[Q] Connection with Jawbone UP24 - Samsung Galaxy Mega

I'm very keen to purchase a Jawbone UP24 fitness tracker, but I understand that it's not supported by the Mega 6.3 and that people have had difficulty getting the devices to talk to each other. Can anyone shed any light on this, does anyone know a fix or workaround?
Cheers.

The UP24 only syncs via BT to iOS devices, no android ones. As of today anyway.

Does anyone know how to do it on the Droid?
Is there a single honorable reason why you would be interested in doing this?
I sure can't think of one.

Nope. Not yet.
I don't see why it matters to anyone why someone wants this.
I want this too. I don't have to explain to anyone as to why I want it. Because, it is absolutely none of your business. If you don't know how to implement it, then don't post.
Lol. This is a public forum. Of course you don't have to explain why you want something. Equally, if someone who could help doesn't want to, because they suspect you're up to no good, they don't have to justify their actions either, let alone help you. Blessed be.

Touché. I'll admit it. The main reason I want this is to mess with my friends. Nothing actually detrimental. Same reason I like sms bombers, and caller id fakers.
But still, this would be great to add on to my list
This would be so awesome..just from a security standpoint to be able to show and explain to friends and family to not there guards down when it comes to cyber theft and to turn off your radios when not in use
I never quite understand answers like this. This forum is for the exchange of information, not personal opinions. People that think their some kind of 'ethics police' need not be on this type of site. This site is for the exploration, hacking and development of our phones. Rooting & custom firmware is frowned upon by security researchers and manufacturers alike, but because your into it, it's morally correct?

Yep, one man's "not needed" is another man's necessity. This is no less needed than say someone thinking they need a ps3 controller (or wiimote) working with their phone, but no one really complains about that.
here's a very legitimate reason for you so if you know how PM me
Hi,
A friend of mine has an older mobile with a broken touchscreen - the phone no longer has a SIM or a RAM card and is in "Music Sync" mode when it connects to a PC via USB.
They are currently in a court case and need to get their old SMS's off the broken phone - all the "forensic" mobile software out there (from $500 up to $5000!!!) require that the phone is in PC-Suite (or PC-Sync) mode. This can't be changed on the phone as the touchscreen doesn't work.
The only way to get to the SMS's is by Bluesnarfing, so if you know of a PC program or a WinMo 6.5 program that will let me access their phone PM me.
Thanks.
Why is there always that one person that offers no assistance, takes up bandwidth questioning your motives...
For those that don't know:
"Bluesnarfing is the theft of information from a wireless device through a Bluetooth connection, often between phones, desktops, laptops, and PDAs. This allows access to a calendar, contact list, emails and text messages. Bluesnarfing is much more serious in relation to Bluejacking, although both exploit others’ Bluetooth connections without their knowledge. Any device with its Bluetooth connection turned on and set to “discoverable” (able to be found by other Bluetooth devices in range) can be attacked. By turning off this feature you can be protected from the possibility of being Bluesnarfed. Since it is an invasion of privacy, Bluesnarfing is illegal in many countries."

[Q] Barometer?

Can someone explain what the barometer does?
I know what a barometer does, but what is its intended function for the S3? Some people say its for GPS in other devices, however I haven't seen Samsung confirm anywhere what its intended purpose is.

Yes, it's for the GPS lock, Galaxy Nexus have the same tech
A google engineer explaining the Galaxy Nexus barometer

Had a G Watch for 3 months.....

So, I was super excited and super satisfied with my LG G Watch for the past 3 months+.
However, I was just given a 1st gen Galaxy Gear and am totally blown away by the ability to make and receive phone calls with it! Not only that, but the screen is far superior. The Tizen operating system is much more pleasing to the eyes as well. The only complaint is the limited supply of apps available for it. With that said, I don't really know what else I need aside from what comes on it stock.
If given the choice @ $100 price point, I would choose the Galaxy Gear hands down.
Just my 2 cents
I agree, have a Gear 2 and now a Gear S and I do not use a lot my G Watch or my R Watch. R Watch just standalone for the face.
On Gear I have all app I need and more than the Wear : Google Task on Gear but do not exist on Wear.... incredible to not have Google app on wear
Can take note with keyboard on Gear even without phone or internet connexion but impossibble with wear. Speaker on Gear to answer on voice command but not on wear.... and many many many....
Glad you love it. I just cannot imagine talking to my wrist on a phone call, though.
I actually had the Gear first and was using it with Tizen before I got my LG G watch...I am still floored to this day that Google decided to take this gigantic leap backwords by releasing the androidwear spec without phone capabilities.
The move is so moronic that my head explodes if I think about it too much...I mean, the technology was right there...Samsung did it on the original gear!!!! I was using it virtually every day...
Anywhoo... I still use my androidwear G watch as my daily driver as I like the app selection and love my custom watchface that I made with Facer giving me all the info I need at a glance...but if google ever decides to get their heads out of their a$$e$ and include telephone support...I'm all over it..
Watches with phone capabilities have been out forever. Never really caught on. I doubt I'd ever use it if I had it.
Agree. It makes my head explode that people want this feature.....

