After months of being dead I was able to use Jscullins Debrick to bring my touchpad back from the brink. I had to doctor it back to stock with web os. What are you guys recommendations on rooting this and which roms to check out first.

I used to have a Samsung Moment where I downloaded custom roms from here and basically played with the phone. I have since bought the Epic 4G and given the Moment to my fiance. She doesn't want any of the custom roms on the phone, she wants it back to stock completely ... however I went back and ran the Sprint utility re-loading the OS, but when you first power the phone on it has the Haxsung xda-developers loading screen ... is there any way to get that reverted back to the factory screen?
We don't have a thread about how to return to stock HD2 with latest ROM after you have messed with it. I bricked my HD2 trying to go back to stock.
Can someone with more experience and chip in if this is the proper way of going back to stock?

I'd like to document how to go back to stock from different ROMs on T-Mobile and what not to do to brick your phone.
1. Do not install RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship.exe
Thank you.
yesterday i reverted back to the stock rom you mentioned but (luckily) i have not encountered any problem..

The main point of getting the stock T-Mobile US rom is to download it from T-Mobile official site - if you are lost in digits and abbreviations in the rom names.
You should go there http://dl.htc.com/ruudownload/t-mobileUS/DeviceDownloads.aspx?pid=leo2 , insert your IMEI and download latest available software update. It's a version 3.14.531.1 named RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_3.14.531.1_Radio_Signed_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_2_Ship.exe and IMEI check will make you sure that it's exactly for your model.
It was written so many times here and you anyway decided that one more thread about it will be more useful than older ones.
Sorry about creating a new thread but I could not find any info on how to get it back to stock, the ones I found were obviously not for T-Mobile which I learn the hard way.
Does anyone know how to bring it back to life?
When I plug it in, I see in Device Manager as:
Qualcomm CMDA Technologies MSM.
I can't turn the phone on at all. When I plug it in, I hear the sound that computer makes when you plug in USB Device but nothing else happens.
Returning to stock is the same for tmous as it is for regular. The key difference is that if you use the wrong stock rom on a regular it doesn't brick it,, which is what you have done to yours.
Had you used a tmous stock rom it would have been fine,,,, if you had used hspl3 /Hspl4 to remove hspl before flashing the wrong rom it wouldn't have let you flash and it would still work.
There are hundreds of threads documenting this.
If you still have warranty, use it. Its so bricked they can't tell you screwed with it.
other options - JTAG or new mainboard.
Download and install the lastest Windows 6.5 update from your carrier to get back to stock.

There are people who offer JTAG services specifically for the HD2. It'll cost you $50 give or take. But they can unbrick it for sure.

Hello, im new to the android scene as i am coming from apple. I have a Samsung Captivate and i have recently rooted my phone. I learned about CydrogenMod and looked into it and i wanted to install it on my phone. As i was flashing ClockworkRecovery my phone went into this mode and i cant get out of it. I tried plugging and unpluging and i also tried to go into recovery and download mode but nothing works. It just keeps going into this screen. Help would be very much appreciated. The image is attached to the post.
First please post in your device forum. You will be able to get better answers. Next do a search for USB jig. This will fix your problem. While your at it. Please for the love of all that is tech. Take a few hours and read up on what your doing before you do it. Flashing roms is nothing like the childsplay that is jail breaking an iPhone.

Hello,
I reciently rooted my samsung galaxy s2. I tried a few roms so i could get used to the system or restoring etc. However i encountered a problem whilst having a peek at an alpha jellybean rom, where i noticed that my CWM app on the phone had vanished? I attempted the restore using the 3 button combo and found that i kept recieveing E: can't mount/ E: can't cache messages whilst on the restore screen. i could find my latest restore on my sd card however it wouldnt restore. I believe the CWM was removed from my phone which caused it to not work. I was then stuck in a bootloop. no matter what i done, boot to a stock rom via odin, try the different CF roms i and try to put CWM back on to the phone? I read a post on here from someone who had the same problem, who was told it looked as though there is a problem with the partitions. i followed a tutorial and used odin to put Latona 20110114.pit on the phone. it said i would get a blank screen once this has done and i needed to remove then place the battery back in the phone then put it into download again. This didnt happen!! I done as instructed and now my phone wont go into recovery mode, download mode or even boot loop. I fear i have completely bricked my phone so i am trying to use oneclick heimdall to sort it however my PC keeps saying i need admin rights to install it which i have.
Can someone please help me out. I am new to this so please go easy on me.
many thanks
If you have no signs of life from the phone, it's probably cactus.
You might as well try a jig (but unlikely to work; still try one tho). Only option is service centre & hope they can't tell/don't care you've been messing with it & fix it under warranty or JTAG repair by a 3rd party repairer, at your cost obviously; will be cheaper than having Samsung/an authorised repairer fix it if they refuse warranty service which they're quite within their rights to do.

First result of searching suggests that's meant for the I9003. Good job.

Hello,
Awe well then. never mind eh, whats done is done! Its totally bricked so i thought i would chance my luck by sending it back to O2 for repair. I was reading the only other way to get the phone running again was to take it to bits and hook it up for some stock flashing. so heres hopping they sort it!
lesson learnt!!!
This may turn out a bit long...
My s2 has been playing up in one way or another for a few months now such as freezing, turning itself off and kept going into drive mode by itself then last week all my messages deleted and I couldn't send or receive any more and then the next day it turned itself off and I can't get it back on properly. It turns on, goes onto the Samsung Galaxy S2 screen then onto the O2 welcome screen then to the screen with the flashing S then just goes between that and the O2 screen over and over again. Been looking for help the last few days and the main thing I could find was to go into recovery mode and restore it but I can't do that because my home key doesn't work. So nor could I do the second thing I read could help which was to go into download mode and flash it. I didn't even know anything about recovery mode, download mode, flashing, rom, odin or anything else until last week. My phone is exactly as I bought it. I then read about a usb jig which would force it into download mode which I got today and it didn't do anything. I actually couldn't care less about the phone, I would love to just smash it to bits! BUT is there any chance I will ever be able to do anything get it back on just once so I can get my photos and videos off it? I've connected it to the computer but it comes up as an Android Modem so that I can't get the files off that way and it won't connect through Kies either. I know sending it to be repaired would end up with it coming back totally wiped so no point doing that. I normally wouldn't be so bothered it's just there's pictures of my daughter's first birthday and holiday and videos of her first steps. Is there anything else that can be done? Thanks.
There's a 0.000001% chance the phone will boot normally & your stuff will be intact if you can get into download mode & flash a one part stock rom. The more likely scenario is you'll need to flash a 3 part rom which will wipe the device.
You could try ADB to get into download mode, but you're going to need to be motivated to learn how to use it (plenty of tutorials on XDA/elsewhere; search). If that doesn't work for whatever reason, try fixing the home button.
Being a former betting man though, I don't like your chances of recovering data.

Thanks for replying. I don't have a clue what a one part or three part rom are sorry! Doesn't look good then. I'm so annoyed. I had planned to sort through my files and get them backed up last weekend because I knew this would end up happening and the stupid phone died on Thursday! I don't think fixing my home button would help because the volume button didn't work much either, it's a wreck to be honest! Had a quick look at ADB, looks complicated but I'll have a proper look later on as a final hope otherwise I'll just have to accept my files are gone for good
Just an update...tried to get into download mode with adb but it doesn't find my phone. Is this because it only comes up as an android modem by any chance? Think I may have to give up hope. At least I will learn from this and back things up a lot more often!
