I can't update OTA. I need file RUU Kitkat At&t HTC one now, please!
Why can't you update? RUU's come from HTC, if it's not on the site, it's not here. Remember RUU is Rom Update Utility, not a flash, not a zip but an exe.

This file does not exist currently. HTC Tech Support has no ETA on a release, either. You can keep checking the following link, as they will post the file there (or, at least they have in the past): http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-att/news/

Hallo shubhamchamaria,
today I received a OTA update for my O2 HOX+. I made a backup before I started the update. The OTA update was OTA_ENRC2B_U_JB_45_O2_UK_1.14.206.16-1.14.206.13_release_290442.
I extracted the zip and in it was the firmware.zip with the following files...
android-info.txt

rcdata.img

Is this the boot.img you need to make a RootBoot for the O2 branded HOX+?
Hope that's the right one and you can make a RootBoot for us...

Yes, this is the stock boot image from the O2 OTA update but I think you have to flash the whole O2 RUU from here to return to stock. First you have to lock your bootloader at HTC-Dev and then flash the RUU I think...

Since there is a lot of confusion about the firmware zips I wanted to give everyone a quick run down about what they are and how they can be used.
Telling Firmware and Update Zips Apart
HTC uses two main types of zip files for their updates. Update zips are the ones most people are familiar with and can be flashed from a custom recovery, while Firmware zips are used for lower level flashing like radios/baseband or bootloader updates. An easy way to tell them apart is by looking at the name, most firmware zips will start with the devices designation such as PJ75IMG. If you open them up you'll also notice firmware zips only contain a handful of large files while update zips contain file folders and their content normally.
Click to collapse
Flashing Firmware Zips (If your device is S-ON skip to the next section)
There are three ways you can flash firmware zips:
The first is to rename the file to 'PJ75IMG.zip' (careful not to add zip twice if extensions are hidden), placing it in the root directory of the sd card and then to restart the phone while holding volume down. This brings up the bootloader which will automatically look for the file and try to flash it. Once it completes be sure to rename the file so the phone doesn't keep trying to reflash it.
.
The second way is by command through the recovery. On a S-OFF device, and a handful of HTC Dev unlocked devices, an update zip can pass along a firmware zip to the bootloader and have it flashed once the phone is rebooted. This is how normal updates are installed, however, without S-OFF the bootloader will only accept the request if the firmware zip is from HTC and has not been modified.
.
The third way, using fastboot, is my preferred method and usually the quickest. Simply place the the firmware zip in the folder with fastboot and use fastboot as follows
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip PJ75IMG.zip
fastboot reboot
As long as you point it towards a valid file fastboot is not picky about the naming.
Click to collapse
Updating Firmware and S-ON/S-OFF
All RUUs and OTAs use firmware zips that have been signed with a special key from HTC. This allows the device to know if it's been modified.
When a device is S-OFF it ignores this key and allows you to flash any valid firmware zip, but S-ON devices will only accept them when the bootloader is relocked and if the firmware zip has not modified in any way.
Since firmware updates almost always contain hBoot (bootloader) upgrades to prevent people gaining S-OFF I don't recommend ever updating the firmware on a S-ON device.

ROM Downloads
These can be flashed from a custom recovery.
I wanted to keep these as close to stock as is possible, so the only modifications made to them were superuser, busybox, the boot.img being made insecure, and the de-odexed version will be zip-aligned.

Should we apply any of these if there's not a Rom ready yet? And also can't we put the file on the external sd card and go to the bootloader and it will automatically find and install the file for the firmware on the external sd card? I'm s off. 1.12 h boot.

HTC releases the RUU, Sprint releases the OTA files. I know the RUUs used to be posted on HTC's website on each phone's page but I don't know if they do that anymore. Most likely a dev will post it as soon as it gets released.
While we wait, what happened to your phone? Maybe someone here can help.

To flash a custom ROM: You cannot downgrade the hboot yet as you already know, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to go the more primitive root and use HTC's unlock method, flash TWRP (which has HTC Dumlock workaround for the boot.img) and go from there.
Completely Stock: All other RUUs will fail. You can checkout the stock OTA file here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045839 You should be able to flash this file from the stock recovery by renaming to update.zip but please check with a developer first since I have not actually tried this myself! if you want to install the RUU and make ur tmobile one a dev edition you should install it from here http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
should be the very top/first link on the list.
t-mobile havent released the RUU for their htc one variant yet... making very difficult for those who flashed a custom recovery and now want to go back to its original state and be able to instal ota updates again.
make sure ur CID have 11111111 (eight ones!!) before installing

Hi all,
Can you (or anyone else) please offer some advice to my situation.
I currently have an AT&T HTC One running 4.3 stock Sense 5.0 (S-On and HBoot 1.55)
My end goal is to run 4.4.2 Sense 6.0 Stock (It has to be stock as I need my phone for work)
I live outside the USA and am using the phone unlocked so I don't have access to OTA from AT&T. Please what would be the best way to proceed?
- Should I download the 4.4.2 Sense 5.5 rom from here http://www.androidruu.com/index.php?developer=M7
and then get the Sense 6 OTA from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659374 and flash with stock recovery or do I need s-off before I can do this.
Please any help would be appreciated and apologies for my newbie question
