My DNA battery has gone crazy. Last night the battery was at 66%, I restarted it and the battery went up to 76%. Today, the battery was at 33%, I rebooted it and the battery dropped to 17%. After that I rebooted it again to see if it would go back up and it dropped to 14%. So I did it one last time and that battery then went up to 24%. I dont get it and on top of that my battery life has been terrible recently.
To try to extend it I have installed Lux to manage the screen brightness, I have turned off backup and Google Location Service.
I got Nova Launcher yesterday to see if that helps, I'm using Greenify to close apps and CleanMaster to get rid of junk. I dont use Google Now or have any apps sync/receive notifications besides Messages and Phone. I can't get through the day and I don't use my phone from 7am to 12 in the afternoon.
I have 25 apps installed from Google Play and all the bloatware and useless apps disabled. I use Next Browser instead of Stock/Chrome
Any solutions or suggestions

Maybe just try to do full cycles with the batter to re-calibrate it, charge it up 100%+ and drain it 99%, rinse/repeat a few times.

Ive read that you arent supposed to drain the battery and this phone is unpredictable for when it will turn off from a low battery.
Sometimes it turns off at 8%, sometimes it might turn off at 2%

You're right about draining the battery however we cannot fully drain these batteries. The system shuts the phone down when it hits a certain level, however you can still power the device back on after it does this, thus the battery still has charge and not fully drained.
And yes they can be unpredictable.
Mine will shut down when it gets to about 5 percent but I was using it one time and it went from 8 to 2 in a second and powered itself down. I think they all act weird when they get really low but your issue sounds like the battery is on its last leg.

According to your battery stats, what's draining the battery the most? Also download GSam battery stats to get a more detailed look at the apps and services that are consuming battery.
Maybe your battery is past its prime, but you want to be sure its not an app or service draining things before giving up.
My Droid 3 and 4 are still going strong as long as I charge them fully and then periodically drain them to 10%.

The phone was freshly charged overnight. I was using the internet while listening to music through (3rd party) headset and since the 3G signal in the building was kinda ****ty I switched the phone to EDGE (GSM only). Then I quit the Settings menu and opened Firefox, tried to load a web page and at this point the phone froze. I'm not sure if I restarted it or it restarted on itself but after the boot the battery was showing about 40% less. So I turned the phone off, pulled the battery, rebooted, same reading.
I used the phone for a while after that and now it's showing critically low battery and I'm wondering what should I do now?
Is it really so low on battery or the reading is wrong?
Can 40% battery disappear just like that and what could cause it?
Should I charge the battery or let it discharge until it turns off by itself?
Battery screenshot attached.
Perhaps a battery calibration issue caused due to the crash, my advice would be to drain the battery all the way down to zero and let the phone turn off, remove and reinsert battery and proceed to charge till full and then turn the phone on again. Hopefully issue should be a one-off and now resolved.

happend to me before on my htc desire hd..battery pulled and battery stats dropped down the gutter..just let the battery die and charge fully or even just charge it up to 100% from where u at now..doesnt matter it will fix itself...
My phone was doing the same thing, it was rebooting or shutting down two or three times a day, usually a few minutes after taking off of charge.
I have sent it back for a replacement.
Do not drain the battery to zero. There is not reason to go belox 10% charge, as you could damage the battery if going to 0. These are new batteries much smarter then old ones.
You don't need to drain to zero but it won't do any harm if you do. Probably a wee softwre glitch. Wouldn't get too worried about it.
a good option is battery doctor - its a free aplication from the market...
let your battery go down to 20% and then open the app in charging mode...let it charge(dont close the app during the charging process, just keep it open)...woallla.. u have made a full cycle charge - easy as that...
I have the stock 4.5.9 gingerbread update on my AT&T ATRIX. However I am observing a terrible battery life. There are too many solutions in the forum to follow. Can someone direct me to the appropriate one? I am rooted and unlocked. I used the unlocked 4.5.9 sbf for upgrading from from Froyo to gingerbread 2.3.4

there;s a lot of solutions because poor battery life can be cause by many things, you have to find out what is draining your battery. try calibrating first let it drain until your phone turns off and then if you have cwm install then wipe batterystats and then a full uninterrupted charge
Try setting profiles in SetCPU and freezing apps with TitaniumBackup. Theres a topic for each of these two solutions.

this is just terrible .. i never had such battery life with Froyo. i dont understand what might be the problem. Meanwhile i will try to calibrate my battery.

