[HELP] Sudden Battery Drain - HTC One X+

Hi, I've been usin hox+ for 1 month now but I have a huge problem. I'm using stock rooted rom 4.2.2 and with elitekernel.
When the phone battery is on the %90 or %80 or some times at %40 the phone shutsdown and when I try to turn on it becomes %0 or %10 at the battery.
So i thought it caues because of my old kernel ( Speedy ) and I've flashed a new one ( eliteKernel ) . I tried installing different rom and see what happens. Still no change...
Some times it never happens but it normally happens a lot. maybe twice a day.. ıf any one had this kind of issue please let me know and if you have a solution please share with us. :victory:

Wait, you charge your phone (up to 100% of course), leave it sleeping and it shutdowns even twice a day?
There is a known bug with HOX+ with the battery level after the 4.2 update, but it's not that harmful as you described.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578185

Exactly that happens randomly. No idea what is the problem is. I will change the battery in a week and if anything changes i will post here

This is what happens. A screenshot added below.

Do I see it right? The screen is on all the time? Why don't you simply charge your phone and leave it dreaming...
Have you checked if your phone goes into deep sleep with e.g. Wakelock detector tool?

Nope the screen is not on all time. I use it as a normal user. I dont know why doed it shows like that. I disabled the deep sleep because it disables the mobile network when the screen off.

Are you sure? Without deep sleep it drains your battery very fast. Re-enable it. Don't worry about mobile network. While your phone is in deep sleep, it will wake up from time to time, connect with the internet to check for new activities, disconnect and go back sleep.
Plus, deep sleep is something all smartphones users want . You are the first one whom I've met, which doesn't want deep sleep .

Reenabled the deep sleep and still the same. Dies at %40

Huge battery drain...

What on earth is draining my battery so bad? On 4 hour charge w/ screen on for a little over 1 hour and i got 47% battery left...display is 77% drain. Is there an app thats draining my batt like mad? I got 4g off, wifi off, gps off, and bluetooth off...and i've been in a strong Sprint area the whole time. What's the deal?

evo3d comes with a task manager, check whats on and kill it. i do it often
Try watchdog.. it will notify you if an app is above threshold.

i had a similar issue, nothing i did helped out... i ended up doing a factory reset and it seemed to resolve the issue. i have most of the same apps i had before and im getting great battery life now.

Try using OS monitor from the market. Go through the settings, change the sorting method to "load" and watch for BS running that shouldn't be.
Try and put.it.in ur car's battery to.see if.it last longer

Try using CPU Spy to see if you're phone is going into deep sleep properly.
That sounds like you got a bad battery, even if the phone is not sleeping it should last longer than that. I would reset to see if maybe your batt stats got corrupted and if that doesn't do anything see if Sprint will give you another battery to try.

The only time I had really bad battery life was with the overclock kernal. I ghetto adb'd it to my phone around 12est and by 6pm est it was dead not low battery but completly dead. I poped the battery out reverted to stock temp rooted it without overclock now im back to the 12 hours heavy use 2 days with min usage.

Not bad at all for me. Of course it drops a hell of a lot quicker if you leave the screen on 24/7 but mine will still last 5-6 hours while listening to pandora over bluetooth and with the screen constantly on browsing the web. When not being used constantly it lasts a lot longer.
I have confirmed wakelock, started last night. I'm totally stock, no overclocking or anything.
How do I go about figuring out what's causing it?
Our you could just not use your phone. Then your battery will katy all day.
In all seriousness though, if you haven't already go to settings> wireless & networks> mobile networks & turn off always on data. You won't notice a difference in anything except your battery life will increase. Also, turn off automatic screen brightness & set it somewhere comfortable for you. All that brightness adjusting will drain on the battery. 3D movies, pictures & video will drain it as well. Also as someone else mentioned, check the built in real manager every once in a while. You would be surprised at some of the apps still running in the background even though you haven't used then in a while.
Just a few suggestions. If you have ashley tried all of this then wait until e can flash Roms & Kernels or buy the Seidio monster 4000mah battery.

