you could download the entire ROM and extract its boot.img
i can do that for you but my internet speed sucks

Yes, if the new kernel is compatible with the rom you are using.
For example - there are devs who made kernels for Stock and CM roms.
If you are using stock rom with custom kernel you can fastboot another kernel for stock rom from another developer.

Don't worry man usually unoffical ROMS will have some bugs like this.....
it will do no harm you can always get back to stock rom to get your device working like usual at any time

i install two costum roms and also the touch screen is not working ( this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528466 )
it work's only on the official update 4.0.4 and 2.3.7

Official rom work fine ( 4.0.4 and 2.3.7 )
But Custom roms dosnt work ( CM11 and CM 10 and JB )

4 kernels and the same prob
HELP !
so the entire touchscreen doesnt work or only parts of it. does it display anything? try to flash stock ftf using flashtool (use official(i do)).(using stock doesnt need you to look around for a ftf

yep the kernel by sambathpkr is the solution
I think u flashed a wrong kernel so none of the roms workin
