Hi,
I want to know if you can re-install a ROM on Nokia Lumia 920, if yes how, is there a thread which details that out.
Also if i flash a ROM will that unlock my Phone? My Phone is currently locked to AT&T?
Please advice.
lock/unlock dont have anything with flashing....
for simple reflashing you can use NSU

or Software Recovery tool

Hi there!
Here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916497
I can say it's safe, becouse within this you can't install anything that can break your phone, since "thoose" apps need at least interop unlock, and if you have Dload bootloader in you lumia 800, DEV unlocking your phone is the only way, to install some custom apps on your phone, becouse guys give up?! tryin to crack Nokia's DLOAD bootloader, so we could have a full unlock on our devices, but every honor goes to them at least rying to do something. So go on with chevronwp7!

Hey Guys,
I was wondering has there been an update on unlocking lumia devices with the Nokia DLOAD bootloader.
I'm actually on my second Lumia 800 ( the first one being a preproduction model i got as a gift from nokia, and the second a shop bough lumia).
The first lumia i had had the Qualcomm bootloader and i was able to flash custom firmware to the device.
The second lumia i have has the Nokia DLOAD bootloader, and this is where i'm running in to issue's.
I can't seem to find anyway to debrand device.
It's currently branded Vodafone, and want the branding removed.
Anybody have any idea's or information on how to get this done?
DLOAD cannot be rooted so cant do a sim unlock too.
your stuck with it for now..and dont raise hopes for an unlock for DLOAD..pretty dead with the dev for that :/
But why the 710's is rooted?

There was a kind of exploit that was discovered but sadly just on the 710.
It was discovered on 800 , but it was an older make of 800 which had qualcomm
somone found the right osbl so it was possible to unlock 710 too...

So can we put qualcomm file in the osbl and flash everything with care suite?

hi. you can debrand a dload lumia using nokia care suit. to do that you download the unbranded firmware using navfirm and insted of puting in rm801 folder put in rm817 but dont rename the firmware. than in product support tool uncheck automatic product selection than open product and select rm-817 , them programing/recovery click on update list than with lumia turned of click on start and connect the usb cable to pc pressing only the vol up key.
if you need a more detail "tutorial" just say, but be i dont recommend doing this if lumia was sim unlocked by code as it will locked again and you will need to put the code again

Hi to everibody.
First of all, i'm not an owner of a Nokia Lumia 710, i'm an hd2 owner.
By the way, a dear friend of mine has it and asked me to install for him a custom rom, because he knows that i'm pretty god with this kind of things (i also have a website dedicated to it).
But i've never tried to flash a nokia Lumia 710, so i ask to you if someone could please give me a step by step tutorial to follow.
Also suggestion about what rom choosing are wellcome...
Hope you can help me...
Happy new year
First check if you have the locked bootloader using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26697553&postcount=117
Continue with the rest of the guide to install the unlocked bootloader if you do not have it.
Choose and download a custom ROM from this section (I use RainbowMod) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1381
Then download Nokia Lumia Downloader and follow the instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1142383&d=1340184809
After Nokia Lumia Downloader has finished you should have a fully unlocked custom ROM installed.
I have a short question.
If I buy a Nokia Lumia 800 WITH sim-lock, can I unlock the phone by flashing a custom ROM?

He buddy, good to see you back here, still wondering what happened with your Lumia 710, ok to get back to your question it's not possible to make your phone sim unlocked by flashing a custom rom.
Greetz,
Hey Rataplan,
As you know I broke my Lumia 710. I sold the phone for 30 euros.
As i have no money I had to save for a new phone.
So I bought a Nokia E6 for 70 euros, sold it for 90.
Bought a Samsung Galaxy S(1) for 75 and sold it for 100..
Good business for me
Now I have the opportunity to buy a Nokia Lumia 800 for 120 euros. But I have to figure out if this one has a simlock or not..
I let you know and as soon I got the phone, I'll be back here
Thanks for you answer!!
Hi,
no you can NOT SIM-unlock your L800 by flashing a custom rom.
But, for being able to flash a custom rom, you need to have to swap your DLOAD bootloader to the qualcomm one.
If you do this yourself using ATF box, you can easily sim-unlock your phone using ATF as well.
If you let your L800 get bootloader unlocked in a "special store", please tell them to also sim-unlock your L800.
BUT be carefull: this sim-unlock is only a PATCH-unlock, which means if you full-flash your phone, you'll overwrite the patched amss & adsp files of your phone, which cause your phone to be locked again.
But if you stay with qualcomm and custom roms, you're fine
Find informations about sim and bootloader-unlock here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204679
Hi, finally I got my Lumia 800! Very exiting haha!
But, I am too afraid to unlock and flash a custom rom again. Too afraid to brick my phone again, so I think I'm leaving it the way it is..
Thanx Lordmaxi for your information. But to go from DLOAD to Qualcomm is difficult isn't it? if I read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39508229&postcount=2
I don't think I want to go trough all that trouble..
Anyway, I'm sticking with original firmware and stuff. If I change my mind, I will be back here!!
