on it besides the screen resolution which is the only deal breaker.

When one considers that..
-->This s a niche device in a market that Sammy owns,
-->Silicon Valley's reaction to Spark is the same as the customer-base, tempered by believe-it-when-we-see-it,
-->The Big 2 are unafraid of this,
-->It takes years and billions to launch technological infrastructure and deliver it to the masses,
-->Cost-cutting continues with a vengeance, creating a user experience that looks nothing as it did a mere 12 months ago,
-->The balance sheet remains debt-laden,
-->Towers once owned are still leased back,
-->Customer churn rates continue at similar levels Q2Q,
-->Stuffing more Spark-capable phones in the pipeline when the vast majority can't use them makes little sense, unless you think it'll onboard more customers quickly,
What's the endgame? I find it quite confusing, as I can't figure out the differentiator in the marketplace. It used to be price, and a tolerable-to-decent user experience. No mas.
I get that owning bands unavailable to others is an asset, but if they can't be swiftly deployed, we are left with nothing but sizzle, or Spark.
I'd rather have a company that offered decent technology, a clearly definable lower price-point and superior customer service any day.
Instead, we're paying for sizzle for the few that have Spark.

So wait a minute, is tri band supported for the current note 3 or are they going to release a whole new note 3?

No its not supported in the current note 3...
A new model of the Sprint Note 3 would like be required for triband.

More info on the Tri Band Note 3 !
To clarify the manager of the store told me this after I inquired to the rep that was helping me on the floor and started asking questions about Sprint Spark and which phones they had available that worked on the Spark Network. Also I am in Houston Texas which is a Spark Market that just recently became active. They told me they had begun pushing firmware updates out to the phones that were capable now and that the LG G2 was one of the first ones and the HTC One Max. They said they were rolling out the updates in waves of an undisclosed number of customers at a time. I guess maybe they are just doing it in areas that they activate Spark in but I am not sure about that. One thing that I do know for sure is that I will be getting a Spark capable Note 3 if and when I see one ! They were however definitively confident of there statement on this matter so I really think it will happen in the very near future. Why would Samsung update the S4 and not the Note 3 that would not make any sense. Especially since they will be selling these two phones even after the new ones come out just like they do now for a cheaper price than the latest and greatest. They also said they would be phasing out the single band LTE version.

Oh my little gullible padawan .... You will learn with time we don't believe anything sprint says until it happens ...I was supposed to have 4G a month after I got my HTC evo 4G wimax and same with epic then the evo3d ,epic touch then the galaxy s3 , galaxy nexus , note 2 , now note 3 and I have finally got some 4G .... believe me when we are a little hesitant to believe any thing that sprint says ... We have been down that road before

I'm perfectly happy with my current Note 3 LTE. Even if the Sparks Note 3 came out next month, can you imagine how long it will be before your area even has that capability in the tower? You would see complaint after complaint of "when is Sparks coming to my area"? "I have the Spark Note 3 & the rep that sold it to me told me that "it's coming soon" so I got talked into buying it....yada-yada-yada...
I'm less than 6 blocks from an LTE tower, but 2 blocks away from a 3G tower, so coverage here is outstanding...data & voice.
Give it a few years...two things will happen. 1. A newer technology will come out making Sparks a "thing of the past, now dying"
2. It'll take about that long for completion of Sparks technology, so you'll lose interest in it by then.
Unless you live or work in a MAJOR city, there's slim to none chance of making it work for you.
/By the way, what do you even NEED 40 or 50 Mb downstream for? Streaming high-def only requires about 6 Mbps & good LTE easily delivers that!
/My rant is over. NEXT!!

Even though I haven't read every page of the NA leak post, I've read quite a few posts that say it is enabling spark. I think that many people aren't in an activated area so they can't test it. I might be wrong but I'm thinking that the current n3 can do spark. I will just have to wait and see when an official kit Kat tar comes out. I'm pretty sure spark is active in my general area/market.

Still worth it or wait for Note 3?

