Ello,
I have an Alcatel One Touch Mini running Jelly Bean on stock rom, and themer installs fine and I can apply themes.
However, when I go to 'browse' and then 'newest', to display the latest themes, the latest theme is "city", which is from a couple of months back. It would appear that I can't view any of the newer themes.
I've tried reinstalling themer but it doesn't help. My resolution according to "lcdspecs" is:
res - 480 x 854
pixels/inch - 240
I haven't knowingly installed anything which should effect it.
Does anybody have any ideas what's going on here? I want the greenly theme so badly!
Thanks

Hi, sorry we didn't get back to you on Facebook, was speaking to the rest of the team.
In theory your phone shouldn't be supported as it doesn't have soft keys (as far as we can tell). So only devices with a 480x854 resolution with soft keys are properly supported.
Did you root your device?
If it's completely stock, it might have been lucky that your phone supported themes up till now. Devices with a 480x854 resolution and no soft keys will be supported very soon though.

Okay thank you. Purely out interest, do you have any idea why they stopped working after the 'city' theme?
My phone is rooted using kingo root, but themer installed just fine before that was the case!
hmmm maybe the rooting is the problem then if it was working before, but as suport posted the resolution isn't supported

Ahh, you misunderstand me. Themer installed fine before I rooted and it installs fine now. It still has the issue with not displaying a massive proportion of the (seemingly newer) themes though.
but did it display them before rooting ?

Like we mentioned it could have been purely coincidence. Some themes aren't seen on other devices due to the complexity of the theme. If it completely stops showing any new themes though, then it might due to your device.

Sorry for bringing this thread back, but I have been thinking about this recently and think it's probably quite important.
So basically the situation as alread stated is:
1. Alcatel One Touch Mini phone
2. All themes released before the theme 'city' work
3. All concurrent themes don't
As far as I can work out, this theme was released in December. As such, at around about the time of that date, something changed within the programming structure of Themer which makes all concurrent themes incompatible with my phone.
I know that themer are trying to increase the list of supported models, so I would imagine this is a pretty important thing to note!
Just thought I would put it back out there.
Any further ideas? Surely coincidence does not apply here.
Thanks

Hi,
Unfortunately there's not much that our team can do. We don't have the resources to check why rooted phones have issues, especially ones that aren't fully supported (as mentioned, only a 480x854 resolution with soft keys is fully supported). The team probably removed a root-fix feature after that specific update as many people were complaining about crashes/bugs with devices that weren't supported.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but at this moment in time, our team don't have the time or resources to work on rooted devices.

I installed the first AT&T leaked rom a couple of weeks ago, and since then certain apps tell me my device isn't compatible. I finally figured out it is because the rom is reporting the screen size as 'normal' instead of 'large' using tools like ScreenInfo (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jotabout.screeninfo).
Is this a common issue with ROMs? Is there an easy fix in the short-term? I ask because I am the dev of an app which was limited to just the Note, but now it doesn't work for folks with this ROM which mis-reports the scree size.
Thanks for any insights in advance!

root it and look through the build prop file.
I don't see anything for it in build prop, there's DPI and resolution in there, but nothing that defines screen size.
It's annoying me too because it's forcing me to use the swiftkey for phones, which makes it impossible to reach the letters in the middle.

Can't be, I have both tablet and phone installed (X and 3.0 beta). It said that I'm installing the wrong one on one of those, but it was just a warning and it still let you install it.
I've published a couple Go Locker themes and recently just noticed something that is driving me insane. I am using a Galaxy Nexus and kanged a couple of their lockscreen's. No problems with those at all. Install fine on every device that I've tried. MDPI, HDPI, XHDPI no problems, all with just a HDPI folder, no other resources. Recently I made a football lockscreen and want to make sure it's available to as many people as possible. This is where the problem lies. It will not work on an XHDPI phone from the market. It installs fine when testing and from using the same apk as i used to upload to the market. But when a person download and installs it then tries to apply it, they get all white preview images and then if you apply it it gives a completely clean screen that looks like its unlocked but is locked only unlocking by the home button or a status bar pulldown action. I've tried for a couple days to figure this one out and am pretty stuck. The apps are not checked for copy protection in the market either. If anyone has any clue what-so-ever it would be greatly appreciated.
(I tried adding a drawable-xhdpi folder too, no bueno)
When I download a theme that does not work (no preview image), I can NOT find it with root explorer either even tho it says the app is installed on my phone. I am almost completely lost as other themes I've done work with no problem.

