There are quite a few solid roms. Look at what people say about them and try it out. I was on kitkat for a few months, can't name a single kitkat feature that I use, so went back to 4.3. Now everything is solid with plenty of features. You really gotta just try some

I really like slim roms. They have been the most stable and have a great feature set. 4.3 and 4.4 have been excellent.

Thanks for the feedback guys

If i put on the latest TWRP, will i be able to flash all roms or just KitKat based roms?

I had to switch recovery when I flashed back to 4.3. the kitkat twrp may not be able to flash 4.3 roms.

Hi, i am using Beanstalk 01/27/14 rom + AK kernel from MiZrY in the thread to carbon/psx rom.
Rom very smooth rum assuring not underestimated the frequency and reduced voltage, brightness on auto, using the game as well as on the Internet, missing no less than 4h of screen, and 5h+ and keeps stable
Dont work led notification, so like a stable rom, I use the second week, problems not encountered

I will look into the Beanstalk rom

Cm11 m3 snapshot+banks gapps...works for me, I don't use a lot of those features from other ROMs like bean, slim or PAC so I just use xposed framework if I'm missing features..BTW does anyone know if there's a hellkat ROM around ? I didn't find it in goomanager

For the most stable its SnowJB rom (use with mysteryemotionz 6.1 kernel if you want more speed). For the best balanced themable/features/performance i go with the official cm10.2 rom and use the neighborhood kernel with it along with xposed app. I don't find kitkat worth it yet because of lack of gameplay performance and theming features.

SPDY ROM for G3 D855

Here is a ROM for all you G3 users. I will be releasing it as soon as the BUMP Unlock website is up and the instructions for BUMPing a ROM is released.
SDPY ROM focuses on speedy and features an ART runtime optimised for LG's hardware. It is based on Android 4.4 KitKat with G3 stock icons for the apps.
The DPI has been changed from the stock 640 DPI (which at 1440x2560 would mean the phone is 4.7") to 530 DPI (closer to 5.5").
I have forked and compiled my own android runtime from ART sources with optimisations for the LG G3's hardware for use in this ROM.
Working:
- Camera
- Wifi
- Bluetooth
Testing:
- OIS
- Laser Auto Focus (It is being handled by the hardware for now)
- IR Blaster
Todo:
- NFC
- Knock On (this is a software feature, but I'm adding it to the ROM as many G3 users like it)
- Quick Circle
Looking forward to sharing this with you guys, and yet another reason for BUMP to be released.

Cool
It is AOSP ROM?
I am guessing it is a themed stock based rom, but I might be wrong.
Also your benchmarks, they are not much use to use unless you tell us what model of the phone you were using, does it have 2 or 3GB of ram?
Cool, waiting for it!
yeah man ,work all things run good and make beauty release !!!thanks
If this is based on the stock LG rom, why do you need to wait for the Bump website?
Stock ?

I can see the icons are stock, so I'm guessing this is stock based?
Did you somehow modify the kernel?, that's only the reason I can think of for it to need bumping......
Is it possible for you to share the rom, so we can try it prior to the release of bumping method? =)
@mesquka I don't think you need to be bumped to flash stock
The model of the phone, as you can see in the screenshots it's D855, so 32GB.
The ROM itself is AOSP however I am using the stock LG icons as I like the look of them.

well even if it was a stock based rom (which he has now said it is not) if the kernel has been tweaked or modified in any way then you need to Bump the image.

the d855 actually comes in both 16gb (2gb Ram) and 32GB (3GB ram) so pointing to the model number doesn't necessarily answer the question. But thank you for the clarification.
Is all the hardware working?
I have ironed out most of the major bugs with the hardware, however, cellular reception is not as good as it was with stock ROM, I'm not sure what the issue is yet (pointers anyone), but I hope to find it soon. Bluetooth does play up at times, but it is tolerable (maybe for about 5 minutes just after pairing).

I don't think they would, as it's a screen replacement. It would be devastating if they did, I probably should have made a backup in hindsight. Ahh hindsight, thou amazes me.

G2 Best ROM

Hello. I just received my phone and like all the phones i get i want to get the maximum performance out of it.
Its my first time on G2's forums and i am dizzy with all that threads.
Can tou recommend me some of the best ROMs?
Thanks in advance.
Best ROM is stock ROM. The best option is to root, and for example you can install G2 TweaksBox. You can try port of G3 ROM and many other ROMs. This is the best solution for choosing the best ROM, because every user have different needs.