Hi all. I have an opportunity with an upgrade on my line and I was wondering if I should just wait or grab this bad boy now.
That is up to you my friend if it were me I would be too impatient to wait for the note 3 but we both know that the note 3 is going to be extremely intense.. even though the note 2 is already pretty damn intense as it is.
I personally see myself keeping this phone for two years or more ((the technology in the note 2 will hold up)... Correct me if I'm wrong.)
So I think it boils down to if you can hold out for the note 3 or not. if you can wait, Hell I say wait. but I coildnt... Lol

I am a smart phone junky!! I in a 3 month period I've gone from iPhone 4S to galaxy s3 to iPhone 5 and now I want the Note 2 lol. I have zero patience when it comes to waiting for new devices to come out. I know the note 3 is going to be an absolute beast but I have to say the note 2 has me itching to buy it this weekend. How is your battery life? I should also mention I love carrying 2 smartphones. I just recently realized there are more people like me lol.

I always say I'm going to keep a phone for 2 years and I can barely last 2 months. I'm going to get the note 2 and deal with getting the note 3 at that time. Now that Verizon is starting their 12 month financing program starting Sunday it will be much easier to get my devices now. I have an ipad, iPhone and android tablet all within arms reach right now.

I absolutely love my Note 2, but I don't think I could go any larger (as the Note 3 is rumored to be). Any bigger than the 5.5 inches that we have now and I tihnk it will be awkward to carry in the pockets of normal clothing.

I called today to verify and after waiting for the rep to do some research he came back and said that it is indeed happening. There are a couple of requirements though: 1 account has to be in good standing, 2 there can't be a balance on the account, 3 you have to specifically ask for this financing program. I was also told that you can even add a phone to a line that is not due for an upgrade because you will be financing the full retail amount of the phone so I don't believe you will lose your unlimited data.

Well that was terrible advice. I know the frequency at which android devices hit the market and I would hate to spend full retail for something that wasn't worth it. I was just curious is all. I know each device gets better with each release but sometimes that isn't the case. Not all android devices are privileged to getting future updates and by worth it I meant any major design flaws that would make waiting a better idea. I was expecting some to say "don't get it because ......." or buy it because .......... " I don't know much about the note 2 and was looking for input from the forums.

Verizon Note III Received?

This is a thread for people to post when they receive their Note III. I have one Preordered on Verizon but just put this thread here for people to subscribe (did not get mine yet) - when others post when they have gotten their Note III maybe that will help pin down when they start shipping.
I've never preordered, I've always got it release day. Hoping I get it a day or two early. Thought the other thread got a bit off topic and a little harsh.
I played with the AT&T one in store and I hope we get root and can bypass Knox counter.
I really was pleased with what I saw, but I don't know if I can have a phone I can't root or mod... been doing that since the old Windows mobile days, then with android since the HTC incredible, nexus and n2.
Well... here's to waiting, cheers...

I live right behind a verizon store... and verizon has a thing about having a solid cell tower for the store... it sells phones
So sitting in my back yard... I have this... all day and all night

Sitting here, tapping my fingers furiously waiting, waiting, waiting. Hoping it does ship early. Thinking of sending my GG watch back when I get my bundle though, but can't wait for the GN3
Just pre-ordered mine through Verizon today. Decided on the black one without the Gear watch. The employee said that they might get them a few days early like they did with the two previous models. I don't know how good his word is, but at least it's something to hope for. When the phone finally drops there's going to be a lot of happy users on these threads.

Thats impressive ping on that test, you say thats a verizon tower? All the towers in my area the pings are over 100ms, usually between 110-130. Theres a tower in my backyard as well and i get the same speeds but the pings are bad to me. I done a speed test recently on one tower and got 56mbps down and the ping was 116. The at&t network in my area has pings half that of verizon, their network feels faster to me because of that. ( I had to remove the image from the quote, forum rule, I dont have 10 posts yet.)

