Bug List;
USB Mass Storage may not mount external sdcard. Use MTP instead.
Camcorder; if you get a "Cannot play this video" be ready for a crash and a battery pull. Recording is fine but playback could cause issues.
New feature as of 10/10/14
Plain-Tweak:
Ever wanted to control your kernel from a file on your internal storage? Now you can! There are currently 3 different ways
1.) Manually create a text file on the root of /sdcard named 'plaintweak' with the following values:
gov=(your choice of governor)
maxkhz=(max cpu clockrate for all cores)
minkhz= (min cpu clockrate for all cores)
scheduler=(choice of IO scheduler)
tcpcong=(choice of TCP Congestion control)
2.)Invoking the instruction 'plaintweak' with adb shell or Terminal Emulator.
3.)Separate aroma package for your device(not yet created) or through the rom installer.
When I run 'plaintweak' from aroma package adb shell or Terminal Emulator wouldn't it get overwritten?
No! Not at all. Your old settings are saved at /sdcard/plain-tweak listed by date.
Don't like the values? Want a different configuration? Rather use Performance Control or another app?
Simply rename your current plaintweak file or rename an older plaintweak file located in /sdcard/plain-tweak.
*hyperventilates* What in the world is this? :0
A quick kang I helped throw together. Found it to be somewhat stable in my own personal uses. I wanted to see the masses enjoy it as well.
For the builders; my build system has 2 new functions I added, 'eggs' and 'sausage'. It's for those rom builders that also do custom kernels.
eggs: builds only a kernel
sausage: builds 'eggs' on top of 'bacon'.
It also requires a special build script that will need modified and tailored to each device. See these commits:
In build:
https://github.com/Plain-Andy/android_build/commit/7c1d0dc8544cb0f62c7073d82df59b01e136d593
In kernel:

Does the audio issue happen all the time or just when you're on the desktop? I found the latest Google search switches me to the speaker whenever it's listening for OK Google, turning that feature off fixed it for me.

Camera & camcorder work?
The developer option "Kill app back button" isn't showing up for me. It's one of the first settings I enable after installing a new ROM.

+1 with root issues. I tried flashing with CWM then with PhilZ with no luck. I then tried flashing the superuser zip and the supersu zip and neither worked. For now, I am back to Talon.
PhilZ keeps returning Status 7. Tried reflashing fresh recovery, redownloading the ROM... I can't get it to install at all...

Anyone managed to write to build prop?
Why does it say unfortunately app n shortcut has stop...is that a bug..
So how can i edit the build prop if it doesn't seem to save it? I'm on this kernel and i think system is still not writing. Anyone got this working?? Please do tell us how?

I just changed it to Galaxy Nexus by using Root Explorer and it worked correctly.
Be sure you are on the latest kernel, as it is the only one that allows writing to /system while booted into android.

I can confirm that editing build prop does work and stick on reboot. Was able to make photosphere stop working and start working again as a test.
You may have to reboot one more time. After installing it I updated superuser and it had a read/write error. After rebooting it is fine.
And once again my phone hates any kernel that's out beside stock. I wonder what's the problem that my phone hasn't been able to run without freezing and rebooting

It's this s-off or a workaround?

According to the developer, neither. IDK, it seems like we can pretty much do anything now.
I posted a "stock" version. For those who cannot seem to run anything else without driving me nuts, um, I mean without problems.

very simple mod very simple op
*** THIS IS FOR THE CAP BUTTONS - Menu - Home - Back - Search - not for nav bar ***
since the new cm rebase kernel was pushed some things have changed.
my old enable/disable no longer works on the new rebase so here is the new zips
should work on all cm/aosp based 4.2.2 and 4.3 roms
disable: http://www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/13402-disable-capacitive-buttons-new-jd81
enable: http://www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/13403-enable-capacitive-buttons-new-jd81
for 4.1.2 roms use
disable: http://www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/639-disable-capacitive-buttons-jd81-zip
enable: http://www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/640-enable-capacitive-buttons-jd81-zip
just flash in recovery and reboot *put both zip's on your phone* flash disable and reboot, if you dont like it then flash enable and go on with your day
if this zip doesnt work for you *ie buttons still work after reboot* well then you dont have the proper rom,
either go on with your day or
-open a file manager
-go to /system/usr/keylayout
-delete the file sec_touchkey.kl
-reboot and go on with your day
Nice! Thanks Jamie, will definitely come in handy for me Pie/Nav bar addition!

edit: i updated op to link to older files
Thought I'd share this for anyone who wants to disable the capacitive button lights. Credit goes to the original post I found at..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2210765
To turn off capacitive button lights:
1. Download a file manager with root access. I used Root Browser.
2. Go to system/lib/hw
3. Find the file named 'lights.msm8660.so'
4. Rename it to anything such as "lights.msm8660.so.old"
5. Reboot.
So I just stumbled across this mod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272317
I.e. It's not mine and I take no responsibility or credit, but so far it's made my phone even more blazingly fast and buttery smooth. Make a nandroid and give it a shot! (you know if you want to of course...)