Calibrate your battery.
Then freeze your bloat.
Problem solved.
dont forget you might also being playing with your phone a lot more trying to see all the new stuff in the update. Thus causing more battery drain.

There are some strange things happening with the battery. I let my battery discharge completely to the point where phone shuts down. Then I plugged in to charger, waited for 2-3 minutes so that I can start the phone. Started the phone and saw 50% battery. Don't know what's going on.
I was told by an admin from another site that most of the battery programs do not work with ova ginbread. You go to settings/about/status and observe the battery. I do no I was also getting flaky results with 2 of the battery programs.

That's a GB bug... there's a battery fix in the development section to flash which deals with the reboot battery jumping. (turn off phone at 50%, turn on phone and it says 70%)
I am having problems with my Atrix too. With my usage, I used to be able to get almost 3 days of battery life. Now it hardly lasts a day. I have checked pretty much all settings (sync, sleep) and all seems fine as far as I'm concerned. So I am having hard time trying to find what is causing this. The only suspect I have right now is wifi. I don't think wifi is sleeping even though I've selected "When screen turns off" in the sleep policy.
Hmm...well, this is the second time that this has happened in the 2.5 weeks that I've owned this phone. I'm currently running unNamed ROM 1.2.0 and noticed that my battery is draining quicker than usual (8%-10% drain per hour on IDLE).
Usually, my battery drain is between 1% - 2% per hour on unNamed. What I've noticed in both the instances where my battery drains rapidly is that I end up seeing 'Core Apps' (white envelope with android icon in the middle) under the Battery Usage. From what I can recall about this icon, it's the icon for the launcher. CPUSpy shows my phone at 78% deep sleep (the phone's usually around 93% - 95% deep sleep when in idle).
The first time this happened, I was away from home on business for 1 night and ended up having to power my phone off when it got down to 11%. Got home later that day and recharged my battery while the phone was off and after the phone was 100% charged, it lasted 38 hours with 7% left before I powered off and recharged. Again, the battery with light usage lasted 30 hours with 30% left.
Today, after charging (while off - seems to charge better this way) I was surprised to see that my battery was draining at ~10% per hour and I saw that 'Core Apps' was listed under Battery Usage again.
Fortunately, I am not away on business this time (yeah, my spare charger is on the way) so I can recharge teh phone at home. Is the only way to "reset" the phone's battery usage history by pulling the battery or charging the phone?
Hopefully, one of the devs can answer or provide a fix/workaround for the 'Core Apps' drain? (BTW, I leave my WiFi on all the time and my phone still lasts anywhere between 28 hours to 40 hours...just wondering why I have these sporadic glitches when the battery doesn't seem to last long.)
From my experience... this will be very hard to fix. Usually appear ramdomly, and disappear randomly.

Yeah...the 1st time it happened, I was wondering "WTF is 'Core Apps'?"
Now that I've seen this the 2nd time, I'm stumped by it since you're right...it doesn't happen often and doesn't seem to be reproducible by any consistent method.
Hard to do a battery pull with this Neo Hybrid case (case is a PITA to remove) and I don't have my 2ndary charger yet...
Rebooting the phone does nothing since the battery history remains and even powering off for an hour and then powering the phone back on still doesn't clear out the battery history so the drain continues!
Oh well...it is what it is then I guess...I was hoping that someone smarter than I could find a way to cure this. (BetterBatteryStats doesn't show this as a wakelock (partial or full)...CPUSpy just that my deep sleep state is in the mid to upper 70% which isn't the norm.
Oh well, hopefully, this doesn't happen too often.

But a few have reported their phone doesn't behave right in reporting battery percentages after wiping battery stats.
Doesn't mean you can't. But no one has proven it helps.

I haven't had any issues that can't be directly linked to something else (like random reboots).
If all you want to do is reset your battery useage screen to zero it definitely does that. The point isn't to help anything, just to reset the screen to zero without having to wait for the phone to charge all the way.
In that case not a bad idea if you see it show up. If it's as bad of a battery drainer as it seems and still running, it should show up again pretty quick after you clear battery stats.
It'd be useful in reading the logs to know that at a certain time it was for sure running.