Don't know about the sim card, but those Spark-ready Samsung phones are scaled down from a hardware perspective, save perhaps the S4T supposedly hitting the market in a few weeks. That for me was a non-starter.

I urge you guys not to. My buddy bought one and the screen resolution on it combined with screen size was MISERABLE. it would easily give you a headache. Remember the old CRT monitors? That's what it looked like compared to my Note 3. Also had noticeable lag. Seemed like a 2 year old phone with a giant screen.

Outstanding news and welcome aboard!
Articles like that were a big influence on my decision a few weeks ago.
For a while I was stuck in Nexus 5 or G2 fantasy land, thinking that I had to go triband (I'm even in one of the early triband test markets), but couldn't get past the no external media and sealed battery bonus features (mentally tried it, decided it was a nightmare).
But when I read an article in the Kansas City newspaper covering the Spark unveiling, taking about lukewarm reception to this cool new technology by tech reporters in Silicon Valley, due to Sprint mentioning that it was coming soon, vaguely soon, I went with what I felt was the phone with the best specifications on the market, for my needs.
Plus, this phone is fully triband capable. I have incontrovertible proof, I just ain't sharing it.

Love the size of that thing. the only thing that stopped me what the series of the phone (note>mega) had more support and Mega (hardware) was like half of the note 3 (hardware) (dual core, ram)

How dare you attempt to hinder from a man's desire to buy something for the stated purpose of giggles.
That is an inspired purchase decision, and it has been the motive force behind millions of iPhone purchases for years. That's my working premise. That, and they are shiny. Larded in this fact-based speculation is that "shiny" and "giggles" are identical in meaning.

LOL! So true though. I want to just own the biggest (Note II- that's basically what it is...isn't it? dual core, 16gig, but 6.3" screen) phone while I sport the biggest+powerfull Note III for personal use.
If it doesn't have microSD no worries, I use sshdroid pro to transfer my files via wifi... and these new phones have the dual 2.4ghz/5ghz I believe.

(Possibly) Coming Soon - Baked ROM

So guys hi for those of you who know me and those of you who don't. Tomorrow I am due to pick up a new phone for an upgrade at Best Buy. The Galaxy Note 3 is by far the biggest and best phone I have seen specs for. Prior to, I was a device maintainer for Team Baked on the Nexus S 4G. I was doing research as to find a device I can assist bringing the Baked Rom to. According to This article, Cyanogenmod will be releasing nightlies for this device and include open source. This in turn opens a door for our team to do what we do to provide this fantastic rom on this device. I look forward to try and serve you guys for the next few years with listening to feedback and see what we can do to ultimately make this the top inverted running machine you can get your hands on. My team's webpage is Here
Look forward to it

I want to apologize ahead of time because I kind of jumped the gun out of excitement. It is really going to depend when I get to best buy what kind of deal they will be giving me for this device, because as far as I know through Sprint, it will be $350 unless Best Buy has this phone on sell. This phone is my 1st pick, of course, but if I don't end up getting it, I will be getting the LG G2 which is on sale with an upgrade for $50 so fingers crossed and I will change the title of this thread to Possible, I apologize once again ahead of time.

Man don't get the g2. I had that device for a month before it came out. And then some. LG is having nothing but problems with that device. The n3 is 10 times better.

I understand that but it all comes down to money in the end, money I don't have at that and getting a new phone compared to the refurbished evo 4g i had a few weeks ago is a lot better. I would really like this phone but I thought the phone would be completely free for upgrading and it unfortunately might not be, regardless, if, when we start development on this rom again, whichever device I get, this device should get our rom even if I am not the maintainer for it.
I got the note 3 from best buy for $150 bucks.. not bad i say
CM11 all the way.
Radioshack has an online price of $300. Just ordered mine yesterday. You have to call the number listed for the price though, they don't list it on the website. Not on the mobile site anyway.

