Help re music player apps - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Looking for a little help on music player apps. Specifically, a tablet running 4.3 (should be updated to 4.4 in a month or two according to the manufacturer), all music will be on SD card.
Currently, all my music is album oriented and sorted by Genres, then Artists, then Albums. This works on my iPod in my car (both iTunes and car software work flawlessly) and on my MP3 player (both MS My Music and player software work flawlessly). I start with Genres, find my Genre and click, brings up Artists within this Genre in alphabetical order, click on my Artist and brings up the Albums, click on Album and the songs, in album order, come up. Click on the first song and the album plays all the way through.
I haven't found an Android music app which will do this. Many sort by Genre, then go into directly into Songs, in alphabetical order. Many sort by Artists, but with over 20gb of music and hundreds of Artists, this takes forever to get to ZZ Top.
Anyone know of a music app which can go from Genre to Artist to Album? If this approach works with iTunes/iPods and MS Music, I found it hard to think I haven't found an Android app which can do this. Tried about 20 players in Play Store and haven't found one that does this. All help is appreciated. Thanks.
P.S. No playtlists; no single songs; simply albums by artist catagorized into genres.

Have you try some of them?
Apollo - Music player:

beat (2.0.2) - a music player with floating controls

Google Play Music:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.music&hl=no
(I recommend you to try Apollo and see if it right music player for you)

All of these only allow single level searches. I'm looking for something that allows a three level search; first, genre; second, artist; third, album.
It seems ironic I can do this with iTunes and MS Media Player but not with Android. I must be missing something here.

Mixzing
In case anyone is looking for the same thing, Mixzing works. You can set it for Genres; click on your genre, it shows the Artists. Click on your artist, and it shows the artist's Albums. Click on the album you want, and it shows the Songs, in album order.
Exactly what I was looking for.

Music player playing mp3 ringstone.

so annoying that music player put mp3 ringstone on playerlist and playing them with other mp3 songs. even though, I put mp3 ringstone in ringstone folder.
is there away to fix that?
Which Music player are you using ?
All mobile media player do the same thing. You shuold create a playlist for all your MP3songs (without your MP3 Ringtones) and save that play list. next time just simply play that play list. for WM Mobile when you cold start the app ( the app is not already running in the background of your system "check your task manager") there aren't songs on the playlist. From here your can create your playlist at this time, then play them.
Hope that cuold help you.
There's no real solution to this.
Some will suggest changing the properties of any music file you don't want to appear in the sense music player list to 'hidden', but that also means it wont be seen by other apps (I hid my ringtones and they no longer appeared in the list of chooseable ringtones when setting a ringtone).
The best solution I came up with was re-tagging my mp3 ringtones as artist 'ringtone' and album 'ringtone', so at least they were confined to one artist/album.
thanks for reply.
start doing playlist now.
how to hide your ringtones?

[Q] Music Player: option not to loop?

Is there a way to make the music player play an album or a playlist and then just STOP? I can't find any options to change the behaviour of the player and I don't want it to loop forever!
For being branded Sony the music player in this phone is pretty "basic" to say the least.
Yeah the player isn't great, I use the doubleTwist media player myself.
I have installed "Meridian Media Player Pioneer" from the Android market and I can recommend this little free application. I see some negative comments in the market about the interaction with the developer if you buy the "professional" version but I must say that the free version is very nice and according to the description it should play FLAC files too (haven't tried yet).
The application has all the settings you expect in a music player, including looping one song, the full playlist or not looping at all.

Album Artist tag in music player

I'm looking for a music player that reads the album artist (or band) tag of music files, if anyone knows of one. Or a means to modify existing players to read this tag. So far I've come up with absolutely nothing.
Appreciate it!
Do you mean like album art showing up? I re-tagged all my music on my pc, making sure artist/title/album and corresponding album art were all correct and the stock music player reads it just fine.

I think he's referring to the fact that the Samsung player can't handle more than some small and finite number of artists. If you load too much music, it gives you an error when searching by Artist.
I just downloaded the new WinAmp and am definitely digging it. MixZing is also good if you need EQ.
What I mean is reading the ID3 tag value for %album artist% or %band%.
%band% is what WMP12 and iTunes use for their album's artist. %album artist% is used by most other players (foobar).
WMP12 uses the %artist% field for contributing artists on the track, which is how my whole music library is tagged (so none of my songs have ft. Kanye West in the title)
For an example song, The Fire by The Roots, featuring John Legend
%track% - 11
%title% - The Fire
%album% - How I Got Over
%album artist% - The Roots
%band% - The Roots
%artist% - The Roots; John Legend
%genre% Rap & Hip-Hop
The problem is that all of the music players I've encountered thus far read the %artist% tag as the album artist, so what I get is a ridiculous artist list like
The Roots
The Roots/Dice Raw
The Roots/John Legend
The Roots/Mos Def/Styles P./Dice Raw
The Roots/Truck North/P.O.R.N./Dice Raw
Which is a huge pain in the ass, because I can't easily select all the songs by the roots.
I don't have a problem with the artist list crashing in Samsung's Music Player, but I do have a problem with it and Cubed both crashing when attempting to search music. Also, Winamp's search just flat out turned up no results. Yet ringdroid's search works great. Lame.
I do have a gripe about Samsung's display of the album art, as every file has 500x500 px art embedded yet it displays junk art. But that's for another day.

[Q] Music Player App

Ok, so I've been using the stock android music player for over 2 months now. It has all the functionality I want in a music player except maybe editing tags (album name, artists, etc) and finding album art (Album Art Grabber is my current solution to this).
The problem I have been having with this player is that when transferring music to the phone via 'Windows Media Sync' option is that sometimes the album art will not appear on the phone (happens to quite a few albums) and also the tags will be messed up. For instance, just recently I turned the phone on and was browsing my music library and all of a sudden the song titles appeared in lower case (ie. 'Tighten Up' became 'tighten up') I know this is a small thing but I find it annoying a little. Other things like artists will appear as 'Unknown'.
Anyone experience these problems as well? What programs/apps do you guys use? I've tried out poweramp trial version and it does allow my to edit tags but I was wondering if there is an app that is a sort of one click 'Find Album Info' like in Windows Media Player?
Check the music player called Neutron on the app market

Music, Song folders organization?

Hey all,
Im trying to find a way to organize my songs somehow.
I would like to separate my music into to categories or folders, one for rock and one for country and then be able to pick either country or rock from my stock Htc music player.
I can/have hooked my phone up to my comp, created 2 folders and organized my songs accordingly. The problem is when I start up my music player the player does not recognize the folders and just gives me a complete list of songs on my phone.
Sometimes I just want to listen to rock and other times, chill out to some country. If I had the ability to pick a gene/folder within my music player, then I could just shuffle all songs within that folder only.
I have not been able to figure out how to make the phone/music player recognize folders
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Thank you,

I do believe you can set up playlists and just pick that from the music player, otherwise find a music player that does support them.

I have tons of songs for each gen. It would not be worth it to hand pick the songs, way to time consuming. Its quicker to just skip songs, that is what I'm doing now, Hoping for a much better solution.
Thanks for the input
Try this

Sounds like that might work, Im going to give it a try
Thanks
Although not folder sorted, separation by Genre is sort of built into the MP3 standard, you just have to add the appropriate Genre tag to the files. There are multiple programs for Windows/Mac/Linux that can edit MP3 tags on single or multiple files at once. Then you just need a music player that can sort and play by Genre, like Winamp, PowerAmp, Fusion, N7, or most full-featured players.
You can also use an app like this to make playlists based off of what songs are in what folder.