No Sleep Mode

My GS2 will not sleep. It used to be just fine but two months ago I noticed after leaving my phone alone for two hours thar the batter went from full to 30. It constantly happens. I don't use the phone or even touch it and than when I check it and hour or two later its damn near dead. Is there a reason my phone isn't sleeping when its not I'm use?

There's an app that's eating your battery. Download an app called better battery stats and leave your phone alone. Then start that app and see which things have the most usage

See that little box that says search at the top? Use that thing.
There's some program not allowing the phone to deep sleep. Look around on how to find what's causing that to happen. (Wakelock)

on and off wifi usage, viber, 9gag, few calls and still i got 18% on single charge running for 2days and 4hours. after that it went upto 2days 10hrs at 4% at which i put to charge again.
i m not using any apps to get more battery. my theory is if you keep the ram cleaned with the provided task manager in between, you can get some more. as for display brightness it keep in manual mode, cos when you have to keep the sensor running and the screen suddenly gaining brightness on and off it will take some juice outta of your battery. plus not much of a gamer on mobile.
Something went wrong.

standby of this phone is pretty amazing
Must say battery of the DX is quite amazing.
According to the pics i have seen there can be much more squeezed out of the battery.
Running a beta of Elegancia (far from ready) with a tweaked kernel and battery improvement inside the rom...
Charged it before sleep and didn't shut it down, I usualy shut it down to save battery when asleep, pretty good stand by, only lasts 5 hours when using.

My legit and the best battery life so far. Usage: downloaded a lot of games total 400+mb ish, whatsapp a lot, gaming for 1 hour, music for 2 hours, 15 mins browsing the web, I just preferred to browse on my pc anyway, and standby deepsleep for 12 hours.
I'm still impressed.
Oh also I froze all the apps that prevents deepsleep such as google+ and google maps.

Some parts of it need root access. But it should still give you the wake locks. Just let it run in the background and check it after a min of 5hrs

Only getting about 4-5 hours of Screen-on time? This might help!

Hi.
I am used to get about 4h30min-5 hours max but after doing this little trick I am getting 3 hours 20 minutes with 55% battery left.
The trick is to go into settings- apps- all, find android system and force close it. Don't worry, it will start up again immediately but the battery draining process seem to be killed.
Android OS is no longer the one causing the most battery drain. Android system has settled down too. Check it out!
(It seems like I got another problem to solve - Facebook is draining a whole lot now cos it's using the GPS. Still getting amazing battery life though!)

Coming from a Droid RAZR, you learn a lot of tricks to milk battery life. Trust me, the things I had to do to get those numbers aren't worth it. The drop off in the battery graph is when I got home and was able to turn everything back on and use it normally.
Right now, I average 18 hrs battery, and 5 hrs screen-on:
I am on stock ROM 11A.
Rooted and TWRP
Screen brightness set to auto/60% max
GPS and WiFi toggled on when I need it.
Everything on EXCEPT WiFi and Verizon location services
No disabled or frozen system apps or processes.
4 push emails.
I average 600 texts a month.
I average 6-8 GB on 4G a month.

For your Facebook GPS wakelock, let it connect and lock onto your GPS and the wakelock should stop. If you're closing up Facebook before it has a chance to lock, it will create the wakelock. If you don't want FB to connect to your GPS, make sure GPS is off before you open FB. Also, turning off GPS while in FB before it can lock will create the wakelock as well.

Actually, the numbers are legit. I will admit though, I've never been able to get close to that again. My average when I first got the phone was between 6-7 hours screen on time and about 12 hours battery life. Those 2 days, I just happened to be working massive overtime. Almost all of the screen on time was the second day. The dropoff on the graph was when I got home, turned everything on, and actually used it. It also helped that my work provides me a work phone which I was using during that time instead.
I have tried to hit those numbers again, but I can't, it was a one time deal which is why I took a screenshot. In my head, I'm telling my self that the battery is starting to get worn, but the truth is, I can't put it down long enough or put up with all of the disabled features.
The best I've been able to do since then is 18 hours battery life, about 3 hours screen on. And, 7 hours screen on, 10 hours battery. At this point, I no longer care. I'm happy with my 15 hours battery and 4-5 hours screen on.
It would be more if the battery wasn't starting to wear out....
