[Q] [SOLA] No internal and external SD - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello.
Yesterday i flashed Carbon ROM. Before this rom i had SlimJBs where i had the link2SD app working ok.
After flashing the Carbon ROM everything was OK until the time I unmounted my external SD, pluged it on my pc and format it to FAT32 and re-insert it to the phone. From this time the card wasn't identified at all... So i rebooted the phone. Now the external AND internal sd are gone. From CWM i can mount internal SD ok with all the files included but if i try to mount external sd i get error. I reflashed the kernel via fastboot but nothing changed. Unfortunatelly i reflashed the rom again with full wipe, etc. . Again nothing changed. I reinstalled link2sd but it cannot detect external sd. Can anyone help me with my problem. Of course this problem is not caused by the roms. Btw, both roms are amazing!

[Q] Custom ROMs and SD card

I have used some custom ROMs (2.2, 2.3) on my X10, but none of them recognizes my SD card. The stock ROM (2.1) reads it properly, it is visible when I connect the phone to the computer via USB using the stock ROM.But when i use a custom one it says "Please mount SD card..." on Storage Settings and the computer recognizes it as removable disk, but it shows that the card is empty.I've tried cleaning all types of caches, full wipe, mounting/unmounting the SD card and formatting it with xRecovery and changing different basebands.
Is it a ROM bug, or I am doing something wrong?
Please check that your SD card is formatted to FAT 32. If not, the ROM won't recognised it.
Your SD card is probably partitioned.
Custom ROMs for X10 only recognise the second partition on an SD card,
meaning if you have one FAT32 and one ext2 (ext3, ext4, etc), it will mount the second and thus won't be able to read it, so you'll get an "SD card corrupted" message.
You need to wipe and erase the second partition with the same program you used to create it and it should work fine on any custom ROM.
I wiped the old partitions and then formatted the SD card to FAT32.Now it's recognized properly by the ROM.Thanks to both of you!!!

Formated SD card now cant connect to computer PLEASE HELP

So I checked the settings in the ICS and saw something like clear/format the internal SD I don't remember exactly.
I pressed the button.
Now I cant connect the SGS2 to the computer it just shows me 2 unrecognized partitions.
From recovery in the internal SD card there are 3 folders of the system.
What to do?
Maybe flash a stock ROM?
since you have formated your internal sd, you have a blank drive, since the external sd card depends on the internal.
You need to flash a new rom using odin.

[Q] Internal SD damaged - How to rescue? How to fix?

Suddenly I get this error in the notification bar:
Damaged SD Card - SD card is damaged. Try reformatting it.
And the SD card is not mounted. It's the internal one, the USB storage one I guess.
My external SD card works fine and is being mounted.
This is a huge problems since a lot of apps doesn't work when there is no internal SD. Swiftkey can't find it's languange packs, Gallery and many other video/image apps also fail etc.
If I reboot to recovery and to install zip from sdcard, I can see both my internal and external sd card. So recovery seem to be able to mount the internal sd, but android itself does not.
Now, I could format it, but I would like to at least be able to back up before I do, which is a bit of a problem since can't take the card out and use in a card reader and I can't get android to mount and share it either, even though recovery is able to mount the card just fine.
1) Does anybody know why this has happened?
2) Does anybody know how I can backup the contents of the internal sd, even if I can't get android to mount it?
3) Does anybody know how I any other way of fixing this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Rom & Kernel plz? :silly:
Also, Not really sure about this but I have a far reminiscence of having read somewhere that you can actually access your folders through USB from CWM once they are mounted. Please someone confirm this because I may be speaking bull****; otherwise you could try to backup your data from your very same computer.

Flash latest Siyah kernel (if you're on ICS/JB) and then boot to CWM. In mounts&storage mount USB storage and connect pc and phone via usb.

Sound like it's a problem with your card. Is this problem persist after reboot? When android detect error with card/data block it remount that card with read only option.

i have done the same thing what you have posted but if there is a problem with my external sd card then why i am getting the same error for my internal memory..and i have also formatted my internal and external memory and flashed too with plane plain stock rom but the problem persist

I don't know why your internal SD is also read only. Did you try to format external SD on PC with card reader.
And if this problem persist please try to remove that sdcard from your phone and see if your internal still get readonly or not.

One time i have formatted my external sd on PC with card reader and internal memory with cwm and when i get that error again i formatted my external sd from my phone....and again the problem occurs then i flashed my device with stock rom v20h (Europe open) then i again pushed cwm on it and rooted it... and the problem persist after removing the sdcard also....

[Q] Can't Mount External SD No Matter What

I received a GT-I9100 from a friend a while back, and I rooted it and installed Slimsaber's Kitkat ROM. Everything worked fine. Then I decided to install CM 12.1, Netflix didn't work, so I downgraded to CM 11. I noticed that I could not longer read the external SD card. What was weird is when I am in the OS and the micro SD card is in, I can't read the internal and external SD (file manager showed they were blank). If I take the micro SD card out, I can read the internal SD card just fine.
Whether using TWRP or CM recovery, I also could not mount or format the external SD. So I got frustrated and decided to go back to Slimsaber. Problem still persists. I decided to wipe/format everything I could possibly wipe, including the internal SD card and start over, reflashing Slimsaber, etc (I even installed the Slimkernel). No go.
What is going on? I just want to get the external SD mounted so I can load my gazillion mp3's and use them on our 2,000 km road trip. Now I'm stuck.
I forgot to mention that after Slimsaber and before the first Cyanogenmod ROM, I decided to repartition my internal SD (I was tired to running out of room for apps). Is it possible that something got all screwy with mounting the external SD after this? I chose about 4 GB for my internal SD (I think it was 2 GB before). I used this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...es/mod-partition-internal-memory-app-t2538947
Can someone please help me get this working? I don't care if I need to wipe/format everything again. At this point it doesn't matter. I'll do whatever I can to get this working again. However, I *do not* want to go back to having a small internal partition again. I need those extra couple of GB's.
I tried using Odin to flash the original partition, and then I flashed Gustavo kernel with CWM (like I had before). But I can't mount USB, I can't sideload a zip file (adb), and I STILL can't mount the external SD. So now I'm completely stuck, except for using Odin. I flashed the 4 GB partition again (since it made no difference going back to the stock 2 GB).
What do I do?!
*Edit*
I was randomly able to mount USB and transfer the ROM files... but I still can't sideload with ADB, and when I'm in the OS, I still can't mount USB.
YESSSSS. External SD (and internal at the same time) is now working!!! I had to revert back to stock ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-26-12-flash-stock-firmware-rom-t2365701
I still have my 4 GB partition too. Up next, I am going to root it, and then install Slimsaber, and see how that goes.
I decided to install OmniROM since it was reported you can mount everything just fine (http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...-cwm-recovery-can-t-mount-sdcard-restore.html). So I did, and everything works fantastic! At least, so far. I can mount internal and external SD cards no problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/orig-development/rom-omni-t2562055
