MicroSD card formatting query
I tried to use NTFS, (figuring it was more efficient with larger files).
but found that neither the bootloader or TWRP understood the
filesystem. For the bootloader (and RUU type zips) a dedicated
small card is not a problem. I wondered if it was possible for the
the recovery OS to understand a file system that didn't require
breaking up the backup files to fit its needs?

We have 2GB of ram available, no need for a different kernel. Perhaps you have 1.5GB not being used? Where is your phone telling you that you only have 1.5?

Huh never noticed that. I'm sure the other 512MB is allocated for something related to the OS. Can't find any info on the subject.

As far as I know, 512mb is reserved for Andreno video card. This is usual for latest Qualcomm chipsets. So it is reserved for video card memory, we would never use it for OS RAM.

Hello all,
I'd like to get a microsd for my i9100 (european) with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 oboard. The more space I can get, the better it is, so I was thinking to get a 64GB sd. Yes, I know that such a microsd has to be formatted in fat32 in order for i9100 to use it, but what is not clear to me yet is whether the phone would be able to move apps to a 64GB card.
Any first hand experience or suggestion?
Thanks
you can use a 64gb card. u just have to format it once its in the phone. it wont work if u dont format it. 16/32gb cards will work fine right away.
Buy two 32 gb SD Cards.

Thanks. I'm asking coz there seems to be a guy (don't remember exactly on which forum) suggesting that a 64GB is good for anything except moving apps to SD. So I was wondering if someone has first hand experience
but having 2 sd cards is a problem in itself. . what if my app data is in one card nd other data in second but what is i want to access both at the same time

One for all important data and the other one for everything else.

I found the post of that guy (on XDA): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27863536&postcount=193
If you read through that thread properly (and other threads), you can move apps to 64GB cards. It sometimes takes a bit of mucking around is all.

Hey ,
I would like to suggest make external as internal sd card.
You can store your all apps with ease on ext card ( 4 0+ has built-in function if i am not wrong)
anyway this is the app to make your external sd as internal and vice versa.

AW: S2 i9100 and 64GB microsd
So just to clear it up. It is working pretty well on Stock 4.0.4 Rom (Germany). just format it as FAT32.
What do you mean with installing Apps on SD Card. Why do you need this.. Is the 16GB of Internal Storage not enogh for your Apps :what:

For a very bad luck I destroyed the S2 just hours after I ordered a 64gb SanDisk!
I would appreciate suggestions on which phone to buy as a replacement! Obviously with a 64gb microsd capable slot
AW: S2 i9100 and 64GB microsd
Maybe an S3 since it has native exFat Support.

do yo u mean what kind of files you might need to unlock bootloader, root, and flash a custom rom? is that your question?
otherwise if you want to use the phone itself on stock, then you dont need anything.

Thanks for this. I copied some bloat to a temp folder and then deleted the orig files. All works fine except adding new accounts to the blink feed. Went back to restore the HTC sync apk and my copies were gone. This dump helped me a lot.

Its very possible this could be turned into an update zip that could be flashed in fastboot similar to an ruu for s-off users.

I'm running AICP MM ROM from the International G3 forums and its pretty stable so far. Don't think it exactly stock but, you don't need xposed, amplify, or greenify. I have xposed installed anyway.

Official OTA MM has not been released but there are AOSP alternatives
A port is being worked on. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-lge-d855-android-marshmallow-ported-t3285025
The admins have banned the upload of the LS990 upload. The dev will not continue to develop it. Great.
why, what happened?
Something about it violating GPLv2 licensing.
