Hi
I'm using the I545 Verizone that my cousin bought for me in the U.S.A
Basically the device is functioning great, but my problem is that I can not use asterisks at all.
I can not even get the number of the device with * # 06 # Does anyone have some kind of idea?
When I try to dial voicemail for example or numbers starting with * I get an error message MMI code wrong.
I've Given up on finding solutions, maybe someone here can help me please.
If you need more information I'll be happy to help.
I forgot to mention I work with MK2 but the problem was also the previous versions.

Hi there, I think I may have messed the phone up a little, such as this MMI error message which comes up so I can't use speeddial, or any other # code for that matters, also I can't disable call forwarding, and a few other things.
This must have been the result of rooting, etc. Is there an easy way to get my phone back to how it was (basically how it would be straight from the manufacturer, no root at all, just exactly how it was when I first bought it brand new?), bearing in mind I have also flashed it 3 times?
Cheers.
it might help if you said what you flashed it with? Details.
But if you are just wanting to flash back to stock, here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Read, and follow the instructions. They are very clear.

"Hi there, I first of all rooted my previously straight out of the box T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 using the xwkdd_insecure.tar (with Odin and SuperOneClick - I am a complete noob by the way, but this seemed to work after I followed a YouTube video), so that I could then unlock it to use 3 Mobile (in the UK) which I am on - I had bought this phone brand new and sealed from eBay (someone's unwanted upgrade). I then went on to using the free ChainFire sim unlock app, however I soon discovered that after all my phone can't have been locked in the first place as I just got a 00000000 code, never had to enter that and my sim worked having not previously tested it... Then I went on to flash it by using this file first - I9100XWKE7_StockKernel.tar - after seeing another YouTube video to purely debrand it but this only got rid of the yellow ! logo which appeared after rooting it, that is all.
So I then went on to using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064894
in order to debrand it of all T-Mobile stuff, such as the T-Mobile logo and trademark tune which came on after switching the phone on, and get it like a standard sim free/factory unlocked phone if you know what I mean. I used this file as mentioned in the link - I9100XWKDD_I9100XXKDH_I9100XEUKD1_HOME.TAR
The latter part of the guide goes on to entering #272*<IMEI># or something like that, but I have tried that all of the other alternatives and all I get is "USS code running" and like 2 seconds later the error message
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code" appears. I basically can't enter anything in my phone dial with # or * or whatever. What is wrong?
I have also noticed that whenever I call someone a message saying "Conditional call forwarding active" appears, but then proceeds to make the call okay. I have tried to disable and fiddle around with the call forwarding settings, phoned my network provider, but again, error messages come up.
What exactly is wrong and how can I fix it - I am a bit of a noob with all this....? It is surely something to do with all that stuff I have mentioned. Please help me as I honestly don't know how to go about fixing this. What is the most straightforward thing to do which will stop these messages?
Last of all, I flashed using the following, my phone seemed to be auto-rooted as I never had to root again? I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1.tar
Thanks in advance."
ok this phone a brand new, i can receive calls and text but when i dial a number and try to make a call the phone restarts
This is factory unlocked and not rooted
Try flashing a newer radio rom.
I dont want to root it incase i cant get the original rom back.
It is weird as, i have tried with every sim card to make calls and it works but when i put the 3 sim in does plays up
We experienced the same issue on some Turkish networks as well and flashing a newer radio rom fixed the problem. Flashing roms and rooting are totally different. What you need is a newer version of your current baseband ( radio rom ) sbf and official motorola software flasher " RSD Lite 5.3 "
Hope it helps.
Thank you so much for that Semseddin.
My problem solved, i just flashed it using RSD lite 4.9
Thanks everyone
Hi. I've been having the exact same issue. I've got an unlocked AT&T Atrix and I'm trying to use a Three UK sim (I'm in the UK). I'm a bit new to the world of android, can someone post a link to an appropriate Radio Rom?
Thanks for any help!!
OK after a little more web searching I've found a (sort of) solution -
"Here's a quick fix for it thou, (not permanent)....
1. type *#*#4636#*#* on the dialer
2. Chose Phone Information
3. Set preferred network to GSM only
Viola...its fixed
problem with this fix is that you wont be able to use your 3G network but the dialer should be working."
Problem is of course that you can't use your 3G connection. Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

Why is it always 3 that cause a problem?
When the Nokia N900 came out, that wouldn't work with 3 initially until a couple of updates later!

May not work for Pay as you go? I didn't think that it had 2G fall back?
Good for everyone!!
Sorry for my google's traductor english
I mention my case to see if with the help of all I can restore the phone.
After spending hours tinkering with the phone, turn it into a paperweight and reliving me realize I can not find a way to make the phone work properly.
The phone lights up, root access and the latest Cyanogen rom installed with the corresponding recovery.
The problem is that once you put on the sim that puts you never recognized. It asks me the pin and when I try to enter the dialpad to put a sequence to know, for example, if you have a lock on (step I made when the phone had the movistar rom) or simply to know the imei, it is trying to call and not open the menus.
I do not know if discovered and can serve as something that if I go into Settings - About Phone ANRO I have the version 2.3.5, 2.6.35.7 Kernel Version-perf-CL591990root @ dell126 # 1 and build number GINGERBREAD.XWKS3 . What baffles me and maybe come around the problem is that in the field puts Base Band Version Unknown. The same if I go into state gives me no information network, imei, network status, etc..
I tried also to urge a new modem, but not for that.
Has anyone had or has the same problem?
I appreciate your help in trying to help solve the problem.
If you need any additional information, be alert to tell you.
Greetings!
Hello everyone, and my apologies if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't sure where to post this.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Showcase (SCH-I500) running 2.3.7 and I recently installed Cyanogenmod 7 on it. Since I installed Cyanogen I have been unable to send or receive txt's. After doing some research I have concluded that it is a problem with my SMSC number. I have tried several numbers and used the PDU encoder found online all to no avail.
I have also noticed that after "updating" the SMSC number through the *#*#4636#*#* menu that after reboot if I click "refresh" nothing shows up in the box (not 00, just blank).
I have tried clean installed, and resets, but nothing is working. I have tried calling straight talk, and their technical support didn't even know what a SMSC number was same with the walmart store associate. Is there anyone here that can help me out?
PS: This is a Straight Talk phone and I believe I am on the Verizon network.
Hi Guys,
I am new to this I am after a little help with my LG G3 D855.
I brought this second hand and then found out it has no service and after trying different things over time I gave up on it and have been using an S5 but I would like to try and get working. I am a novice at this.
My phones problem.
It seems to recognize the sim because with no sim it tells you.
I have tried several #* combinations to unlock phone etc but nothing works.
When I checked the IMEI number it tells me the phone came from Germany and I am located in New Zealand and I think this may be the issue? (phone is not blacklisted)
Phone info.
Andriod version: 5
Kernel version 3.4.0
Software version V21a-eur-XX
Everything else works fine on phone including wifi just no service?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