UPDATE: I have had someone (BigNaDad aka BigDX) finally let me know exactly what the issue is. It is an encryption that Android 4.1 (jellbean) puts on paid apps. Go Launcher/Go Locker currently have no decryption process for themes therefore paid themes will not work properly if you are running anything after Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Hope this helps someone else's headache.

Hi,
Do you have a fix for that? I'm also having same problem as non of my paid go locker themes dont work at all. Please tell me how to fix it if you have an idea.
Thanks
Vajira
I have them email me a copy of their receipt and then send them the same apk that I originally uploaded to the market. Annoying but still gets the job done. Wish the Go Dev Team were a little more helpful with the issue.
Possible solution

I think I found a solution. I moved lockscreen.xml file from assets/skin folder to res/raw folder. I tested it on JB as a paid theme and it worked.
The only thing I couldn't figure out is it does not show the theme thumb and preview images on go locker theme chooser. They are all blanks (but still you can apply the theme from there). I tried to move them from assets/preview folder to res/drawable-hdpi folder, but it gave me few errors that I couldn't solve.
Give it a try and see if it works for you or not. Let me know if you have any other solution for this including preview images.
btw I haven't tested my solution on GB and ICS devices.

You ever found a complete work around?
I thought I'd share with everyone that THEMER is finally LG G3 Compatible as of today.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycolorscreen.themer&hl=en
Installed just fine over the restored version I have.
Now to check out all of the new themes from the last month.
I had been checking daily for an update. I'm glad they finally made it happen. :good:
When I try to pick a theme I get the message...
"Themer is not detecting a supported screen dimension or resolution."
Current screen dimensions
2413x1440, DPI=560
Only the stock DPI is supported for any given device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/themer/general/best-dpi-to-themer-t2842008
And here's their sub forum here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/themer/general
Lastly, this thread has some tips on how you can force compatibility through DPI and other tricks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2478947
So is Themer *fully* compatible with the LG G3, or does it just let us download the app and attempt to apply themes?
I had two instances where I was 'testing' themes without having Themer set as my default Home Screen, and it locked up my phone. Had to remove the battery both times in order to reset.
Is this a known issue, having to do with DPI settings needing to be adjusted?

Fully. I've had no issues at all. As long as the DPI and nav bar are stock, shouldn't be any issues.
Thanks. Good theme

have been asking for the tab pro rom port to the tab S both by thedevious1 since they are so similar..no response (understand that). I tried my own cut and paste...select priv apps and it boots but system ui error..individually can take the file manager and mms apks and they work fine with the lighter ui..the contacts also can be used but not with phone (dependencies I guess)..tried porting using some of the guides but what do I know..also most of guides are old and jb etc based
I love my Honor 6X. In fact, I've bought 3 of them in my household. The one thing that just drives me nuts though, is the spacing of the buttons on the navigation bar. I've searched and searched online and have not been able to find any way to change it. I'm using the Lineage theme so the buttons are Pixel-like, but I want them spaced out like stock Android instead of so close together. Anyone have any way of doing this? I'm rooted with bootloader unlocked on stock EMUI 5/Nougat.
Thanks!
caseym
Hi caseym. Same here. I purchased 3 of them when the BB deal came out. I'm afraid that you would have to use a custom ROM to get the navigation keys at the spacing of your liking. You can change them with a theme and you can re-arrange them (settings/navigation key) but nothing beyond that, other than changing the resolution (settings/display/view mode). For my taste the current custom ROMs are not ready yet for my main phone though. I've replaced Moto G4 Plus' on which we ran the Invicta ROM (best rom for that phone). Once the custom roms for the 6X reach similar status I'd consider them.
cheers
So, you can choose to use an app like this https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-custom-navigation-bar-customize-t3590967 (no root, no Xposed required) or you can manual do that via adb, following the tutorial here https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...icons-or-re-arrange-the-buttons-without-root/

Whoa sorry, both methods are a pain to EMUI, didn't noticed that. Well, check this one then https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/themes-apps/mod-navbar-tuner-enabler-t3615628 it requires substratum, but it should work on many OEMs Roms.
Thanks all for the suggestions. I've looked at some of these options and found exactly what derausgewanderte pointed out. I'll try the substratum mod.
Unfortunately, the substratum theme doesn't work. Try to enable it after installation, it says I have to reboot phone, reboot and it's disabled again. Guess we're stuck with what we have. I don't want a custom rom...battery life on this phone is absolutely amazing and I don't want to chance messing with that. Thanks for the responses.
