[Q] Could someone suggest a ROM for me? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I'm looking for suggestions for a stable ROM with a good battery life. I'm not too interested in tweaks since it will mainly be for watching videos.

If you also don't need much features go for Omni 4.3.

Hi, Omnirom(15-Feb-2014) from kasper_h is playing youtube fine.I`ve look transformer transformation without too many lag. Was watchable.
good luck

If you don't mind a little beta head over here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2668337
Also by kasper_h. It plays h264 content in SD ablolutely flawless and even 720p is smooth most of the time, both using MX player.

Galaxy task 14 slim.
Believe me, you could play YouTube HD video without a single lag just by using a honeycomb, neither ICS nor kitkat can play HD video smoothly.

Anyone know if this can be ported into some of our experimental mods or gingerbread?

lol...click on your link, go to the original thread and download the gTab/Harmony edition...it's the tweaks that he's been developing over top of a Ginger core but it's still a full ROM...Download, wipe all, flash, wipe dalvik, reboot and wait...initial boot takes a while..
Ahhh beautiful. Thanks. Is it pretty stable?

I have no complaints
Also no complaints on the tablet tweaked stuff. Running very well.
Corwins Tweaked CM7 RC4Beta2 has the tablet tweaks incorporated also (as an alternative if you want the tablet tweaks..)
Just installed it on a friend's nook and it's running great. I'll probably be switching to it from Vanilla AOSP Gingerbread.
the only gripe about it that i have is that it wont play videos. but from what i seen no gingerbread roms can play videos. untill there is a fix or if anyone knows of one besides using rockplayer or another software decoding app i think im going to have to stick with vegantab. But i do love the softkeys

I believe they are talking about hardware accelerated playback. I don't think any of the gingerbread based roms support hw acceleration currently.

ahh, yeah...ok...yeah, it's not the best of playback in some videos without the hardware acceleration, but it's hardly noticeable the majority of the time...
when i go to play my mp4's they wont even open at all. I would have to open them in rockplayer and software decode them whic isnt even watchable because of how choppy they are. maybe if i convert them to a different format any ideas?

[Q] P500 ICS ROM videos playing slowly and wrong coloring in Games

Hi All
I have LG optimus p500 phone which came with Android 2.2 when I bought it. With this stock rom I was able to play all formats of videos very smoothly. I was able to play Ranging Thunder car race game. Later I upgraded Android 2.3 Cynogenmod 7. This time videos played smoothly in the default player but was playing very slow in the other players such Mobo player but the game Raging thunder was playing properly. Now I have upgraded to this ROM on ICS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563818
Now the videos are playing slowly and the colors in the Raging thunder game looks like x-rays (I am not sure if this is called Color banding problem), proper pictures are not appearing in the game.
I would be really great if someone could help in resolving this problem. I have attached the screen shots of the raging thunder game.
I have the same problem in the below ROM which I had also tried.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626281
I am using the same videos files that were working in stock rom.
Thanks
Rahul
It's the same on all ICS roms for our O1. As stable as some of the ICS roms are, they still lack functionality in some aspects... and playing videos and hi-def games is one of them. You'll have to roll back to CM7 for better performance with videos and games.
openmax
if we get openmax drivers then our video and games will now run smoothly

N its pretty known to everybody that ICS is still not stable enough for our phone without those crap OMX drivers... why open a new thread to report a bug thats well known to the devs n everyone else on p500 forum?
The OP knws the reason for his new-found bug n no one can do anything bout it...
As for Stock ROM is concerned, it can decode DivX n XviD codecs using H/W.. While Custom ROMs dont have the required codecs to render them in H/W...

[Q] Questions about ICS 4.04 roms

hy everyone. I've been having some issues with the jellybean roms, lack of hd playing is a big one for me.
I was wondering two things: is there a custom ics rom out there without touchwiz thats pretty much bug free? is touchwiz optimizable or is it always a hinderence on performance?
thanks all this community rocks!!
How about cm9? Go to goo.im, go to dev -> cm -> p4/p4wifi(depending on your device) and download the latest cm9. But I doubt that YouTube HD playback will be smoother in ICS.

I put on infamous tab 3.0 ics. So far everything is intensely better. Hd youtube works, Hd videos work in mx (they were not before in jb roms..) Will still take suggestion from this thread but so far I'm really happy. Ill keep you guys posted.

Extremely laggy phone when playing games

Hello xda members,
I have a Xperia Mini rooted phone that works smoothly when i listen to music or when surfing but my phone becomes extremely laggy when playing games and especially when playing new ones like fifa 14(released today and subway surfers!is there anything that i can do?
P.S. Sorry for my bad English!

Standard performance tuning
Have you cleared out all background tasks when playing? Turned off sync etc? I don't game much on my Ray -- but the key thing for lag is clearing out old tasks -- and minimizing what you add in. If you don't use sync / drive / hangouts etc -- don't have it installed or activated.
- jdodge
I have already done the stuff you mentioned above but anyway, thanks for your reply

Try installing Seeder lag reduction
Or the best option flash a custom ROM
Custom ROMS are best for gaming. :good:

Gaming requires more ram and processing power. If you want completely lagless gaming try to close all running background apps. And if possible do not run many background apps like whatsapp & facebook.
Try changing the rom. If you want performance try cm rom.
Gingerbread Is The Most Gaming Friendly Rom.
