Years ago I made the mistake of buying the S2 plus unstead of the S2 and I have regretted it since. Just no good support from official or unofficial site.
Now that the CM team has decided to officially support the S2 I would very much like to flash CM11 onto my GT-I9105p, but I am unsure if it will work. My understanding is that the GT-I9105p is identical to the GT-I9100 except for NCF. I do not care for NFC would not mind if I loose NFC capability.
So my question is: Can I flash the latest official CM11 nightly onto my GT-I9105p?
No you can't.Completely different hardware.

Really? As far as I can see the hardware is identical except for NFC. Where are you getting your infos from?
I9100 = Exynos chipset
I9105/P = Broadcom chipset
You were saying ? (But please, don't let us stop you bricking your phone)

I am not sure where you get this from, as I DO have an I9100P and I do run CM 11 Nightly (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2634693)
I am not sure about the I9105 but the I9100P I am 100% sure is a Exynos chipset.
Also have a look here for info about SII models, just scroll a bit in the OP and you will see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822447
but again nothing about I9105, best bet is to download Cpuz from play store and run that and that will show you 100% correct info as I do not have an I9105.

Thats why i said to use cpuz to confirm on a I9105, as i do not know for that model.
But for the I9100P i am 100% sure.
i9100p -s2 with nfc
i9105p - s2 plus with nfc
to check go to settings/about phone
pretty easy i think
It is actually my girlfriends phone now, but I will check it using CPUZ next time I get my hands on her/it.
Also I think I remember (and this is why I asked in the first place) that some people reported successfully running the CM11 rom on their GT-I9105P.
We will see...

Hi all..
So as it's mentioned in the title, i have a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830I will the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 be compatible with my phone?? i can't see a difference but an "I" letter!
I think they are the same in specs and "i" stands for india.
That's an i or L?
If the letter is i (S5830i). This phone has diferent hardware and isn't compatible with S5830. So you can't use ROMs developed to S5830.
If the letter is L (S5830L). This phone has same hardware than S5830. The only difference is the bands (850/1900). The L means Latinamerica.
The S5830 has bands (900/2100). Generaly from Europe.
I doesn't stand for india. It has completely different hardware. You can't use Ace ROMS on I version.
S5830i and s5830 are different s5830 roms can brick s5830i.
Sorry for my bad engllish xD

^^ What he said.
As I understand it, the "i" version has the following differences (and probably more):
- It's chipset is totally different so using S5830 firmware / roms etc WILL cause problems, probably bricking (or so it's been said many times). The non "i" has the Qualcomm MSM7227 and the "i" model uses the Broadcom BCM21553
- It's cpu is different (Armv6 @ 832mhz) vs 800mhz for the non "i".
- Contrary to common belief, it DOES have a gpu (onboard the cpu die)
- The "i" model runs bluetooth v3, not 2.1 as with the non "i" version
- Judging by the specs available on the web, it has SLIGHTLY more ram (about 5mb)
- It has updated firmware / battery life / cpu usage improvements blah blah blah
I've read many threads where S5830 owners have flashed with S5830i firmware etc and have bricked their phone right off the bat.
They're basically the same phones, but also totally different on the insides.

I'm no expert but according to system-on-a-chip.findthebest.com, the Qualcomm MSM7227 was released in 2013, so how can the 5830 have it?

Hi all.
I am going to buy a Samsung Galaxy SIII. But the problem is that there are lot of fake versions around the market.
So my question is, Is there any particular method/secret code to identify original Samsung Galaxy SIII vs Clone/ Fake Samsung Galaxy SIII.
Thanks.
Price is the first giveaway, but suggest you grab a photo of the insides with back cover off so you can compare.
Check imei on phone and box
Check firmware version, kernel etc in settings/about phone.
Check memory capacity in settings/storage
If it's cheap it's either fake/stolen/has problems
Use 3 button combo to boot into recovery and check it is stock 3e recovery
Check download mode and system status etc.......that's all I can think of now, will edit if more comes to mind.
Obviously check all hardware, camera, sound, gyro if you can, etc
With this apk you can be sure, if your SGS III original or not:
Galaxy SIII Identity v1.0.3
or here:
GS III Identity : Real or Fake

I would suggest you to wait for s4 or go for any other model which has 2GB RAM....buying S3 at this point of time is not a good idea.

Got the following output from the apk you provided. I don't know maybe I'm just being paranoid but isn't the CPU supposed to be quad core arm v9 or something like that. Saw this one here is a dual core arm v7. I was able to put it in download mode and installed the JB 4.1.2 Stock rom with ease.
Reason for my worry is that this phone is very slow, my Galaxy S2 performed better than this even when I installed the Official Jellybean ROM. PLEASE HELP ME

3. I don't know but may be it has the same hardware

your point 3. is the problem. it would need the same cpu, but there is still confusion which cpu it has. On the samsung site itself it is only stated 1.4 ghz quadcore, but that could also be a qualcomm.
but in the german shops it is stated as exynos 4412, what would be perfect. (but they could also have misinterpret the informations about the cpu)
so patience

any link for that test?
I've followed the whole archiport thread, and afaik no one really tried it has it could still potentially have a qualcomm/other exynos cpu what would result in bricking the phone by flashing it. and as long there are no detailed technical informations about the neo it will also not happen that someone tests it.
Well I saw the box of the Neo, and it has a 1.4Ghz CPU and not 1.2 like some say...
Edit: on this unboxing video the box is white and it says 1.2Ghz.
I saw a neo that my friend bought, it has a blue box that specifically says 1.4Ghz!
weird...