I myself decided not to root my phone before it gets the 5.0 update... and maybe after it If it wont get any new updates... seems too much of a mess.
Gotta say that stock unroot gives my almost everything I need

This is xda , stock is not an option ! Cloudyg3 is the best imho
LG's stock rom is unbeatable especially after the D80220G update , im not keen on the G3 roms at all and i hope we dont get the g3 style icons in the lollipop update or at least they give us the options in a theme. Cyanogenmod 11 is actually very good, i keep switching between lg g2 stock and cyanogenmod 11.
stock with root and exposed/tweaks ftw..(hidden/costumized nav buttons/hidden brightness etc g3 notification panel.. etc etc amazing battery and fast .. i dont find a reason to change yet.. when i get bored with ui i just install themes or use themer which have amazing themes.
Cloudy G3 2.0 is the dorimanx 8.7 and some tweaks.

Cloudy flex 2.6 if stock based.
Allegen if based on cm11.
V20G, stable 24 h/24 h, faster , battery friendly, smoother. I have installed V20G + xposed framework + G2 Tweaksbox + AppOps + Cool Tool module. Is best combination.

The stock LG G2 rom was absolutely terrible, so I'm using Cloudy G3, which is a modified stock G3 rom port to the G2. It's actually bearable, albeit missing a load of features I've grown to use on more AOSP-like roms on my S3.
The major factor for me was the lack of custom kernels available for the AOSP-like roms as well as the lack of support for G2 specific things.

I've made a thread with reviews to the ROMs I tried, you may want to take a look here. If you can't be bothered to go and read, then my recommendation is PA 29/06

About this rom
For personal reasons and to learn, I started to compile from official sources my android roms for my first Nexus, the Nexus 4. I continue now by compiling different roms for mobiles I own.
I hardly change anything in the roms, I just compile standard roms with features for testing before they are made available by the official roms or just because I think it's usefull.
Keep in mind that I want to keep this rom close to Slim official sources, so I add only things I think very usefull for my utilisation (this rom is my daily rom, so I just want it to be stable and battery friendly).
Prerequisite
You're device must be root, and you must have custom recovery installed (TRWP for example)
Instructions
If you are coming from stock LP / another rom
Go to recovery (CWM or TWRP)
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Install ROM
Install Gapps
Install Super SU (Optional, you can activate root from developper menu, after 7 clics on build number to acces to this menu)
Reboot and enjoy
If you are coming from a previous version the rom (officials or these one), just flash the rom and SuperSU if you done it the first time(wipe cache/dalvik are automatic)

Okay thank you ..I don't like cm ROMs ... BTW I flashed this rom and till now no issues and the rom works good ..and I will tell about the battery tomorrow
Its good to see new roms in the forum especially Slim ones I've been using since yesterday and everything seems nice and smooth a couple of issues I have noticed (1) Wifi password is not remembered on reboot and (2) cast screen does not work it just shows a black screen on my wifi TV. Not complaining just reporting please keep up the good work overhaul this is a nice smooth rom and battery drain seems to not be that bad..
Thank you for your feedback :good:
For your problems :
1) I have no problem on my G3, my home network reconnect after reboot. Try to suppress you're network (in wifi parameters, save networks or something like that), and reconnect it, it may solve the problem
2) I have no equipement to test it, probably a Slim problem, it's still in beta
Screens ?
What other screens do you want to see?
Envoyé de mon LG-D855 en utilisant Tapatalk
Till now just one issue the screen doesn't turn on when you receive a call until you press the power button..the battery is good I got 4 hours and 30 mins sot
Supporting pro layers?
Nice, good to see slim is on the d855. Missed it on the nexus 5
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
Initial impressions
It's nice, smooth
Forgot WiFi password on first reboot but OK since.
Seemed reluctant to switch to mobile data but OK after manually setting APN.
No option to change or remove Lockscreen corner shortcuts, which is a shame.
Now for the BUT
Lock screen showing "No Service" despite being connected to mobile network, which would be really annoying to me if this was my live, active ROM.
For a beta, good effort, I look forward to retesting future releases.
The camera quality not good as the other AOSP based ROMs
D851 plans in the future?
