So far 1 day and nearly 11 hours on my battery, no charging or anything!
Running Aosp.... I get a little less.. Maybe around 20 hours and about 4 hours of screen on time.
How much free RAM do you have on boot? On stock TW with beast mode kernel, I've seen as high as s 1802 on a fresh boot.
My best battery time was 30+ hours and 7 hours screen on time running odexed blue rom.

Excellent battery life, stock rooted.
But wifi calling causes a wakelock when it's engaged, so I disengage it when I'm not using it.

I use my device pretty constantly for email, text, gaming, phone calls and other etc applications. I'm running Freeza's Fre3 Rom for my daily driver and tend to get approximately 9 hours.

I don't understand the point of bragging about the long life of a phone's battery if the phone is hardly used. I can't even get 5 hours of just internet usage out of my phone. This is the norm for the original battery and my brand-new OEM backup battery. I'm still running a completely stock rooted Jellybean ROM.
GPS - OFF
BLUETOOTH - OFF
SYNC - OFF
WI-FI - OFF
I did turn the GPS on for about 2 minutes.
1. Check the Facebook and weather sync settings.
2. Check the brightness. Move it to 50%
3. Change Display timeout to 30secs
Those 3 steps should improve battery life.
Best option: Root and flash Vision X rom. I get around 5hrs of screen on time.

depends on my use but i get about 5-6 hrs of battery life. With my Zero lemon it started of good with about 2-3 days of life. and after a month it drop to about 15-20 hrs of battery life. I recently sent it in for an exchange. Now I need to deal with the stick battery for now.
I get about 15 straight hrs rooted with all apps and some battery saver application rocks woke up at430am and still at 69%

I don't know if this is a fluke or no..but today I checked my battery usage and it said I was close to 48 hours on a single charge..and my screen on time is 16 1/2 hours

I am not rooted. Any comments on this?

Guess you using the app to take your screen brightness down to 1 on top of that?

So after 2-3 weeks of playing with stock ics rom which i update over the air, i decided to root and install custom roms. I flashed Speed Rom 4.0. However, I feel like that the stock ics rom battery is just better than the custom rom. My use of amaze for a day is 2-3 hours of listening to music, 2-3 hours of web browsing, 2 hours of gaming ( tower defense ) and that's when I come back home and my stock rom battery is left with about 30%. However, when I flashed custom rom, I notice that my battery drain faster than before and after a regular day of using I only end up with about 10% left. Anyone has insight on such problem like this?

I mostly care that my battery can last through a day. My NRG ROM will give me a day easily, with about 1 - 2 hours of screen on time over the period. A lot of it depends on the strength of the 4G cell towers around you (in my experience); the phone uses more juice when seeking towers. The latest NRG is pretty good at not "hunting" for 4G.
Yeah... Looks pretty common I guess for a phone that's screen was hardly on

If you look at the screenshot you can see the phone itself was barely used, merely for an hour at one point, if that much and not at all for the rest.

I am getting the best battery life ever since flashing Beans 4. I am currently typing this with 1 day and 22 hours on battery with around 3 hours in screen time. Battery percentage is currently showing 55%... even if that is wrong and the phone dies at any minute, getting nearly 2 days on a charge is good for me!
I will keep it off the charger until it dies just to see how far it will go.

I have yet to have a phone that did not get improved via battery life from a custom ROM, even just a debloated and streamlined version of the stock one. Fully stock roms tend to just have too much crap on, and in, them to have wrangle out max battery life, max performance, or a truly optimal mix of both.
Using NOS underclocked to 1GHz undervolted 75mv across the board all set to conservative and 10 hours later 3+ hours of screen on data downloading GPS etc 60% Battery Remaining... Very nice

I can't complain. NO Root or Custom Roms...Stock. Pleased and v/surprised at same time. Yesterday was crazy good. Can't remember exact bat stats, but about 2 hrs talk, 20+ SMS and MMS, NO Wifi, NO Bluetooth, maybe 15 min browsing, appx. 15 min GPS and Screen couple hrs. No tricks or apks, just always turn off locations, wifi and bluetooth when not using ans auto-sync always off. Also disabled many bloat apks that I will never use.

I'm getting 16-20 hours with around 4 hours on time. I'm underclocked and undervolted , brightness at 25% most of the time, and I just supercharged my phone so I'm waiting to see if that'll help it. I know I've got my standby battery drain down to one percent every 2.5hours. Left it off the charger last night and it was at 98% when I woke up 5.5 hours later. Just gotta play with the settings and tweaks.

Is keeping Wi-Fi on all the time better for battery?

I get good battery life most of the time. But I am at the ball fields with my kids a lot with no way of charging mine or my wife's phone.
So I got me an Anker portable battery and it saves me all the time. I purchased the Astro E4 13000mAh Dual USB so me and my wife can charge our phones at the same time without looking for a outlet or going to the car. We can both charge our phones 3 times each on this thing before its dead.

As far as battery life is concerned, wifi > 3g > 4g.
But if you're not connected to a wifi network, leaving wifi on will drain your battery. It may not be by much, but I always turn wifi off when I'm not on wifi.
Been using my s4 for a while now and was wondering if my battery life is considered normal. My battery drains about 1% every 1-2 minutes while using it even if I'm just flipping through the app drawer and also drains 1% every 20-45 minutes when the screen is off. I'm running CleanRom 1.5 R2 De-odex and have greenified a few apps such as Facebook and Google+. Not sure if this is normal or not since I came from an iPhone 4.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
Well, when I'm using my phone it drops about 12% every hour(screen on whole time) and about 1%-2% every hour when im not using it at all. Usually I have my brightness up halfway and i have force gpu rendering turned on which has greatly improved my battery life. Sounds like you're losing maybe 30% every hour of on screen time? I also have max 4 processes at a time.

The first thing that should probably be asked is if you were having these problems before cleanrom. If not, it may have just been a bad download/flash.