Some of your going to be disappointed but I got the LG G2 the Galaxy Note 3 wasn't on sale the Galaxy Note will eventually get baked but we're taking one step at a time and right now there's issues with the CM 11 nightlies. Galaxy Note 3 is behind on open-source should receive updates within the next couple months

Did you even read that yourself? The problem is not Triband LTE devices, but rather that the Sprint network is not currently upgraded enough in all places that currently have LTE.

Note 3 has no problem getting calls in Phoenix while on lte and the LG G2 and nexus 5 etc have lots of problems . Plus say you are downloading a 1.7 gb rom and get a call on a LG G2 it will fail because it disconnects you from lte to re connect to cdma ... When sprint upgrades all towers to circuit fall back it will still suck to have only one path for data voice etc .... I used LG G2 for a week and gave it to my nephew . I am not saying it's not a good phone but on sprint right now it's not a good phone

I agree with you somewhat on the previous statement but also the download just pause on incoming call and then you could resume it later so it would still pick up where you left off biggest problem I have is trying to get baked fully working because the CM 11 nightlies are not fully there yet and that has to do with the switching of bands so on the cm 11 nightlies you can't make a phone call or send mms on LTE yet

[Q] Band 26/41

Ok guys, so I have a Sprint Note 3 (er duh lol hence the forum lol) and anyway, I read ALLLLLLLLL those pages about the Note 3 being LTE single band blah blah blah blah some think the single antenna can support multiple bands, some do not, etc etc etc etc.....my question is this: Can it HURT anything to try enabling these two bands in IOThiddenMenu and has anyone already tried?
Edit:: Forget I asked, just close the thread: It just takes and unchecks the box after I check it, so I'm assuming the hardware just isn't there henceforth the software won't enable something that doesn't exist. Oh well, it was wishful thinking! lol
2nd Edit:: And now for my first post I feel exceedingly stupid! lol

No way bro, it's there, Sprint and Samsung just gimped the device by omitting a firmware update, which it just so happens exists in the wild. We're getting lit up shortly. @freeza has already seen the icon on his device.
Let's get this thread cranked up

Oohh damn!!! That's sweet!!! Well I'm ready! Can't wait to lay hands on that! Idk if the local towers are transmitting on those bands yet for me personally but I'm sure they will be in time! So the determination then is that our devices ARE triband just minus the firmware???

Yes the firmware updates are not going to magically turn this phone into a triband phone .... There are no triband lte with simultaneous voice and lte .... That's why the nexus 5 LG G2 etc have circuit fallback troubles. .. This phone is single band lte and no magic will enable band 26 and 41 ...

Yeah, but the triband tribe does sort of become tiresome quite quickly (definitely not referring to you and other owners of this phone, see below).
I never understood how folks get a groupthink vibe going on a completely different forum (not even Xda for goodness sake), exchange high-fives, buy their triband phones, then come over here and drop their strange mix of sagacity and pent-up rage. It's nothing but weird. To go out of one's way to go to another thread, lug proof coated with the patina of credibility based on some dude's reading of FCC test docs, lace it with bravado, and to top it all off, they don't even own this phone, it's kind of nuts in its own right.
If someone is happy with their phone, why bother if others think their phone has a feature yours has? To speak in absolutes, talk down to others like they are all bleeding idiots, and keep coming back is just too much.
People whom bought this device long ago knew the trade-off, and were fine with it. Others thought that the feature might be there, just not available, so they speculated. You do that every day when you engage in political discussions, read the Op-ed page, or go to Bible study.
I say live your life, engage in healthy discussion, and throw in your thoughts into the mix. Cross the line to knowing more than your fellow traveler of life, I'm a gonna throw some bait your way.
And I'm not talking about owners of the device. I'm talking solely about those whom don't own this phone but come by here and inject their venom into our garden.
I hope this clarifies.
And just for the record, this phone is fully capable of delivering triband. You just have to wait until January 29th at 15:00 EST

You'll note that every post I've made on this topic has some variant of that. It's my bat signal for the triband crowd to come in and call us idiots and get all angry.
If you hook your note 3 up to this you'll get every band of lte ever thought about. .. And even the 5g that South Korea hasn't even built yet