Just use APK?
I installed Busybox Free, so I think this will work?
*EDIT: It won't get superuser privledges, so it doesn't work. I know almost everything works with TWRP, but will this, since it was originally from a different forum?
*EDIT 2: I'm happy to confirm this works, both with TWRP and 4.2.2 ROMs (Well, at least Vanilla Rootbox)

Hey is your phone going into deep sleep when this is enabled?
After I installed this (I did the APK method, for some reason the .zip wasn't downloading.) my settings app closes on launch.
I can still go Menu Key > Lock/Home Screen Settings to get into the app, but I can't even use All Settings.
I uninstalled the app, but the problem is still there. Any ideas?
Ok guys. I'm posting this with hopes that I can get a little help on it. This is just a port and is VERY much an Alpha, so don't come and complain because things no worky.
Don't flash unless you know what you're doing!
If you brick your phone because you did something stupid, don't blame me.
Things that work-
It boots.
Soft keys(although they don't light up)/hard keys.
Proximity sensor.
Rotation.
Sound.
Vibration.
Things that don't work-
Phone/data/signal.
Bluetooth.
Wifi sort of works, it turns on and will scan successfully, but unable to connect.
Softkey lights.
Pretty sure GPS although I haven't tested it.
Storage is almost working.(Reads internal storage, but is linked wrong. Should be fixed next build.)
Camera- See above ^^
Probably more.
Like I said, it is just a preview and I am hoping to get someone on board that is able to help out.
One of the big things would be an updated 4.2.2 kernel WITHOUT SELinux. So if you know your way around kernel source and are feeling frisky, I wouldn't mind a kernel

Okay for data/signal depending on how they have their framework setup you need to add all your CM RIL from cm telephony-common.jar Decompile it and look for all the smalis with RIL in the name and phonefactory. Smali add all those smalis to smartisan telephony-common.jar /com/android/internal/telephony that should give you functioning data or a start to phone a radio log would help btw
Storage is related to storage-list.XML in framework-res.apk use the one from CM for your device(should resolve camera also but I recommend using Gallery2.apk from CM since it will 100% work)
Soft key lights is in Framework-res .apk /res/values/arrays.xml that controls button brightness and brightness levels/vibration
What device was this ported from?

I was able to get storage working for the most part. File manager shows everything at least. Camera and Gallery work, but Gallery only shows pictures that were taken after ROM was installed and doesn't show anything that is already on the device. I replaced the config_autoBrightnessButtonBacklightValues with the ones from CM. Still a no go for the button lights but that's not anything major haha. Tried copying the ril files you mentioned and now it won't let me open settings.

How to Update to MIUI V5
1. If you’re using recent MIUI V5 developer verison, you can get the OTA via Updater-Check update.
2. If you’re using older MIUI V4 version, you may flash the full rom of MIUI V5 to update: Updater-Menu-Download lastest full ROM.3. If you update across different versions (i.e. Update from stable version to developer version), please fully wipe all data to avoid data conflict. And please don’t forget to back up data before flashing (Settings-System-Backup & reset-Back up my data)

Thanks buddy, I didn't recognized it on MIUI web site. Let me put credit for you.
I'm on the 4.3 NEE Stock ROM.
I failed to install 4.1.2 yesterday (Knox?), so I'll see if this goes on.
Second visit to MIUI, it's a little too iPhoney for me, but I'll see how this update goes.
Work this in note 2. Att (Tolteatt)....
Works good on my i317m except when i put the phone in my multimedia dock it crashes. But I believe that's a CM thing not a MIUI thing as the TW version does not do this
Correction Bluetooth will not turn on

miui was design to be "iphoney"
phone doesn't seemed to recognized the music I have stored in my NTFS-formatted sdcard. Though the "explorer" app can recognize my sdcard without any problems.

Thats true its due to CM because TW supports it but it will be great if you give me log cat logs during the crash situation to ask Miui dev team to advice on it.

I dont have any issue with Knox boot loader. If you use philz recovery and flashing from zip after cleaning the stuff. It should go smooth.
Good luck
