Hi to all...
First of all, sorry for my bad english...
I've brought a YIFANG M-MP722I or better a MEDIACOM 722i, this Mediacom is an italian company who sell this cheap devices. I presume that it brought cheap tablet from china and then apply its logo...
BTW this MEDIACOM/YIFANG 722i has these spec:
CPU: Cortex-A9 1Ghz (mediacom website say that it's a 1Ghz but the packaging report it's a 1.2Ghz)
RAM: 1Ghz DDR III
GPU: Mali 400
DISPLAY: 7 inches
Front camera 1.3 Mpx
MEMORY: 8Gb internal.
No GPS/Bluetooth/3G
OS: Android ICS 4.0.3
This device come with some horrible apps pre-installed and no market...but it's pretty fluid and I brought it for 85$
-----------------------------------------------------
I've installed the Play Market that works well and recognize my tablet as YIFANG M-MP722I. Many apps are compatile like NOVA 3, Max Payne, Gmail and many other not like Youtube App...(the one preinstalled is old and it's better to navigate via browser).
I'm pretty satisfied of this device, the only disappointment it's the horrible resolution that makes small fonts hard to read.
Now that's my problems/questions:
When I use a browser many website are showed in desktop version. Google in desktop version, forums in desktop version, even gmail, just youtube is showed in mobile version. I've tryed firefox, the preinstalled one, and opera mini, nothing happened...I can't view mobile version of the website I visit..That's pretty annoying.
Another thing that I've notice is that some app like Opera mini show a REALLY GIANT interface, like the smartphones version was enlarged for the 7" I think that to guarantee the compatibility for many apps, this tablet is recognized by Play in some odd way. I can't install simple apps like a Weather but I can install Dead Space =_=
So I think I have to edit the build.prop BUT my device isn't rooted.
And thats the question...Can I try rooting this system with some tutorial for similar device (same CPU/GPU/RAM) without risk the brick? Or you can advice me some? I know that I can brick with ROM but I'm not sure about Root.
Of course If I could installa a cooked ROM or CM9 I could be much more happy but I prefer to trust your advice..
Thanks a lot in advace
I really like to explore this cheap device

What is this rom? It's an official rom or a modded? Where can I read something about this?

That ROM is the official from Bq company, they assemble a tablet which if is not the same as the Mediacom, it's very very similar. It's called Bq Pascal II. This is the site: http://www.bqreaders.com/descargas-pascal-2.html
If you to try unofficial ROM development for the Bq Pascal II, try this site: http://www.htcmania.com/forumdisplay.php?f=673
Good luck, and if the ROM works on the Mediacom, keep me posted.
I'm sorry, but how do you attach a rom a different device? The risk of doing **** with this procedure is remarkable. I do not recommend anyone to try this update. It 'self-harm.

It's the same device, just different brands. Like my Fujitsu M532 / Siragon 4N / Pegatron Chagall.. typical in chinese tablets
Try to root Mediacom 722i using this guide http://www.androidiani.com/forum/showthread.php?t=218836
It is written in italian, but it works 100%!!!! In fact i have now a rooted tablet i hope now in custom recovery and ROMS development for this device

Any developer interested on this tablet model? Now it can be fully rooted, but it hasn't compatible CWM yet... it is the only Mediacom model without custom recovery for now

Why do you need CWM Recovery? IMHO everything can be done with it...

Sorry for my stupid question, but i don't understand what IMHO means...

Anyway 722i model isn't upgraded by Mediacom to Jelly Bean, so i think a CyanogenMod ROM build for this tablet can solve, helped by custom recovery...

and about new ROMs, some guys at htcmania.com managed to create some custom ROMs to this generic tablet, can't remember if it is Cyanogen or not, but they don't need CWM Recovery to install the custom ROM, so again it isn't an issue.

If you post a link, i'll be grateful, even if anyway i think this tablet really needs CWM

Java is pretty much useless for developing CWM.
The online version would be fine, problem is trying to flash it.
And I no longer have a BQ Pascal II / Mediacom, so my best advice for you is to go to htcmania.com forum and post there for help

On a italian forum, Androidiani, some developer thinks there is a issue regarding incomplete Amlogic kernel sources, so we maybe will wait for very long time for a working CWM

Hello all. I have quite the situation that confused and infuriates me.
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 off of Ebay and it came from China and I'm having issues with signal so i want to update the firmware. Been reading a bunch of forums to find out what i need to do and they all say i need to enter "download mode" by pressing the home button volume down and power button while the phone is off. I do so and get a response but it brings me to Factory Mode instead. I have read other methods on other forums no of no result. The only different response i got was when i held down volume up and the power button while the phone is off and I got a picture of an android robot on his back with a red warning sign atop his stomach. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Here is a list of more detailed information about the phone:
Model #: GT-I9300
Android Version: 4.2.1
Baseband version: MAUI.11AMD.W12.22.SP.V8,2013/04/16 20:10
Kernel version: 3.0.13
Build #: IMM76D.I9300ZSALG3
Custon build version: 1366770086
I think you got a clone.

What exactly is a clone and what does it mean for my situation?
A clone is manufactured by a company seeking to profit from Samsung market position, so they sell a cheap imitation which might look real but doesn't function in the same way and contains different hardware.
It means you shouldn't follow any guidance in this forum or attempt to flash any files, all things here are only for the genuine i9300 and will break clones.
Best search Google to identify your clone and find possible solutions.
Confirmed you do not have a Samsung I9300 phone its a fake .
their is no information on this forum for you try Google search for fake/ clone SGS3 .

Never ever ever ever ever do that you'll brick your device which makes (in some cases ) completely unusable

Hello guys new to the forum just a quick question. I want to know if u guys can give me directions on how to flash my note 3(verizon) to page plus or if I should just pay some cell phone store 50 bucks to do it for me.
Thanks in advance
In theory, any same model ROM should work flashed with ODIN
