Stuck in boot screen, computer wont recognize phone in fastboot USB.. - HTC EVO 3D

I have a sprint CDMA evo 3d. Somehow I bricked my evo 3d. I had an older version of viperRom and tried to install the newest version and its bricked , just locks up at the HTC start screen. Tried to revert back to the older version and still bricked. At this point I'm just trying to unroot and go back to stock in hopes of that working.
I think its an issue with the drivers and my PC.
I'm on hboot 1.5 and its unlocked. I have windows 8 (but also tried this on my win 7 pc) ..I downloaded HTC sync and uninstalled. I have SDK tools with all the updates.
I go into fastboot on the phone, it shows fastboot USB and then my PC recognizes the phone but tells me there's a problem with the driver. I manually select an android ADB driver I have (I have win 8 in the mode that does accept unsigned drivers), it says everything is ok. But then a few seconds later the phone 'disconnects' and doesnt show 'fastboot usb' any more and says there was a problem.
Anyone have a driver I should try or any other suggestions?

Update Windows to 8.1 and the problem should be fixed. There were some problems with Windows 8 USB drivers.

I can get into bootloader / fastboot / recovery. But something is messed up. I've tried flashing new ROMs...the flash is successful but it wont boot...still gets stuck on the HTC boot screen

You need to make sure dumlok is on or flash boot.IMG through fastboot
Just read you cant connect to PC
....try uninstalling HTC sync and updating drivers, reboot....hopefully that helps

I tried that, but I had trouble finding drivers. Anyone have a link for up to date drivers for the evo 3d that work on win 8.1?

Take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2061435
I've seen it work successfully for many Windows 8 users. I'd imagine it will work on 8.1 as well.

You must make advanced reboot from settings and disable the signature check on drivers. Open settings from right corner of the screen and choose the last options, I think you will find it easilly. I' m not near a computer to tell you exactly the steps, the f7 key is what needed on advanced boot. After it will get the driver installed. That worked for me om gsm model.

Adb/revolutionary problems

Hi, I'm trying to s-off with revolutionary but it stays at waiting for device. I have cdma EVO 3d, hboot 1.4. I cannot get adb to recognize it either.
Usb debugging is on and I get a notification for it
Selected charge only
Adb works with my other 3d on the same computer.
I installed HTC sync and the uninstalled it
Installed pda net to make sure drivers are installed
Installed drivers from revolutionary site
Tried to run revolutionary in ubuntu and it was the same, waiting for device
In device manager it shows as an android adb interface and all the drivers installed good
The only driver that didn't install was the modem driver for diag mode but I finally got it Installed.
My next step is to uninstall all drivers related to the 3d and reinstall but that where I need more help, how do I know what all drivers to uninstall?

[Q] Unable to see device in adb

I received my replacement DNA last night and I am unable to get my Windows 8 laptop to recognize my phone in adb mode. I had no trouble with my original. Here is what I have done to try to fix it. I have downloaded and re installed htc sync, updated the drivers and uninstalled htc sync. I also re downloaded the platform tools and set it up on my c drive again. Any ideas?
It has to be a usb 3.0 port. Switch to another port on your computer. It needs to be usb 2.0

Yeah I tried that too. Its weird when its booted normally it can see it and be rebooted to fastboot. But after that it cant see it anymore. I feel like I'm forgetting to do something simple lol!
Booted normally adb devices should recognize it
Booted in bootloader adb devices won't recognize it
Booted in fastboot, fastboot devices should recognize it not adb devices
Where are you having issues. I guess I'm confused.

Remove and reinstall htc synce manager (and HTC drivers) and try again with htc sync manager closed
still having the problem
Try a different USB port, unistall drivers, reboot and then install (if it still doesn't work try an older version)....... The older ones should work (im using older drivers as I also had this problem) if still not then use a card reader

Your main problem is not reading carefully what people is saying to help you.
I don't know why you did this "google usb drive installed". I don't see anybody and myself said you need to install google USB driver. You need HTC USB driver

I asked and told you before ... check Device Manager, do you have My HTC under Android USB devices but you never answer that
Also check whether you laptop USB is USB3.0 or USB2.0; fastboot has problem on USB3.0
The vertical bar on the side is indicating that it is flashing something. How did you get fastboot usb now? Did you try my guide?
No, I dont see android USB devices in my device manager.