Dunno, it's just odd...recharged my phone last night and now I'm back to 1%-2% battery drain on idle and the phone's going back into deep sleep at 93% and I haven't touched any of my settings. I just let the phone dip to 19% and powered off and put it on the charger for ~4 hours (I know, I could've pulled it sooner since it wasn't at 0% but honestly, I forgot.)
It's just the weirdest thing...whenever Core Apps appears as the envelope w/Android icon it seems to be persistent and stays in the battery usage. However, there have been times when the Core Apps appears as teh same icon as 'Contacts' and will disappear on it's own after a while. <-- This seems to be okay as the battery drain remains minimal.
I'll have to check out Entropy's battery drain thread later to see if I can gain any insights. (Haven't ever flashed any of Entropy's kernels as standalones -- I've just been flashing unNamed ROM so I know the kernels are stable builds and not the experimentals.)
Ive been having a weird battery issue. my battery gauge will say its at 15% or whatever it says at the time. ill plug it in and like 10 minutes later it will say 100% battery is fully charged. Obviously its not 100%, even when I charge it overnight, when I unplug it itll be stuck at 100% for like 2 hours then all the sudden drop to like 85%. im lucky if my battery lasts 12 hours now , same thing has happened on different roms. Do I need a new battery?

I'd try a different ROM/Kernel, see if that makes any difference (after clearing batterystats in CWM).
If that wouldn't help, I'd say battery is ze dead.

tried differents and kernels, and wiped battery stats guess my battery is done
try "battery calibration" app. it helps me a lot, and keep my phone running longer. i can last almost a day with medium use.
i have also tested with on screen non-stop (wifi + online game that require wifi, brightness roughly around 30%, medium volume, with whatsapp and talkbox in between), in conclusion, i can run for 4hours plus straight with sufficient battery left. i never push it through, i think i can go for 5 hours if i want to.
battery calibration app can be found in play google store
Worst battery life evah!
Im having issue with my battery as well, I plug it in a electric outlet for about an hour last night and when i saw the charge, it was only like 49%!!!!
And today, before my meeting it was like 22%, after an hour of meeting, BOOM! EMPTY BATT! What I only did was surf and checked my calendar!
It charge slow! And its draining fast!
something happened to my battery before last month, when i charge my fone it says 88% then suddenly after few mins 1 or 2 it become fully charge, but when i unplug my charger it comes back to 88% again, i tried some apps like battery calibration and also i'm wiping the battery stats in cwm everytime i flashed a new rom and it helps my battery charge in normal and accurate level...i'm using also cpu spy to checked if my fone is going to a deep sleep. now my battery lasts for 1day 11hrs with light usage. but for heavy usage i've got 40% after 4hrs of continious hd gaming.
I have an Atrix 4G running Neutrino 2.9 EE, with a new battery I bought only a few weeks ago because I thought my old battery was dying. But I'm having the same problem with this one. I can't get it to charge past 70% or so, and the charge seems to drain very quickly, about 1% every 15-20 minutes. I checked the battery usage, and Phone Idle is taking up around 60-70%. I've got wifi off, the screen turns off after one minute, and the brightness on half. I'm really at a loss as to what's causing this, so any help would be great.

Try to use all battery till your phone turn off, when charging again go to recovery and clean battery stats, rebbot and charge to full battery, see if your bar go to %100, i install battery widget and have an option for motorola phones, enable that option, that help me a lot,
Good luck!!!:fingers-crossed:

Battery drain issues, it seems, are as varied as "My car is making a noise that goes like this: ____"
Do you have the battery calibration app off the market? A full charge is 4200 mV (or really close to that value), regardless of what percentage your phone is displaying.
If your phone is getting up above 4100 mV, then the battery is fine. You can trick the phone back into displaying a more accurate percentage for a while, but it's not permanent:
- Charge the phone as high as it will go
- Shut the thing off and pull the battery
- Plug in the phone, wait for the question-mark icon to appear
- Re-insert the battery, let it sit for a few minutes (10? 20? no magical number here)
- Turn the phone back on. Percentage should be a lot closer to 100%.
If you're getting a decent charge but the battery is genuinely draining quickly, well... all I can offer is my experience from this summer. My major symptoms were:
- Losing an entire charge in the course of 8-9 hours, but ONLY when wifi/mobile data were turned on
- *Extreme* phone lag when wifi/mobile data turned on. Every single app would force close. Not fun at all.
- Checked what's using the battery, and "Contacts" was responsible for ~5% of the charge.
After six weeks of debugging hell, wiping, reflashing stock, etc I found out my contacts were nonstop-syncing (and duplicating, and duplicating, like rabbit offspring) on one particular email account. Killed the email account, got a functional phone back. Battery life returned to normal. All that to say, one misbehaving app (even a stock misbehaving app) can trash the phone's performance.
If you can stand it, try returning to something completely stock and not restoring any of your apps/data for a few days.
