Will changing DPI change the number of columns on screen? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using neatrom KitKat ROM with the KitKat launcher. My trouble is that the home screen has 5 columns and most widgets of the widgets I use are 4 columns and therefore are off centre which looks weird. I can't find any settings in the Google launcher to change this so I was wondering if changing the DPI would adjust this, and does anyone know what DPI that would be? Yes I know I could just switch to a custom launcher but other than the number of columns I do really like the Google launcher.
Thanks in advance

[Q] Is it possible to change the number of default rows (MotoBlur)

Is it possible to change the number of rows or columns on MotoBlur UI? Obviously, the default is 4x4 but can I change it to 5x4?
I know it can be done on other launchers but I'm just asking about MotoBlur.

does anyone know if they changed the inability to edit the number of home pages in motoblur on 2.3.4?
I'm using ADW and it does the job fine.

For everyone that uses Apex on ICS

What do you have the columns and rows set to in apex setting? Also what dpi are you on. I can't figure out what the best set up is for columns and rows to where everything will fit (i.e. widgets) and look symmetrical. I'm on a dpi of 280 by the way.
I have it on portrait grid 6x5 but something just doesn't look right
always 7x7 with label disabled.
Yeah 7x7 @ any dpi (constantly switching between stock 320 and 240-220)

7x7 no labels 260dpi

I'm running 7x7 at 214 dpi. Love the look.
Dpi of 314 will allow you to fit the digital clock on apex launcher. I like the 5X5 setting so everything doesn't look so small.

You can do that without changing the columns to 6?

You only need 6 columns to add it. Once it's there, resize the clock to 5 columns, and then set the homescreen back to 5 columns.

Mine is 4 x 5 by default.
Yes, your right it is 4x5 but I wasn't taking the bottom row into account bc it was locked to just icons. Thanks for the info as I'll just get a nodded apk for this. Was hoping there would be an easy Configuration setting.
Thanks for the help!

you can do a 5x5 using nova launcher :good:
Unfortunately neither Nova nor Apex render that nice icon shadow as the Touchwiz launcher does. I know it's a small detail but I like it a lot of and hated it when I lost it. (Using Apex now.)

As far as I know, it is not possible. With the stock launcher you're stuck with a 5x5 grid. If you want to be able to change it, you might want to consider using a 3rd party launcher such as Nova or Apex.
Yeah...I just love the stock launcher...huge difference in battery life using stock as well
