I've been running CM10.1 for quite a while with no issues, but I decided to "experiment" with a 10.2 ROM that I found. I've managed to brick the tablet to the point where I have 2 boot options:
1) With no intervention, it boots directly into Download mode
2) I can hold the power button and volume key and get the option for Recovery or Download, but Recovery mode does *NOT* work. It just blinks and stays on the screen with the Recovery and Download options.
I've tried flashing with ODIN, but no luck. On the downloading screen, there is a message at the top left that says: "Reason: No Kernel". I'm not sure if this actually means there is no kernel on flash or if it is unrelated.
The other information on this screen is:
Secure Mode: Secure
Check Signature: Check
Custom BInary Download: No (0 counts)
Current Binary: Samsung Official
Waiting for USB cable...
When using ODIN, ODIN reports that it was successful in copying the new recovery image to flash. But, the result is always the same.
Does anyone have suggestions or know what the problem may be? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!

So today i was trying to root my phone this morning i was using a method called Casual R465 by Adam Outler. When i tryed using the software it would try to load some of the software but half way through it would give a a error message and say to enter in a pastebin user name and would say failed and error. from watching videos i never seen this so i closed the software and tryed a few more times. nothing seems to work. i left my phone plugged in after a few minutes i noticed my phone was looping the samsung galaxy note 2 logo over and over. i have tryed the volume up+home+power and it doesnt seem to work. When i do hold volume down+home+power i do get the odin mode option. i have tryed running odin on my PC and download firmwares but when i do it will start loading then give me a Fail message. im a bit worried if someone could help i would greatly appreciate it
in odin i says
Odin Mode (red)
Product name: SCH-I605
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Offcial

You need to read through Adams thread, if I remember right there was something about certain versions and drivers.... your not bricked, just ran into a road block. Please use Q & A or post your question in the appropriate thread.
You have used an older version of casual... Should have used r515....now you need to go back to odin and use stock rom to resume handset to normal mode
Thanks,

Hello, I purchased a phone off kijiji fully knowing it was not functional - For the 40 dollars my curiosity got the best of me; and if I can fix it well I can get myself a new phone for cheap. I was informed that this phone: Samsung Galaxy sgh-i747m had the latest update (not custom rom). The phone suddenly would not boot past Samsung logo and by the time I bought it, would not boot up at all. So after doing extensive research I decided I would give the 16gb class 10 sd card boot a chance. While somewhat of a success, the only thing it boots me to is this.
BOOT RECOVERY MODE (IN GREEN)
CHECK BOOT PARTITIONS
COPY FROM T-FLASH
BOOT RECOVERY
WRITE 159488 SECTORS
FLASH WRITE FAILURE (RED)
ODIN MODE (RED)
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I747M
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: NONE
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
Warranty Bit: 0
BOOTLOADER AP SWERV: 1
I should note that with the debrick-SGH-I747M-UEMK5 image that I used, the phone will boot to recovery mode without holding any buttons(While Plugged in). It will also boot to recovery if it is unplugged and I simply hold and release the power button when I feel the vibrate. I have also tried volume down + home + power. Same thing. If I take the sd card out I cannot get any sign of life / no recovery mode.
Any ideas as to what needs to be done? At this point I am thinking motherboard failure.
edit* I forgot to mention that the computer does not see the device at all, even in device manager as a random name. There are no signs of life on the computer end. ODIN also does not detect it even when in boot recovery mode.
Well, I'm not so sure you'll find an answer here; that's a Canadian variant, Google tells me Anyhow, it's not dead if it can still turn on, and especially if you can get to recovery. Though to fix anything you'll need a custom recovery. If you already have one, have you tried flashing any custom or official firmware yet? I assume you're not a noob since you know what Odin is (though to be honest, I've only used it once, while rootingfor the first time)

Hi, thanks for replying.
Well, I am not a complete noob but have a basic understanding as I have successfully rooted my previous phone. I have just never tried fixing one that was bricked before so some of these things are new to me.
Once I make the SD boot card using "debrick-SGH-I747M-UEMK5" the phone will kick on into boot recovery mode. From there I can't do anything and the computer doesn't see it at all. That is where I am stuck on how to load anything further as download mode will not come up.

Hello all,
So, let me keep it as short as possible.
The incident
I was talking on the phone, after the call i tried to hang the phone and there was just a black screen (phone stuck).
Pushed Power button steady and the phone rebooted and never boot again.
Mobile bio
The phone was rooted (2+years ago with CF Root)
Rom was stock European 4.1.2
I have available a full nandroid backup (boot.img etc)
The latest Custom recovery i had installed was CWM (ver. 4 something).
Current status
The phone is stuck at boot with a yellow triangle.
The phone can get to download mode (and be recognized by odin)
The phone cannot get to the recovery menu, (to be more precise when i press vol+, home, power the phone finally gets to a black screen {no backlight} but it is recognized by the command "adb devices" as in recovery status)
Kies cannot connect either in recovery mode or download mode. (Stays in connecting message).
Tried the following
Installed various kernels (Siyah-s2-v4.1.5, Siyah-s2-v5.0.1 etc)
Installed various roms (including stock roms) via odin with NO error.
Installed the original .pit file for 2Gb S2 system memory.
Tried the flashing method with 3 separate files (CODE_I9100XXLSJ.tar, CSC_HOME_OXX_I9100OXXLS1.tar, MODEM_I9100XXLS6.tar) via odin appropriate fields.
Tried two different Odin versions (1.85, 3.07)
So after trying all these, i finally rest my hopes in the community.
I really hope there is something more i can do, in order to fix my phone.
Thanks in advance for your time and effort.
Hello again...
Still trying to find a solution...
Some more info, in download mode i get the following info:
Custom binary download: YES (1 counts) and it doesn't change no matter how many times i flash anything through odin.
Does this count change only if you flash a new rom via recovery?
Anyway, i'm pretty desperate so i keep on trying to find a solution...
ANY help appreciated.
Soo i just got my galaxy s3 twrp installed using the twrp official app from play store, after i installed the twrp, i havent test it yet, soo i continue downloading custom rom from rom manager premium, the exynos rom i guess, after downloaded, i install it using rom manager then my phone reboot into "downloadin, please do not turn off target", but when i press "volume down+power+home button" it gives me the option to continue or restart, and if i select the restart option, it boot me into the "downloading mode please do not turn off the target" but when i select continue, it take me to "downloading, do not turn off target" and with red ODIN MODE on left top and it shows:
custom binary: Yes (2 Counts)
current binary: custom
system status: custom
so i cant boot into normal system android, how do i fix this, im ok to lose my data, sory my bad eng
Did you confirm the phone model number on download mode?
Start over by using Odin to flash a stock ROM.
Flash a stock rom via odin and start over. You need to root the phone via chainfire, then you can mess with apps like those.

Hi Guys,
I hope someone can help, I’ve watched countless videos and tutorials and not one has fixed the issue I have with my tablet.
Initially I had a boot loop problem and purchased a new battery. Now when I try to enter recovery mode I don’t see a list of commands. When it does enter a mode it only gives me an option to download a custom OS or to restart (which throws it back into the startup loop). If I select the download option the android icon appears with “Downloading”. But in the top left hand corner it says
Odin Mode
Product Name: GT-P5210
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
The tablet doesn’t appear to be doing anything?
Do I need to connect it to a PC and do something else? In the recovery videos online it shows options to clear cache etc but I cannot access any menus? It only will go into the above download mode?
Please can someone advise me
Thanks
Did you solve this problem?
Downloading just means it's waiting to get anything from Odin.
Has to be connected to a PC of course.
