@rajneeshk Wait patiently... Mediatek cannot forever continue with JB 4.2 because if they do so people will stop buying their devices. They will have to release kitkat to make their hold on the market.

Alright. I have done a good bit of cleaning of a bunch of posts making references to a version of Kit Kat that you will need to donate to receive. If someone wants to stoop so low as to only offer that for a price, then I can't stop them, even though it is all sorts of against the spirit of open source. What I can stop is any discussion of any kind that is relating to any "for sale" ROMs or kernels as it is not allowed on XDA.
Do NOT discuss this on XDA and please report if you see any discussion about this sort of thing so it can be dealt with. Do not get into an argument in the forums over it, just report it and move on and one of us will come take care of it.
Cheers!

Android 4.3

Can anybody port the leak of Android 4.3?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Android 4.3 leak is design for Qualcomm SoC. Galaxy S3 runs into a Samsung Exynos 4 SoC. Without documentation about it (by Samsung), no chance to port this ROM on Galaxy S3.
Sry !

it is just hours since the release of that leak. though it is for S4! to port it to S3, it takes lots of time and lots of developers brain. don't just hurry buddy. waiting for sometime is better than hurrying.

CM does not support dual-SIM devices yet. So not easy to port it. Hopefully, a solution will be found soon.

[Q] Android 4.4 KitKat

Hey there I'm curious to as if our devices will support android 4.4 KitKat because it includes the new API ActivityManager.isLowRamDevice() ... and that it would work on 512 Mb RAM ... What do u think ... and will there be any development for our devices
KitKat
Chck This link it says Kitkat is designed to run on low memory devices which has 512 MB ram.. So will it possible to run Kitkat on our Devices.http://developer.android.com/about/versions/kitkat.html
i think someone will probably port it for our device if developers gets kernel support and technically yes kitkat is designed to run on 512 mb ram devices

I had doubts say that the kernel used for CM10.2 by mikeioannina could be ported and used for KitKat would it run on that ??
Do you mean that xperia 2011 will get updates to Kitkat?

I'd like to have KitKat on my Live, but I doubt Sony will give us an update. I can only see the 2013 lineup getting KitKat.

Then its niceeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Super but....
I doubt that it will work perfectly on devices with 512 MB RAM:silly:
Kiktak should run well on our devices. maybe our devices are to old, but not very weak. I have the nexus 5 kitkat port on my nexus 4 and it is running very well and uses much less ram, even with a couple of apps running in background it is not taking more than 350 MB (previously android 4.3 was taking somethimes 700MB).

No all of the devs will not. We have banded together and decided that there will be no kitkat for the Vibrant.
Just be patient we all want it too and will get it as soon as possible.
