I hate asking requests, but I have this recovery on my TF300T and really like it, and think others may enjoy it too. Not knowing anything about the difficulty involved in such a thing, Would it be possible to make this available on our device? The original thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860, with the developer info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39433612#post39433612
Thanks in advance either way, you guys do enough for our device as it is to keep it fresh past its shelf life But never hurts to ask :fingers-crossed:

I can take a look in my free time...but no promises.....blownFuze......feel free to have a go at this as well if you have any time......I've not built a recovery and don't know how it'll go??
Thanks for looking! I appreciate that you'll look at it, I feel bad even asking for it But it seems like something people may like. I wish I had the chops to do it myself.

Well that was sketchy......just because I have never built a recovery before. I don't know if its what you want, but it's philz CWM 6 but no touch because, as stated in the thread, the touch code is not public and probably won't become such...anyway, here you go

as usual ANY FLASHING OF THIS FILE IS AT YOUR RISK (however I did flash it and reboot a few times without blowing up anything )
enjoy!

Personally, if I know how to do it, I would do one for myself.
How exactly is your nook being "gay"?
Unless your nook is homosexual another term may be more appropriate. Maybe you can say it's being a <edited before I get banned>.
Just so you know, removing apps can limit what the market will show.
Have you made changes besides removing apk's?
Thanks for making a ROM!

After I installed GAPPS, and downloaded Pulse, the Market FC's every 3 seconds. I think it was probably an installation error but since I deleted my boot partition on accident, It might be a while until I can look into it.

Ya, I understand. I saw the last one and what a big flame war it was, over being told that someone couldnt use someone elses work.
boot looped
This on boot looped for me. I like the removed apps and I''ll try it again after the next update.
Yes I wiped and install the ROM twice to make sure.
But I like the idea so keep it up.

Alright, It does that for me every once in a while but it goes away after a force restart with the power button. I will just have to go step by step again and see what app is causing it. Thanks for letting me know!
But seeing as I have no boot partition, it might be next week or so until it comes out. :/
Aw, I know someone who'd love a homosexual tablet.
No disrespect, but maybe you'd like to actually know how Android works before trying to (rick)roll your own ROM? What you're offering here is easily achieved without a custom ROM, even on an already-installed tablet, so other than the fame, fortune, and tons of women, I'm not quite sure what you're on about here.
Sucks about the boot partition.
Rodney
So... this is CM7 with some apps removed and a different file manager?
I agree....however......installing CM7 on the nook is so darn easy that many people who have limited computer skills are getting in on this game. Lots of folks who could not modify the CM7 install might want something like this. I am not sure what that this particular 'custom' ROM has to offer....yet. Who knows, maybe he will eventually get a modified install worth the trouble. I have never tried it myself, but the 'phiremod' modification has its fans...it is basically the same as this but obviously much more refined and with its own theme.
Why do people flame someone who creates a new rom on this forum? Look what happened to the last rom you guys flamed. He took it down!
If you don't like what he is doing then DON'T DOWNLOAD IT! It's that easy.
Maybe this is his first attempt at a rom. For all you know he could be the next cyanogen or koush. If you flame him enough he will just say screw it and leave.

Because it's a low-effort ROM. Seriously, all he did was pull a few APKs out of the ROM and didn't even test the effects of the missing APKs.
We shouldn't encourage low-effort posting like this. If someone comes out with a good ROM, people will respect that, but this isn't even a ROM. It's CM7 with APKs ripped out of it

I have accidentally formatted my SD card before. Mistakes happen. I would like to get a CM without unusable apps on a nook. There is more to it though than just removing the apk. Market stuff, system... etc.
I also applaud the goal you are trying to reach. i have been curious for months now in seeing how much faster an odexed rom for the nook could be.(if it's possible) or at least apk optimized with unnecessary images and language packs taken out.Hopefully one day a dev can try and cook one up. Don't let anyone discourage you.
Do you think it would be a good idea to start making videos and tuts. Not for the money or anything like that. But just to spread the word. Like for example how zips work. Little mods that could be made easily. But in videos. Similar to qbking77 but not on roms and how to install. But rather understanding the concept and grasping what is really happening. Some people might not care. But i know i did. And i learned by reading for days on end. Now i want to show everyone in an easier way to get more people more involved.Should i?

He definitely doesn't give credit, but it's not like it's all that bad. People do reviews all the time without giving credit to the dev of the rom. I can honestly see a bunch of reasons why people would hate him...but he centralizes some useful things and makes videos of them (rooting methods, apn video, etc.) - even if his reviews are litterally just booting up the rom and then going into settings or opening up netflix....lol. His reviews are awful. I can find out more by looking at the preview screenshots of the rom. Idk why I would watch any of them, maybe just hoping he'd actually say something useful about the rom other than "runs really good", but on occasion he would. I will say he definitely uses XDA for the info and most likely makes a accountable amount of money from his service, however he is very prompt in helping out any person who has a question on his channel, and many people just appreciate what he does in general.
But you XDA users are way too schwerd
EDIT: Oh nevermind I just remembered that he puts up download links for the roms he takes from XDA. That's a problem.

Yes, it is wrong for him uploading the ROM to his own site or whatever. It is just not right. BUT, he also makes lots of tutorials showing people how to root, etc, so I wouldn't see a reason to hate him that much, although I'm not a developer so they might not like it

I'm under the impression that his tutorials are either unclear or inaccurate, but they lead to boot loops or other problems. So people then flood XDA frantically asking for developer help for problems that zedomax's guide caused. I can see how annoying it would get to constantly clean up someone else's mess.

I don't want his site either, I used to watch his videos on YT, until his channel got banned. Then he tried making everyone try to sign a petition and ****. Then he posted a video saying basically, "I'm done with YT, go to my site". It is really just a money game for him, taking other developers work, making it seem like his own, and getting money off it.

Well I was the one who sent her the wrong file. And she doesn't really know a lot about stuff thats gping on here in xda.
Then honestly...you should not have sent it. Irresponsible flashing causes expensive paperweights and bad blood. Do it yourself...or don't do it. There should not have just been "a file to send". No one is going to help with this, as YOU screwed up, and her for trusting...YOU.
P.S. looking for info by carrier is far from confusing...if that confused you or her, should stay stock Sammy!!!!

Can't add anything to this that hasn't already been said. If you provided the service of modifying someone's device without verifying things first, most people aren't going to make it easy for you, especially with the information needed to restore the phone back to stock being readily available.
Also, you don't modify anyone's phone unless you're willing to take the time to figure out how to fix it. I never modify anyone's phone myself. I'll provide details on how to do so, or where to find more info, but that is up to the phone owner to actually make the changes themselves.