So it bothers you that people would want a feature that would be totally unobtrusive to you if you chose not to use it?
i would love a samsung watch but do not and will not have anymore samsung phones. wish they worked on any android phone
Ouch, why would someone want to make phone calls using the watch???
That's what BT headset or earpiece is for.

have you ever seen someone with a bluetooth headset? i make fun of them everytime. the watch is great while you're on hold, or talking to tech support. medical pros don't have to take their gloves off to take a call. just answer it with voice. it's really got alot of good reasons to have it.

I'd think with that ability they'd break patients confidentiality more easily? I can't imagine a personal call these days with these gadgets. I agree those Bluetooth headset!
i really thought the headset was outdated by now. maybe medical professionals wasn't the best example, how about tattoo artists? or anyone that types on the computer all day?

Why would I want everyone to hear my conversation? Why would a wireless device that is used to keep personal conversations personal be outdated? Do we all of a sudden live in a society that values hearing what others have to say in a phone conversation? Hell, even in my car, my phone is connected via Bluetooth for hands-free communication. But then again, the whole world doesn't have to hear it with the windows up
What I think is outdated is holding a phone up to your head, which deserves equal ridicule under your view most likely...

[Q] Pioneer AVH-4000nex updated to support Android Auto

Hello Guys! I've seen a lot of frustrated guys out there that were disappointed that Pioneer won't update their 4000nex units to support Android Auto. I saw this posted and wondered if this guy can do it so quickly, surely someone here could accomplish the same. I'm tempted to purchase his solution. Anybody have any thoughts as to whether this is safe?

this would be pretty freaking rad. the two head units from what everything is pointing to, are identical aside from the software. i would like to believe this is legit. i have been eye balling a 4000. the android auto would be a nice feature to have but it is lame on their part to not do a firmware update.
I have loaded it into my head unit. The program loads but right now there is no audio for android auto. Im waiting for an update and will give it a try at that point. I wish I were savy enough to know what to do but unfortunately I'm not. I have the firmware and can upload it if anybody who is interested wants to take a look.

I designed something myself as for a firmware interface to work with the 4000NEX. If you don't mind though, I'd like to take a look at what you have to see if mine is exactly mirrored or a bit different. Two things I noticing here is when it was posted he said he couldn't get the bluetooth to work for it, which I have rerouted a fix for that. But as for the audio not working for android auto, I want to see what is different on what you have and what I have. Mine worked fine when trialled, but it could be because of my current system already having bluetooth in the truck. If you don't mind, can you upload it here or email it to me? jared.balsor at gmail dot com
It would be great to get AA on the 4000NEX.
Hopefully someone here can get the firmware to work 100%. I'd be willing to donate.

Yeah same here. Pisses me off that I only bought that head unit a year ago, and they updated the firmware for apple carplay but not android auto.
Firmware for NEX4000 to make it useful, please
I'm so irritated at Pioneer i could spit. I've updated to 1.11, got the MHL HDMI to usb adapter for my Galaxy Note 4, and then found out that i bought the crappy 4000NEX. The 4100? Son of a *****.
So, sell me 1 of your lauded & much praised firmware please, good sir. ☺

hearing aids

I'll like to know if there's away anyone can enable the direct streaming for hearing aid compatibility. I'm willing to pay if anyone can do it.. I have an LG Wing.
thanks ahead
I can't offer any help, but I am replying because I too am interested in something similar (lack of ASHA support in my Umidigi A9). Interested in forming a group around hearing aids?
Hearing aids could be of different types, and some of them are not android or Bluetooth supported, to get the exact solution you can contact your nearby hearing aid specialist.