Impreza thank you for making me rest.....I've been surfing online finding answers if that tablet can be rooted...please let me know if you guys found more info..thank you
Bought this thinking it was an upgrade from my Galaxy tab a 8.0 but since it's one ui core it's missing many features. Trying to trade it in now but it's past the 15 days. There's no smart view to mirror to any tv easily, theres no network file manager in my files (can't access G drive or any others).
Just make sure you know what you're buying. It's not lite because of being smaller than A7, it's a stripped down OS and the features can't be installed afterwards (have tried many apks). I didn't want a big tablet, wanted a mid size tablet with upgraded CPU.

I agree with that. If you are sure you know what you're buying, the experience of the A7 Lite isn't bad. One UI Core is the same stripped down OS in the regular A7 (Snapdragon 662) and in the A7 Lite. CPU works very fluid if you tweak some settings (default One UI animations are awfully slow). Battery lasts A LOT (8,5-9 hours SOT). Smart View was removed and changed in all One UI devices with the upgrade to Android 11/One UI 3.0 (regular and Core), and it was replaced with Google Cast native screen mirroring (ergo Chromecast).
Use Solid Explorer or Amaze if you want to access network file places. It works well on my side.
Despite being a Mediatek tablet, you wont't find anything MTK-related in the tablet. Samsung has its software very well masked. And I think that, in Helio P22T, Mediatek vulnerabilities have been fixed with security monthly patches.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that I successfully rooted the tablet using the same method for the Lite as the regular A7 using THIS GUIDE. Obviously it tripped Knox but I needed it rooted for my use case. One note is that when you download the stock firmware with an application like Samsung Firmware Downloader, make sure you choose the correct Model and Region. These can be found in the settings on the tablet.
Is it possible to enable Google Discover for default launcher?
I bought Galaxy Tab A7 Lite LTE SM-T225 3/32GB and it works quite nice. Small and good device. Would be cool to see on it clean Android or LineageOS (fingers crossed). There is not too many ~8 inch tablets today with the latest Android version.

I've been working on porting TWRP for AOSP Android 11 to this device but have run into some roadblocks.
I currently have TWRP running but touch is not working and I can't seem to get Data R/W with the current tools available. It's possible it's an error in my build or maybe a workflow problem.
If anyone out there with more experience is doing the same or wants to help me sort some things out, please let me know.
I purchased the SM-T225 LTE 4/64GB model, a good device, but there was a problem on the latest T225XXU1AUH5 & UI3 firmware, specifically with a modem... after the end of the call, the mobile network disappears, and after rebooting Baseband Unknown Flashing does not help, only resetting the data helps, but before the next call... The device had Root rights, but is now installed stock firmware and blocked the bootloader, but the problem remains... At the same time, if you install the old modem UDA,UE3,UF2 , it works without problems... Has anyone encountered anything like this?
My only disappointment is that knox is included. I came from tab A 8.0 2019 which has no knox

Why they stopped production?
Anyways hopes are not all down as you can flash a GSI (generic system image, searchable on google)
And also, galaxy tab original P7500 also have it's production stopped, and now, it gets android 8.0 unofficially
Well i will call it a mi 11 lite lite 5g as it is slightly tuned down.
But from xiaomi's trend most likely it will be called 'mi 11 lite 5G reloaded'

Unofficially to make room for Snapdragon 888 on production lines. Because is used in many phones and is very requested , 780 was used only in Mi 11 lite.
I'm saying that since number of sell Renoir is low, the possibly of a custom developer to have it is low . I hope I'm wrong since i have this phone.

Is there released kernel sources?
If yes then if someone decided hey I want to donate my phone to a dev then we may get custom ROMs. We may also get blind- builded
custom ROMs.
If no sources, we won't get custom ROMs, same as the 20 dollar mediatek cheap phones.
Damnit, I bought this Xiaomi phone in the hope there will be a custom rom. My Redmi 5 got excellent rom support. But reading that sales are low and to make room for other Snapdragon soc's makes me not optimistic.
My Galaxy A50 that I used for 2 years also got no rom support, but that was mainly because the security in Knoxx. I got used to that.
The Lite 11 4G version of this phone have a few custom roms! Why the 5G not?!!
GSI is enough nowadays. I added patch to phh-treble and works good

Over a month before you asked this many news sites had posted about the chip shortage, why 780G phones are so rare and why manufacturers like Xiaomi are going to circumvent the problem by switching to 778G.
Xiaomi will release the new Mi 11 Lite NE 5G tomorrow, using the 778G produced by TSMC using N6 unlike the 780G which is produced by Samsung using 5LPE.
