Hey everyone,
Just wondering if you guys have tried wireless charging on your Note 3 (QI). Does anyone know if any wireless charging charges as fast
as wired charging? The wired charging is incredible as im sure you all know but any wireless charging that is just as fast?

Charging speeds depend on the charging mat that you use. The one I use at the moment only outputs at 1A, whereas the official Samsung AC adapter outputs at 2A. I can't really compare the charging durations as I charge my phone when I sleep.

Well I would say my car charger is the best one among them..as it charges my phone very fast even in the duration that i take to reach from my home to the workplace...I use the belkin one..and I really like it...it outputs as 2A..and that is which make me smiling...
Wireless charging max out at 640mAh using the wireless contact, wireless charging through the USB max out at 1000mAh.

Tried QI charging but IMHO the amount of heat is not acceptable.
wall charger will be fast. As said its about the Amp out put.
Think of it as speed. The higher the amp the faster it will go.
I do know that with wireless charging my phone gets hot while with the core it doesnt.
But i know its from the wirelessness its an induction type of charging.
I prefer wireless charging as wireless charging is a MUST for me as I have many devices and i am getting sick of plugging in wires.

I have 2 different wireless chargers and they work great. I use my USB 3.0 charger once in a while.

So I made myself a wireless charging car dock for my DNA much like the one seen here minus the silly looking wooden blocks

While it's in the dock it is of course in car mode using CarHome Ultra with the screen on, gps'ing, and streaming music. But while charging I have seen the battery temp go from 84 f up to as high as 113 f in a 10 minute drive.
So my question is what temp is too high? I am thinking my problem could be do to the fact that I have powered the nokia charging pad of my car. The adapter it comes with has an output of 12V and my truck charges closer to 14V which is maybe turning up the output of the charging pad.
Sure would be nice if there were more accessories for stock features!

Isnt the battery supposed to charge at 5v? That would be the easiest explanation for the heat.
make sure the pad only gets 12v's. To check use a multimeter to see what your truck is giving to the pad. The pad will only charge the phone at 5v and around 500ma. The wall charger gives the phone 5v 1A.

Yeah that would be a problem. Voltage is what will kill the device first.
Gonna build me a little regulator to supply it a clean 12V at 1A as the wall adapter does.

is that what the charging pad calls for? give it what your pad runs on not the phone.
I would use a car charger that runs at the phones default charging specs. And check out the difference in temps.
Your device is going to get really hot if you're streaming music and using GPS while charging even in a best case scenario. So I would first make sure that the USB charger runs cooler before worrying about wireless charging.

Yeah been doing some testing with different variables and coming to the conclusion that it's a combo of charging and doing all those things at the same time. Biggest variable has been keeping it out of the windshield.
But Charles what do you think max temps should be that the battery should reach?
I just noticed your temps your saying your getting. Those are not very high for that kind of use and should be safe. Here is a pick of my battery and cpu just at idle, what are your cpu temps getting to?

If you have a 12 volt / 120 volt inverter handy, you could try using the the original charger for the wireless pad, using 120v instead of 12v. The inverter would be a quick way to stabilize the 12v input to the wireless pad.
I've just upgraded my unrooted LG G Pro 2(D838) to lollipop. Charging through my car usb adapter is now very slow since I updated. I have tried two chargers, both of which were charging at the full rate before, one of which is a genuine samsung charger - they both have over 2A output. The phone does recognise the charger as an AC charging source, but currently isn't charging above about 200mA.
I am using a Samsung AC charger at home which works as normal. I've had a bit of a look online and people are experiencing the same issue with the LG and other lollipop devices. One of the suggestions was to short the data pins on the usb cable, which I have done but this doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. If the phone is off it charges at the faster rate.
What I can't work out is why the charging speed is different between the samsung AC adapter and the car charger, when it detects both as an AC source? Is there some communication between the two, or are there any car chargers that will provide high speed charging that will work?
any suggestions are appreciated!
I went cheap and tried to buy a charger off of wish.com and I believe it was total junk. Even at its best though, it quoted a wireless fast charge at 1 hour and 54 minutes vs 1:17 corded when (battery was near dead).
I got a refund for that junk charge charger but I'm not interested in a OEM Samsung charger if works the same. I thought the wireless fast charge worked at the same rate.

No it doesn't, 2 hours is the best you'll get with a wireless charger.

Then what's the difference between the original wireless charger that samsung sold and the available "fast" wireless charger?

Ther is nearly no difference.. I have the same charger you had. But I have 2! of them with same serial number as yours
Wireless Fast Charging works with about 10 Watt from wireless charger to the phone.
while wired charging (Quick Charge 2.0) works with about 15 Watts.
Bevore Fast Wireless charging - wireless charging was only 5 Watts (Charger to phone)
Does it work properly?
Does it super charge?
Is there any problem of using an old wirless charger?
Should i buy a new one or something?

charge is slow, as quick charge is not supported by the s6 wireless chargers well a fast wireless charger will fast charge , but my s6 wireless charger is the regular non fast charge version and I know it works.
Phone does not get warmer then other charging options and my wireless charger is not getting hot.
I have purchased a rav power quick charger which I enjoy. It's fast.

The phone does not allowed wireless charging after few minutes of wireless charging. I tested on both my built in wireless charger on the car and external wireless charger. Battery in Settings says Connected, not charging. Wonder if anyone else has tested this. USB charging works fine. It's pretty useless if wireless charging can`t function correctly.

I don't have an issue charging wirelessly.
Maybe my car's wireless charger and another wireless charger, both not compatible with Pixel. Did you try wireless charger for car?
No, not in the car. Just used a crap one at the house. Charges slow, but does charge.
