I'm totally stock and I updated to kitkat a few days ago. But I've noticed after I start typing for about 5 seconds, my phone locks up and doesn't reply to touch for another 5 seconds. This also happens when attempting to scroll through messages, the internet, or even playing games. It keeps locking up. I did a factory reset and it didn't do a damn thing.
Also, I keep getting told my wifi connection is unstable and I'm a good 10 ft from the router.
Someone please tell me what I can do. My phone is not rooted. And I'm hoping I can solve this without root.
Did you do a full factory reset after installing it? You could also try flashing the full tar.md5 in PC Odin and do a full reset after everything installs and settles down.

Yes I did. I'm so confused and upset cause I thought kitkat was supposed to be better. Now I'm afraid my phone is all messed up.

The stock I/O scheduler for NAB is cfq i have found that changing it to deadline or noop works better. See this post for more information thanks @cun7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649820
You need to be rooted and a cpu manager I use "CPU Adjuster" free from Play Store.

Rooting the phone shouldn't be an answer to a stock ota update that caused my phone to get lock ups.
Can anyone confirm this happening to them as well, or suggest a solution?
Stock unrooted 4.4.2 NAB build running just fine here. No force closes or lockups so far.

No I did not. Can you please tell me how?
Also, I read reported instances of this happening but only on the nexus 4 or 7. I believe it's called ghost touches, or phantom touches or something. Even as I'm typing this it locks up and the screen becomes unresponsive for a little while. I liked 4.3 way better.

Probably you have bad flash, my suggestion is to flash the stock NAB again check that the file is not bad with the md5, or test that you do not have faulty hardware touch screen using a touchscreen tester found in app store. I used Odin 3.09 and it worked since the first time no problem.

Ok.
Does anyone know how to calibrate the tilt of our phones?
It seems mine has somehow got screwed up
EDIT : SOLVED !
Here's how i did it
1)The code for the menu is 3845#*500#, Type it in the dialer
2)Select 'Device Settings'
3)Get this app and put your phone in a perfectly horizontal position, don't go stand on a slope or something [this step is very important]
4)Select Calibrate Sensor in the secret menu
It will then search for the available sensors, 6 of them will popup, but select the one which has the word 'accelerometer' in it. They are some pretty confusing names but the accelerometer sensor has the word 'accelerometer' in it. Don't select any other sensor.
4)Wait for 3-4 minutes and your phone will reboot.
5)Voila !!
Notes -
1)Calibrate your sensor only of it is screwed up bad, as in you play some game and the the car/person/doodle just moves around randomly
2)These don't work on custom roms, not even rom based on stock LG ROM's. I tried on v10e stock romania and it worked.
3)If your accelerometer is only 'uncalibrated' by a slight bit, DON'T use this method as it is pretty dangerous. Instead games like PapiJump and MypaperPlane 2 have the option to calibrate the accelerometer. Use them
4)If you are using a ROM with an unsupported kernel [like Phoenix with fserves kernel or Miks 6.5.8 with francos .35 GB kernel] the accelerometer won't work, period. So don't flash unsupported kernels with any random ROM's. If you don't know which kernel supports which ROM, Go right here
I'm not sure if wiping rotation settings in recovery will help but you can try.

Ok, tried bro.
Still no change
Download a level app from the market and make sure it is actually screwed up. If it is, wipe cache and dalvik cache and if it still doesnt work, make a nandroid backup, wipe data and system (And all caches off course) and reinstall your ROM. Then install a level app again and if it still screwed up, send to LG Service.

