For a while now I have been getting strange sounds, much like the water drop sound when you tap on the lock screen, during phone calls at random times. Some calls no sound, other calls will go off several times in a row then nothing for a minute or so then again etc.
I have the proximity sensor on so should not be hitting anything, and it also does it whilst sitting on the car dash board on hands free!
Been googling for the last few days and can not find a similar complaint.
Any one got any ideas?

I'm curious if anyone has had any issues with using bluetooth calling in a car. With my SGS1 (Verizon US Fascinate), when I hang up a call via bluetooth in my car, bluetooth on the phone will crash and disconnect from the car. The phone will freeze for a few minutes, then I have to disable and re-enable bluetooth for it to re-connect to the car. I've talked to a few others who have had the same issue with my same phone, but I guess not many people use this feature or have this bug? I would like to know if anyone with an SGS 2 uses bluetooth calling via car and if they have any issues.
I'm also curious about the minor things Samsung does in their ROMs which never made sense to me. The primary one is the "charge complete" notification. I charge my phone at night while I sleep and in the middle of the night (every night), I get a notification beep telling me the phone is charged. It also turns on the VERY bright AMOLED display which lights up the entire room. Also, my girlfriend's Samsung phone will die in the middle of the night if it's not charged and will blast the shutdown animation and sound VERY loud.
Samsung does little things that are a bit irritating at times and I'm curious if they've improved with their new phone.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help answer these questions.

interedsting thread. one thing keeping me off the sgs2 was the sgs 1 faults...
I have a delay when pressing the home button.. it's not as instant as the back button. did the original sgs have that problem too?
2 weeks ago, I took my galaxy S2 back to the shop to get it fixed under warranty.
The USB port was broken, as with so many S2's. I got it back after 2 weeks and the port was replaced for free.
But now the speaker doesn't work anymore! So I get no notifications when called or texted or alarm or can't play music, the phone thinks it plays the noise, but it doesn't. Also in the *#0*# menu, when speaker is pressed, nothing happens, no sound at all.
The internal speaker to make a call does work, so you can hear the recipient of the call.
But if that wasn't enough, I also get bad reception where before I would always have great reception. Now it just goes away and the phone almost never gets more than 2 bars, while my friends with the same carrier get full reception. I put my simcard in my other phone and there I have good reception, so it's not the sim card that is the problem. Also the wifi reception is worse. How is this even possible? My phone is worse than before. Before I got 3 bar Wifi connection in my room and 1 bar in the bathroom and now 1 or sometimes 2 bars in my room and no reception in the bathroom.
I reset the phone and everything, also searched the forums and found nothing.
I'm not very eager to send it in again, since they make them worse than before.
Anyone got a solution?

I have been experiencing a peculiar problem with my Galaxy S6 edge quite frequently.
Many times I try to call a person, the phone does not connect.
I have to then restart the phone and then it works.
Also, every once in a while, when I am talking to someone, the person on the other end suddenly is unable to hear me while I can hear him.
Could anyone advice me how to fix this ? Is this a SIM card issue ?
I cut the normal sim card to a micro-sim ?
I have had this same problem. I've only started noticing it over the last week or 2. It started dropping calls right around the same time that my auto-rotate stopped working. I wonder if the quick charge is also burning something related to the modem/antenna in addition to the accelerometer.
Hello guys,
I hope you can help me with this so please, read on. I am trying out 5.1.1 (CM 12.1) for a few weeks but I can't shake the feeling that something is wrong in my particular case.
I am running this version of CM12.1. No custom kernels, no kernel editing at all. I am running Nova Launcher. I have a 64GB external microSD card, which is half full and my internal storage has 3.8 GB of space left.
My issues are with the responsiveness. For example I have issues taking calls. It goes like this, if the screen is off (phone locked):
-caller hears one or sometimes even two rings
-my phone starts vibrating
-after one second or so my phone starts actually "ringing" with sound
-after two-three seconds the screen goes on and I am able to take the call
By that time the caller already has heard four or five rings and after the sixth one the mailbox kicks in. This is terrible. If the screen is on, the issue is nearly gone, since the phone is much more responsive.
My buddy's HTC ONE vibrates, rings and enables screen INSTANTLY when a call comes in. Yes, he has a stronger phone but I'd think the most basic function would always work.
I get similiar issues with timers, notifications etc. They feel "delayed", first the vibration, then the sound, then the screen. Looking at a black screen for 5 seconds while the timer is beeping crazy is not very nice.
The phone feels fine otherwise, some apps (Open Camera) take long to open up but I guess that's just the old age of the hardware. My main problems are with the core functions (phone...).
I like lollipop, especially ART, but I am thinking of going back to CM11, since it felt a bit more responsive and I had no troubles getting calls.
I am glad about any help I can get. Thanks in advance guys. XDA rocks.:fingers-crossed:

Never used Nova Launcher. Haven't experienced the in Buiilt launcher . Why not try it?
Hello everyone,
I recently got my LGV30, about 2 days ago, brand new, but from a 3rd party seller, and I noticed a very minor poping or "crackling" -- I'd like to call it more of a microcrackle than anything -- issue with the audio that happens . Specifically, when I open up the google browser, and hit the microphone icon on the search bar, about once every 10 or so times (its honestly random) I hear a micro pop or crackle in my speaker, for literally 1/4th of a second, then everything works like normal. It either happens right before the "beep" sound when the microphone icon is pushed, or just after the "beep" after it has been used, or both. It happens more often before I'm going to say something, or immediately after I'm done speaking as it types out what I said. Again, this is a very small "pop" the "ding" sound from pressing the mic still works, it just sounds a tiny bit distorted when first pressing it. Similarly, when using Gboard, and trying speech to text on the Messenger app, I hear the damn microcrackle again.
Here's the crazy thing though, I have ran about 5-6 videos on youtube that are supposed to be speaker tests (high and low frequency noise), everything sounds great. I have listened to over 10 hours of video/music and only once noticed a tiny bit of crackling, but honestly It was so quick that I'm not really sure if it wasn't just the song playing. I also have not noticed it with headphones but will continue to test this. I also picked up another android phone I had years ago, the Moto G4 Play, and tried to replicate the issue, to my surprise, my MotoG4 play has a similar issue, but its significantly more quiet than my LG. In the Moto's case, I press the microphone icon on the keyboard and I hear more of a "buzzing" sound immediately after, then, once I stop talking and hear the closing "beep" of the microphone, again, the buzzing sound. Much quieter, and likely why I never noticed it at all when using that device.
I'm just wondering if you all think this is a software issue, or a hardware issue? I have made several phone calls, people say I sound good, and I can hear them fine. I feel like something is happening when I press that button, as it doens't happen at ANY OTHER time when using audio. I'm thinking it might be the microphone "poping" itself awake? Maybe? I don't really know how this works.
Should I go through the trouble of returning the phone over this, or trying to get an exchange? It wouldn't be easy, since I bought the phone brand new off Ebay, and would need to contact seller (has 30 day money back guarantee).
Please let me know.
Thanks!
