Hello everybody. Today I root my friend galaxy s2 and now I want to install on his phone a 4.2.2 stock rom. Can somebody give me a link with a good & smooth 4.2.2 rom ?
No such thing as 4.2 stock for I9100, only custom roms. And custom rom recommendations are forbidden here. Go read the rom threads in the two development sections (read the first page for instructions/etc & the last ten pages for recent user experiences with the rom), and try some roms out for yourself.

Hello everybody,
I'm fairly new to this, I just Rooted my Galaxy S2 I9100 successfuly using odin,
Can anyone please tell me how to download a ROM and flash kernel?
And What are the most stable ROMS and kernels, please advise.
Thank you.
1) The Stickies have all the information you need.
2) There's no such thing as 'the most stable rom/kernel', everyone has their phone setup differently & uses it differently; your experience with a given rom or kernel will not be the same as anyone else's. Head over to the development sections, read the first page & say the last 10-20 pages of a thread devoted to a given rom or kernel. This will give you an idea of the features, and also other users' recent experiences with the rom/kernel. From there, try a few roms/kernels out for yourself. If you have CWM installed, flashing roms/kernels, backing up & restoring is really quick/easy which makes trying out roms/kernels really quick/easy.
Can anyone give me particular link to download the Custom ROM for Galaxy SIII - I9300, where i can find different rom available for download ?
Which one? Stock one?, heres a link to all the builds of the stock firmwares

I need custom Rom links not the Stock rom..........
There a lot of ROM available. Go to Android Development section. Dont be lazy
Here is a fantastic resource for custom ROMs.. but don't be afraid to look around various forums for your particular device. You may find you can answer your own questions!

Thread closed as its a Best ROM thread.
Hello there,
I am new to the S2 phone (I will get one at the end of the month from a friend).
I see that there are lots of roms and kernels.
Now what I am searching for is:
Super optimized rom like Tigrouzens rom for Samsung Wave 1 and 2.
Also kernel super optimized.
With other words. a really fast rom (I don't want outdated roms).
Preffered android version:
4.3.X Jelly Bean / 4.4 Kitkat
Also, I don't really know how to install those roms/kernels. So a simple tutorial should do it. Because I once flashed one through odin from pc and not through recovery.
Greetings,
GreekBlood
Go to the development sections (Android Development & Original Android Development), read some threads, try out some roms to find one that suits your needs. Instructions for flashing roms are always on the first page devoted to the rom & always very clear.
Rom recommendations are forbidden here because they're so subjective, mods will close the thread if you insist on asking for them (this is XDA after all, if you're here, it's assumed you like flashing stuff to your phone).

And the best ROM is................................................................. LOL
I predict thread soon to be closed (i am psychic haha)
Oh, sorry.
But it is a bit of a mess here. So many roms, so many kernels.
I'm coming from wave 1 where we have 2 roms and 2 kernels.
Being a newbie, i being in you shoes a few days ago would advice you to start with understanding the fundamentals og flashing and use of the various recoveries out there. You say its a mess because you see so many roms and kernels and you dont know where to begin. Pick one and start and with time you will catch up with the rest. Good luck...modding and customizing android is like a rabbit whole...no end...

Reading the first page & last 10 pages of any rom/kernel thread will give you a couple of things:-
*Instructions how to flash & features
*Some idea of how users are finding the most recent build/any issues
That's a good place to start.
Some people treat this place like a macdonalds drive-thru.

Hi All,
I am on 4.1.2 Official Jellybean for INDIA! (XWLST). Now i would like to root my mobile.
How can I root my mobile now?
Is that rooting process helps to flash custom roms like slimbean etc?
In case i need to flash a new room to which ICS version i need to start from?
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Natti
Search. This device was released 2.5 yrs ago & these questions have been asked/answered here thousands of times before (and is the reason we have stickied threads in both Q&A and General).
1. Really?! After 2-3 years and people still ask this question...
There are over hundreds of thousands root methods and the majority of them are here on xda. You can't really expect us to help you find a thread when they're just a Google or a Search away.
2. The root process will NOT give you a custom ROM. It will only give you (depends on which root method you use) generally Superuser, Busybox and a custom recovery (<-- this depends also on which root method you use)
To get slimbean rom (after rooting) you will have to navigate yourself to their thread, read the OP (carefully!) and then flash their ROM. Same goes with every ROM available for S2.
3. If you want to go back to samsung official ICS rom, you will have to get the file from sammobile.com and then flash with odin.
Protip - Before flashing a firmware, make sure that they are compatible with your device. The Galaxy S2 has alot of sub-variants.. whose firmwares may or may not be compatible with your device.
Good luck!