Ok lets start from the beginning. Please describe your problem and provide some details (what do you mean by tilt? Do you mean the accelerometer? When do you encounter this problem? When did you first notice the problem? Have you been using tweaks?, etc)
What rom and kernel are you using? Sorry if it's already in your signature (you can't see the sig in the app)

Yeah, its the problem in the accelerometer [i think]
I'm on andy's ROM v17 using .35 kernel.
I installed this ROM a few days ago, however i played doodle jump just yesterday.
I noticed that the doodle just kept moving sideways when my phone was perpendicular.
I noticed the same problem while playing nfs shift and asphalt, the cars just keep moving towards the right
Yesterday at night [i got pissed] and i kdzed to 10e then tried playing on the stock rom, but still the same problem.
I'm not using any tweaks AT ALL, just OC.
I've read that there is some command to type in the terminal emulator/adb in order to reset the vectors, but i cannot seem to find them.
Here is another similar problem on a different phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19291776#post19291776
I also had the same problem on miks 6.6.1 when playing asphalt 5.But after i deleted Asphalt 5 and reebooted phone, the problem had gone.
these are the only things ive found (but i really doubt if they work):
1. use apps that have a calibration function built in (however i think this only calibrates for the app, not the entire system in general)
2. rotate the phone around all three axes several times (not sure if this will help, but it doesnt hurt to give it a try)
3. ive also read something about using the hidden service menu, but you need to be using stock (i just took a look at it but all i found were tests and nothing about actual calibration, however i might be wrong)

See my first post.
I used that app to get it in the right position and then long pressed home to go back to the menu, then went forward with the calibration.
My menu had a certain version, don't remember cause i just flashed phoenix but it was 0.6xx ..It kinda looks like the custom recovery but it is in the form of a popup [like the one which shows ur call balance]
Also when it started rebooting, it arrived at the LG logo and then again shutdown on its own and restarted again.
I tried the menu thing in andys rom, but nothing pops up.
I guess its only 'stock exclusive'
AS goes for the menu there were the following options - [some which i can remember] factory reset, factory version, Device settings, auto test, LCD, bluetooth, WAP or WAN something laddat...more which i dun remember.
The calibrate thing is under device. There were a gazillion tests under the same subheading [touchscreen, camera, mdpi[?], fmradio..etc]
It also wiped off my root.
It would be nice if sweetnsour could include this in his sticky

When i am playing papijump, the ball is jumping towards the left side even when the phone is on a straight surface.

whenever i download something from the store or update an app but notification that the download has completed continues to reappear after being cleared. i can hit the x and clear everything or i can swipe off each notification - no matter what i do these notifications will continue to appear for days on end. the only way to get rid of these notifications is to clear app data. obviously, this isn't very convenient as i have to do it all the time if i want the notifications gone.
anyone else have similar problems or have any idea why this is occuring? i've owned a bunch of android devices and i've never seen this

I would try a cold boot if a normal reboot doesn't work.
While prime is turned off, just hold volume down and the power button until white text appears. Then do nothing until it boots up. This will clear your cache and (hopefully) any problems.

4.0.4 latest firmware PDA:LFB/ PHONE:LFB / CSC:LF3 (XSG)
Are you using a custom ROM/kernel? If then, return to all stock.

First advice is to stop worrying about cache/memory. Let android handle it. Second try and uninstall cleaner app, reboot and then see

There's always a delay when pressing the home button when waking up the phone. This is a hardware problem and the S II, the Note and some other Samsung phones all suffer from it. However 2-3 seconds is too much. Go into S-Voice and disable the "double tap activation" in its settings. It should speed things up a bit.
maybe do a factory wipe/reset?

I have an issue that I cannot pinpoint the cause of figure out a solution to. Maybe someone here can help.
My Sprint G3 is always crashing and rebooting the launcher (phone doesn't turn off, just closes evwrything). I'd be in the middle of any app and it will randomly close every single app. The running apps page always displays after every crash. It's as if too much ram is being used, but it will happen even after a fresh phone restart and launching something simple like WhatsApp.
My phone is rooted via the Stump one click method. I don't have any type of rooted mods enabled, only Adfree. I use Nova launcher (paid & updated).
Is there some sort of event viewer that will log the activity of the phone so I probably someone here can see what might be causing the phone to crash? I'm tempted to Unroot and restore back to stock... But if I can avoid that, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks. I've reverted my adfree hosts file and uninstalled it. But I think the issue persists. If I try to use any app that clears cache, specifically Clean Master, when it's doing the scan of apps it'll crash midway through the scan. If I go to system settings > Apps & wait for all the downloaded apps to load the details, it'll crash there too.
This is the oddest thing.
Edit:
This visual may help. It's a video of me running Clean Master & seeing how it just crashes. I can replicate this issue every time like this, but the crashes are random when using other apps.

