What kind of accessories? Like except for chargers where else would USB 3 have to advantage? Thanks

usb 3.0 is only useful for data transfer, nothing else.
True 3.0 hubs, media docks with 3.0, etc....

You have to have USB 3.0 and the correct drivers on your computer.
Here is why there will likely not be any USB 3.0 accessories that actually work..
The Note 3 is not capable of hosting 3.0. It would require more power to legitimately host a USB 3.0 device. Not only that, the hardware is just not capable nor are there any drivers for it in Android.
It can read and write at high speeds from a computer because the computer hosts the drivers and has the correct drivers. Only if it has USB 3.0.
Any accessories you see that say 3.0 (like OTG cables) are not really 3.0. Especially if they are not manufactured by Samsung.

If I wanna transfer sth, the cable is usb3.0, and the host should be usb3.0. Then it would be faster?

There actually are quite a few usb 3 otg cables on ebay so even if they won't help you they do exist. I can however find one use for them and that is that a usb 3 cable just fits bettter into the note then a usb 2 cable. As you need to look for the right hole with usb 2.
Has anyone tried Zerolemon USB 3? Is it good?

I have OTG USB host cable for Motorola Xomm. Is there any way this coulb be used with Atrix??
Don't take my answer as 100 percent. I want to say no dice on the usb host deal, but the hd dock and lapdock have usb ports for key/mouse. I think somebody mounted an external hdd but had problems. Hopefully somebody else can shed more light on this.
I voided my warranty.
It'll need a 5vdc power supply

Yeah there is a post on this already but the answer is that you just need a powered USB hub and that cable and you can use it as a host.

So ho come Galaxy S2 does not need powered hub??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giJXF5pIITc
I know nothing about Samsung, but my Atrix works fine as USB host. All you need is powered USB hub and cheap OTG adapter. I bought one from Dealextreme (sorry, can't post links). It works great with any USB keyboard or mouse or FAT formated memory drive.

Yes.
Sent from my ARCHOS 101G9 using Tapatalk 2
Just a word of warning if you do use it. The port does move in and out about a centimeter , designed to let the 3G dongle get a better signal. It appears the ribbon cable that attaches the USB port to the board is not designed very well from all that moving and eventually will crack the wires making the port useless.
yes after trying to put a flash memory 64 gb via samsung s3 adapter it works well on htc one x+ and im using es-file explorer
finally htc do that ...now im transfering my old data from note2 to my onex+ without going to my computer ....
try by your self and see

That's great news. Do you think external hard drives (1tb and up) will work as well?

Oh is that so? Anyway, I heard that the HOX+ supports external keyboards and mice via the micro usb port, would you happen to know if the HOX+ has usb otg and can act as usb host to read my flash disks?

If the one x supports it, no doubt ours will, we may have to wait for custom kernels before we can use it properly though.

I would recommend taking a look at the Nexus 4 Slim Port HDMI adapter (http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/12/11/nexus-4-slimport-adapter-review-micro-usb-to-hdmi/). The adapter allows you to connect your Nexus 4 to a monitor through a Micro USB to HDMI adapter.

search amazon for charge only micro usb, bazillions.
Thanks ! Actually I did it but I only found the "Portapow" model said not to be compatible with the Note 2. So I guess this would be the same for the Note 3.
Sent from my SM-N9005 with Tapatalk
I found that trick. From what I understand you have to cut and solder the green and white wires initially used for data.
Does anyone know if it is safe for the phone and computer (or the house when connected to the wall outlet) ??
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...+m,aps&rh=i:aps,k:charge only micro usb cable
I only found one in the list that ship to France. He is the one mentioning the cable is not compatible with the Note 2. I guess that's only about the fast charging feature. ..
Thanks for your help ! I just ordered one. I'll soon know if it rocks.

If you use the adapters for the Galaxy Tablet then any cable becomes a no-data high current charging cable.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190677630730?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Using this I get 1800mA charging for my N3 (and no data).
iGO cable is your choice, but it's rather expensive (and you have to buy micro USB plug). The cable is NOT data capable.
Thanks for the trick Craig ! This is an interesting solution easier to carry in a bag and when needed data are avaliable.

To be able to fast-charge from a PC USB port without having a custom kernel that allows it. The note 3 is capped at 450mA on USB.

In case you've forgot the power block for the wall outlet when visiting some of your customers, you may have to connect to someone computer to refill. For security reason it's better to avoid spreading some data of one of your customer to the network of another one.
Same story when you are using the USB of a computer connected to an unknown network: all the content of your phone can be used (personal and professional) and I guess you may get some viruses that will be happy to contaminate other computers when you'll connect your phone to their USB.
A no data cable is a physical protection.

You could just splice a normal cable and cut the white and green cores?

Some of the newer USB 3.0 hubs, e.g. the 10 port from Anker provide a charge only connection (2.1 A). The 9 remaining are data and power (0.9 A each)
