Before rooting my phone and switching over to the GPE rom, can anyone test for me if the spotify app can be successfully converted to tablet mode and is able to manually select and skip tracks? Thanks in advance

Hey,
I recently went to the Android Police website and they had a new app in one of their roundups called "Switch Me". Its a profile switcher so if you have kids that you allow to play on it or your wife, friends, co workers...whoever. This app allows you to create multiple profiles (user accounts just like windows) and basically lock everyone out of your own profile and let them use their own HOWEVER!..the app devs advised to create a nandroid first as
"if you create and switch to a profile that exceeds the available memory switching into this profile will cause bootloop as Android attempts to unsuccessfully build the Dalvic cache. Before proceeding the use we recommend that you perform a full Nandroid backup through recovery."
Far as i know theres no way to create a nandroid and boot into recovery to flash it and from the reviews there are a few individuals who have installed and began using this application on their TFP so to the community devs and exp. Android players out there reading this..is it safe or is this a no go in your books until bootloader is unlocked? Let me know or if theres a more stable alternative app that someone knows of I would appreciate the info as well. TANKS

Hi. Im the developer. Its perfectly safe, no need for a custom recovery.
Hi, I'm going to buy a TF300 today for my mother, but the device is also to be used by our children, so the Switch Me option would be great.
I tried it on my HTC One X and I thought the app needed root, but I cannot think Asus would allow that.
Please enlighten me!
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a way to automate the installation of applications, setting up the phone as in: placing shortcuts on the homescreen, changing various settings etc. It is on new phones, straight out of the box, so I don't think Titanium Backup is a solution. I'm wanting to automate the process as much as possible.
I've played a bit around with adb install, which works fine except that the applications I install are not registered as installed in the Market (can't uninstall or update them, only open).
Has anyone had a similar issue which they managed solved? I would be grateful for some pointers.
Best solution I've seem to be able to find is something along the lines of; http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...o-change-settings-or-perform-tasks-on-a-phone
Anyone, please?
App Backup Restore by infolife
Just keep clicking "done" and "install"
I think this will help you. if it does please THANK me.

What do you mean?
Depends how automatic u want it. This app just needs u to keep touching the install button. I don't think u can make it any easier.
App Backup Restore,
Once u use it to backup apps, and want to restore them, it launches all the install screens/package installers together. So u install one, the other install screen is right behind. Just keep touching install Byron

I've flashed my ACRO S to CM9.1 because there were some annoying problems with stock ROM, like:
1. AUTOSTARTS cannot work.
2. Samba file sharing cannot work.
] Samba File sharing is a very useful tool that makes android devices into a samba server over wifi. but the author of the app seems not to update anymore. yet there is some problem when running this app in stock ICS roms. like can't auto starts with system, cannot autostarts when connected to a wifi network, taking too long to get server enabled, system windows "no respond" shows up. etc. in a ROOTED acro S with stock roms.
3. Delays almost 10secs. when making calls by click from call history after just hang up another call.
4. Market Unlock pro cannot auto start with system.
==================================================
Now i really want the stock camera app back. so i think it's time for me to consider flash back to stock rom or some other roms based on it.
could somebody tell me new stock rom or MIUI roms etc. still have the problems?
Thank you!
anybody knows?
Hello everybody,
I am new to this site. I just need your help. I rooted my galaxy s2 and installed deodexed rom with multi window feature. But the thing is that I accidently deleted default video player and now I am not able to play videos on tv via all share. I dont want to install that ROM again. So I just want its default video player and the instruction on how can I install that. pls reply me asap
You should be able to re-install the ROM without wiping data/cache and ensure that the video player is checked (if using Aroma installer).
Alternatively, you may be able to find an .apk and install from your SD.
There are many other third party video players in the play store as well - some, arguably better!

There's always an .apk ! Check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204423 .
If not, reinstall the ROM but no need to wipe if re-installing if that's what was putting you off doing it.

Hi everyone,
I have been looking at this forum for sometime without signing up amazing developers and ideas here.
I just have a quick question I am a data privacy freek and I basically have an android tablet that I want to wipe it clean completely so it won't even turn on just to nothing.
Then I want to install a fresh version of android again.
If you know of any guides that will help me out please post them so I don't take up much of your time. Even if someone could just write me a small tutorial?
It will be much appreciated,
Kind regards,
David

Hi there,
Well I won't back up from a challenge,
anyways there is a way but it requires alot of steps
doing a full system erase wont delete the apps however you can root the tablet so you can remove the app permanently. The apps you talk about are system apps which are impossible to remove without rooting your tablet. If your okay with ANDROID ROOTING HERE ARE THE STEPS;
1. SINCE YOU'RE USING AN UNKNOWN BRAND YOU CAN ROOT YOUR TABLET VIA KINGO ROOT
HERE IS THE LINK: https://www.kingoapp.com/
2. REMEMBER TO TURN OFF FIREWALL AND ANTIVIRUS
3. AFTER DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING FOLLOW THE ON SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS.
4. AFTER SUCCESSFULLY ROOTING YOUR DEVICE YOU MAY PROCEED TO GOOGLE PLAY AND DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL TITANIUM BACKUP AND RESTORE
5. AFTER INSTALLING THAT OPEN THE APP
6. OR IF YOU WANT YOU CAN INSTALL ANY SYSTEM APP REMOVER APP FROM GOOGLE PLAY ITSELF
7. BUT I RECOMMEND THE TITANIUM IT HAS MORE FEATURES AND MAYBE IT MIGHT BE HARD FOR YOU BUT STILL TRY THE APP OUT
THERE YOU GO ALL THE UNWANTED APPS ARE GONE NOW HOWEVER IF YOU USED TITANIUM APP THERE IS AN OPTION TO REMOVE THE APP PERMANENTLY SO WHEN YOU ERASE THE TABLET NEXT TIME THE UNWANTED APPS WON'T BE THERE