Ok, so I began uninstalling some apps that I thought may have been the issue... Which they weren't as the crashing still continues. I decided to reboot under safe mode and the problem occurs there too.
I honestly cannot recall if this began before or after rooting with stump. I may have to Unroot & factory restore. =/

Did you uninstall Stump after getting root?
Have you froze or uninstalled any system apps/ priv-apps?
It might even be Nova is having issues.

Tried to unroot but the phone doesn't move past the "Firmware Update. Do not unplug the phone..." screen after holding Volume Up & plugging into the computer. I installed the drivers before hand. But the "CDC Serial" doesn't update. I attempted to manually update the driver by browsing for the folder, but no go.
I may end up having to go to Sprint and exchange the phone for another one.

TL;DR version = Yes, I did fix it. Factory restore did the trick.
A few days after my last post the phone wasn't as bad as the video. It would still crash and reset but mainly after heavy app usage or when trying to clear app cache using any app like Clean Master.
Once my storage reached about 40% used and I couldn't clear the cache, I began to get constant Play Store error messages. No apps would update. I think it was error 483 or something close to hat number.
Since I couldn't flash back to stock because the drivers wouldn't install, I gave up and tried a factory reset. I nearly sh-t myself bc once I confirmed the restore, the phone didn't want to automatically reset per the instructions. I pressed the button multiple times and nothing. I pulled the battery and when I turned it back on, I got the initial screen with the "powered by android" and then black. It did not wanna do anything. Pulled battery again, same outcome. It left it for maybe 10min and still nothing.
I was ready to go back to sprint and see if I could exchange the phone. While researching the closest store, the phone beeped and the initial android setup screen appeared. This was about 25min of waiting on a black screen.
The phone is now back to working order and it's still rooted. There must have been a corrupt file that was erased/restored once the g3 decided to behave.

TL;DR version = Yes, I did fix it. Factory restore did the trick.

Congrats!
My G3 is crashing in the similar manner as the video you uploaded.
Except that it only happens when I'm in office connected to office wifi with almost no cellular reception.
On top of that, as far as I could tell... only two apps are causing the launcher to crash... the game Clash of Clans and LINE.
Very very strange....
Hi, i own a Samsung GS7 edge and I've just updated to Android 7.0. Everything has been fine and I've had no bigger problems with it, until yesterday when my emoji button, on my stock Samsung keyboard, totally disappeared. My device is not rooted, and I really wonder what the heck happened. Can someone please help me? Is there something I can do without having to master reset the phone? I have tried to wipe the cache, you know when you turn your phone off and hold down the volume down button, and that doesn't seem to work... Right now I'm using the GBoard, but I like the Samsung keyboard better.
I am thankful for help. :crying:

I've just done that and apparently it didn't work... any other ideas? There's also some kind of bar at the top of my keyboard which I absolutely don't know where it came from, and I honestly don't like it either.
I am thankful for all the advices you guys can give me:crying:

Ok, definitely the rom isn't stable yet, and the problem might be fixed in newer updates.
For now, you can download the latest stock rom for your phone and country and flash it with Odin that might override the faulty app, and also a replacement for "factory reset".
anyway, if i were you i wouldn't do that because it's a risk of bigger issues, there are many keyboards available and better than Gkeyboard, like SwiftKey or TouchPal
Right now.
I'm using Xperia Keyboard, although it's only available for Xperia phones, but some helpful XDA members managed to port it and make it installable as a normal apk, if you want the link, i will give it to you
