Hi All,
I soft bricked the phone and then used LGNPST and the stock.bin jb file to get back the stock rom, but i am facing a strange problem. Everytime i reboot the phone, no matter what brightness level i have selected before the reboot, it makes it 100%. After reboot the phone stays on the original set brightness, but within split seconds it makes it 100%. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi,
I recently updated to the XWKI8 stock firmware and now the screen fails to time out I have tried setting the time out to 15s/30s/1 min but the screen never switches off.
Is this a know issue? Is there any work around? I am getting fantastic battery time gains by upgrading from 2.3.3 but all is lost the moment the screen gets turned on due to an incoming message (when the phone is in my pocket) and then never gets turned off)

1) Tried normal reboot since flash?
2) Updated via Kies? So maybe you try to reflash it but then you have to do it via Odin (Kies just see that it's the actually one)

Please try the following - if not already done:
1. Wipe cache partition in recovery mode (Volume UP + Home + Power).
2. If you have CWM then also clear Dalvik cache (for Java VM).
If that does not help either, you may have to make a hard reset (*2767*3855#).
As this will wipe internal SD card, be sure to have everything in a backup elsewhere.
EDIT:
Here is another guess to try before.
There are two different places where you can set the screen off time.
The one you found is (I am sure) in Menu => Settings => Display => Screen timeout.
The other one is in Menu => Locations and Security => Timeout.
Maybe there is an other value set on your phone.
Try to change this setting before wiping everything.
Good luck !
Resolved!
A combination of the above two suggestions resolved the problem. Tried setting and unsetting security options and rebooting. It seems to be working now.
Thanks guys!
Last night my phone grew legs and ran all the way across the room while i was sleeping. When i woke up, after searching for my phone for 10 minutes, the vibration no longer works. I didnt know if it was a software or hardware problem. So, I flashed a backup from the day before (where vibration was working) and still no luck. So i flashed back to my current backup, when i rebooted, right before the bootanimation, it vibrates. Odd? It works when the phone is booting up, but not when the phone is booted. I'm running houstonn's Vanilla RootBox (4-20 v1) with houcha kernel. All help is appreciated!

Thanks for everyones help...
I was able to fix this, and find the root of the problem (for me atleast). Everytime i click the Dark RootBox, vibration stops working. To fix, you must wipe the device completely, and reflash the rom.
Hello guys, firstly, I wanna say this issue I encountered is pretty anodyne, but anyway, I wanna solve it cause it's annoying.
So, I was using a S2 with CM10.2 installed and I wanted to replace it with the [ZERO]BUG ROM v5.0+Premium Suite to, basically, improve its battery life and other minor issues. So I executed an "unclean" install, cause I directly entered CWM and installed the ROM, without installing the stock 4.1.2 via Odin and then again root the phone and install CWM. So it went ok apparently, but everytime I try to lock the screen, it surely locks, but no lock screen appears when I turn it on. Plus, the phone shuts down when I keep the power button pressed 2 seconds, and no power menu appears on the screen before that.
I thought it was a bad "coordination" between the two ROMs, because of the unclean installation, so I installed stock 4.1.2 via Odin to keep in that ROM cause it's pretty good, but still no lock screen or power menu.
So I wanna know how to solve this, cause I'd like to sell the phone and it has to be perfect for that. I don't care to stay in stock, go for CM or another custom CM/stock-based, I just wanna solve it.
So thanks in advance to all of you who are trying to help me.
Hey guys! This is my first thread here, but I knew this site before. I've got an M4 Aqua E2303, Android 5.0, Build 26.1.A.2.167 (upgraded from .99 with TWRP to keep the root.).
The story : I've got this phone like 4 months ago, I was so happy etc... After it updated to 5.0 it kept restarting randomly. Total random, when it was not under using, if I use it, it does not restart itself. Sometimes the restarts occurs when it's under charging, and sometimes when I want to unlock it and use it, and sometimes total randomly, and sometimes it shuts down. For different verions the problem was different too. On 26.1.A.2.99 it was the worst, it restarded and stuck on the boot screen until reached 0% battery. On 26.1.A.2.128 It turend off the screen, but the phone was running and the LED was red (even when fully charged) and only started with the hard off button in the SD card slot.
I've got the default "Diagnostics" app, now it says that the Phone got system errors 42 times in 10 days. It was worse before (over 140). But it doesn't say why did it restart, I'm hoping for help from any of you, who had this issue and solved it, or someone who knows a better diagnostic tool that will explain what caused the system fault.
I appreciate all the helps!
Have you performed a factory reset? (It will delete all your data and apps)

Yes, when the phone was new and the restarts were annoying. It fixed it for 1 day. The next day it was restarting again.
This would point to an app you've installed causing the issue. Factory reset again and install each app one by one until the restarts happen to find out which.

If you used the pre-rooted zip to maintain root while updating to the latest android, this will fix your rebooting problem. Follow this guide:

Will try it when I'll have time for it, thanks for the help!
Hello everyone, I have a problem and I hope you all can help me, I have not been able to find a solution for this. So I have a Galaxy S5 running on Lineage OS 14.1 Nougat 7.1 ROM from here http://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/galaxy-s5-lineage-14-1-nougat-7-1-rom/
Galaxy S5 is of the SM9000AZ variant which is Cricket. Now my problem is that, at random times of the day, my phone would reboot when I try to power it off. When I turn my screen off and turn it back on, the phone reboots as well. In order for me to use the phone I would have to keep the phone screen on at all times, when I sleep I always put an alarm and now I have to keep the screen awake when its charging otherwise it'll stay stuck turned off or it reboots when I get a notification.
It wasn't this way before.. I used to be on XtreStoLite which I had no problems. The problems arised when I switched to Resurrection Remix from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...opment/rom-resurrection-remix-n-klte-t3510376, the phone would start this reboot problem every once in a while. The ROM came with an update that lets you go to Nougat and there is when the reboots happened more frequently. I thought maybe the ROM was messed up or something so I switched to LOS but the problem is still there. The reboot problem also happens when I'm in recovery mode, if I'm making a backup and the screen turns off to powersave, the phone reboots.
Anybody have an idea what could be the issue or how to fix it? It's becoming an annoyance but if I have to, I'll go back to XtreStoLite, Marshmallow and Nougat are great but I guess they're not compatible with my phone?
