My S4 got basically fried today by the charger, but I need to restore it to stock so that they can't claim BS when I take it in for warranty.
I tried search to no avail, what is the newest STOCK ODIN TAR image to restore the S4 like it came out of the box?
Thanks

There are plenty of places in this forum and in the Development forum with directions for returning to stock. Including the post that you just replied to.
Search, read, and learn.

The thread I linked has all of the information you need. Do the full wipe option and your phone will be sparkling clean and unrooted.
Not to be nasty, but there's at least four threads on page one of this forum that ask the same basic question.

Yeap. Done. Had issues with Modern Combat 3 lagging in Singleplayer. Hmm, btw, any guides to unroot? Just in case I needa claim warranty
Good man
If you ever need to unroot, in case you have to send the phone in for warranty service or whatever, find your firmware in this thread or if you can't find anything specific to your carrier use the most recent one for your country from here and flash in Odin.
Do a factory reset just to make sure there's no apps laying around on the phone that might tip off whomever repairs it (Samsung) that you've been running non-official firmware on it, and get a jig from eBay to reset the flash counter (do a search for "Samsung Galaxy S2 jig", costs a couple of bucks).
Not sure about the MW thing as I've never played it, hopefully someone else might come along and offer a hand (Maybe change the title of your thread ?).

If theres any award for XDA's most helpful member, think you deserve it. Thanl you so muchhhhh. Really appreciate it
Awwww You're much too kind.
No worries, as long as you read up & follow the instructions for flashing a rom/kernel you should be able to handle things just fine, and given you nailed the CF Root thing first go without any dramas (which is a pretty fair effort, a lot of people who post here seem to have problems with it ), I'm sure you'll ace anything you have a go at

Thanks. Anyway, flashed my official :
DXKL3
Firmware info
PDAXKL3
PHONE: DXKL1
Date: 15/12/2011
Android 2.3.6
MultiCSC Package (GLB, MM1, SIN, SMA, STH, THL, XEV, XME, XSE, XSP, XTC, XTE, XXV): http://www.multiupload.com/AK0TGH6WXX
DXKL3 Stock Kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/PY2EJTIQ2E

But erm, its still rooted
Flash the kernel on it's own. Hard to say why the kernel didn't take when you flashed the full firmware.

flashed the tar.md5 file. Am i suppose to remove the .md5 and change it to tar?
No. Don't have to remove the md5 bit. If you've tried flashing the kernel on its own in the PDA section of Odin as per my last post, try re-flashing the entire rom.

You downloaded & flashed the "official" firmware as per your post on the first page, didn't you ? If you've already tried flashing the stock kernel as I'd suggested & that didn't unroot your phone, try flashing the whole stock package you downloaded again.

Ok, im on stock rom. What I did was to flash the kernel for root. Firmware wasnt touched. So, erm I have to reflash the entire rom. Any links I can refer to? I'm from Southeast Asia - Singapore
I gave you the links to official firmware on the first page. Yes. I told you how to unroot the phone on the first page with those links :-| I'm not going to tell you which firmware to flash, you should be able to work that one out yourself given you mentioned your original firmware on page one as well.

Yessir I did.... I found a solution just now.
First of all let me say I'm sorry to even have to post this. I've looked and I'm sure this question has been posted a million times. But a lot of it just looks like Greek to me.
I recently bought a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and found later that evening that it was rooted.
It's running Hyperdrive and the latest version. Also has a TeamWin screen.
I'd really like to unroot it and return it back to bone stock. But I haven't had any luck finding the firmware or instructions on how to do so that a new guy could totally understand.
If someone could give me a step by step and where I can find the stock firmware, I'd be forever grateful.
Thank you for reading this and I hope you all have a great day!

I figured it would have removed the root access and the TWRP recovery and leave it in a mostly stock state.

Ok a friend S3 started acting up I didn't back up so I lost anything
When I tried to put back the original firmware on the phone using Odin for no reason at all will it be installed. It will just stick on Nand writing in the bottom part of the screen and nothing on tp part of the screen that would usually show FIL, PASS etc.
Next thing with some other firmwares the blue loading bar on the phone will go to basically 100% but nothing will happen on the phone
I did get on 2 firmwares, one just kept booting to the Samsung logo then go in a revolving boot sequence with the animation coming up, the other firmware I got on seems like it belonged to some other phone company and after their boot screen comes up and the Samsung's logo come on the screen it will just stay there.
In both cases the phone was left after installation on both screens for hours with no success.
All I want to do is put back on the 4.12 JB T mobile version enter unlock code and give back to my friend
Can I get some assistance please thanks

Take out the battery and post the model number here.
Factory reset to get past the forever spinning Samsung logo. The Odin fails are probably due to incorrect firmware.

I've been trying to get a firmware for that. And how do i get it to the point of factory reset option?
thanks

You should stick to that forum before someone doesn't read this thread and answers with a link to our firmware which will brick your device.
It should be in there somewhere. Did you read the stickies? Like aerowinder said, all tour future questions need to be posted in that forum. We know very little about your device here.

Well that forum is specifically for your device. Use what you find in this forum and youre destined for a brick.
If you were to ask this question there you would get answers from people who are familiar with the device you have. Ours is very different.

According to this you are working on an International i9300 S3 I will move your thread to the correct forum as to not confuse other users here, or have someone here give you the wrong links to software that may brick your device.
Thread moved.
The op can post what the problem is here please if its an I9300 .
I9300 Basics read first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344125
Critical you read the first two posts .
Basically, I was getting rid of bloatware using Ti backup and I had accidentally deleted the NFL mobile app without any back up. I tried to be clever and re-download the app and try to put it back as a system app in hopes it would work, but it only came up as something like "UA-XXXZZZZXXXX" replace the xs, zs with digits.
I want to update to the latest version of firmware but don't want to brick it.
How would I go about taking the latest update without bricking it. I'm open for full ODIN root methods if possible.
Thank you I'm advanced.

You are in the "Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" forum. On the toolbar there's a house icon followed by "Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4". Click on that to go to the parent forum of this one.

Hello everyone, I hope that you all had a good 4th. So, I meant to say, I am running Stock SS w/ root. 4.3
I've never used ODIN with my phone, I asked about the zip because some of them you can use within the recovery partition to system wipe, but how would I go about it through ODIN? Thought I'd be better safe than sorry for this operation.
IIRC the Hyperdrive ROM has the Hyperdrive Hub app that lets you download the bloatware separately from the ROM if you wanted. It has the VZW bloatware zip to flash and the Amazon bloatware zip to flash, but you could always just use a file manager to extract the apk you need and push it to /system/app

Read the thread I pointed you to, as it explains that you must use Odin and how to use it.
There's plenty of YouTube videos explaining how to use Odin, if you're really lost. However, this is pretty basic stuff.