If you don't have those fastboot will not work, try a usb 2.0 port and let the driver install before you falsh something (the HTC driver not the google driver)
Then can I just flash the hboot 1.20 ruu for cid_044 to automatically restore stock recovery?
Ok could someone please tell me how to flash stock recovery.IMG for ICS on a brand new pc?

[Q] How can I return my HTC Evo to Stock?

So I have run into a problem with my HTC Evo 4G LTE. I rooted a while back but I decided that I didn't really like the roms that would actually work, and so I tried doing an RUU to get back to stock. What ended up happening was that my phone is now S-ON but it says Unlocked and Tampered. but the custom recovery is still there so I can actually do updates to my phone. I have tried to re-root so I can try the RUU again but for some reason I can't get my phone to be recognized by fastboot or the adb. I don't know if its because I have incorrect drivers or what the issue is. Whenever I try to open ADB it just runs through a block of text and closes instantly, same for fastboot. I don't know anymore which instructions or methods to follow since I don't know what exactly the problem is. I've tried looking on here for issues like mine but I can't seem to figure it out. I just want to get my phone as close to stock as possible but I am seriously stuck right now and I need serious help. I would really appreciate it.

I've done that but I don't know what exactly it is I'm supposed to do once I do that. Like how do I get back to fully stock? Or should I be trying to re-root to RUU again? Moonshine doesn't recognize my device in fastboot usb, it says something like usb device not recognized because of a malfunction. I'm sorry for being clueless but I'm at a loss at what to do.

Uninstall everything HTC from your PC then reboot
Unplug your phone then install the latest drivers from HERE the ones dated 6/6/13
Plug phone in and let the drivers install
They might install while in bootloader and custom recovery also
then give moonshine another try
Should I only install the drivers or install HTC Sync as well?

So I uninstalled all the drivers and everything HTC and restarted. I then tried to install that driver from your link. It said the driver wasn't supported by my operating system which is Windows 8 64 bit and then finished installing. When I plugged in my phone it didn't seem like anything installed. The EVO is recognized by computer as a media device I guess. I switched the usb mode to mount as disk drive and it seemed to install a driver. Then I ran moonshine again but when it went into the bootloader, again it said the USB device was not recognized.

Try this
On your PC go to device manager and find your phone, right click and select properties
Select the driver tab
Select update driver
Select browse my comp
Let me pick
Look for ADB USB device or similar should be one of the first couple choices
Select MyHTC install and you should be good

Uninstall everything HTC (again). Download and install HTC Sync Manager. Once install is complete, uninstall only HTC Sync Manager. The latest HTC Drivers will remain installed. Put your device into fastboot mode, and connect to the PC. Drivers should install, and the bootloader should go from saying FASTBOOT to FASTBOOT USB.

I just tried this, plugged it in and it still says the message of USB device not recognized. I'm really not understanding what happened as to why the fastboot is just not recognizing the drivers. I also noticed the word fastboot in red changes to fastboot usb when I move the selection down from bootloader to any of the other options. Is it supposed to do that?

Yes, when you're connected to your computer via fastboot it will say "Fastboot USB". Don't worry about the message on your computer-I get them all the time and I can still run commands via ADB & fastboot without any problems.

But in Moonshine when it loads fastboot it doesn't work, it just times out. It finds the device and restarts it, but after it gets into the bootloader it fails. That is what I'm trying to figure out.
When you connect in fastboot USB mode, what happens when you run the command "fastboot devices" (without quotations)?
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE
Well being that I can't open fastboot like normal because it just flashes and closes, I open a command window inside my platform-tools folder. Then I do the command fastboot shell and it says <waiting for device> and nothing happens. If i open the window and type adb devices it shows my phone's serial number, but fastboot devices or fastboot shell, nothing happens
