Try the Method of Restoring via Galaxy Tool box.
Otherwise use Rafael's kernel .

Thunder kernel will not work with these ROM most of thr users tried but faced same problem's so its good if you change your kernel.

Thunderkernel works with CM7 RC4. The big advantage is that it has builtin iptables. with the biel kernel afwall+ does not work. With thunderkernel it does work and so you can have a good application firewall.

why don't you try touchwiz v9 instead of v8 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358404
and make sure to use thunderkernel stock and not cm7 or cmx ( currently thunderkernel_2.1_stock.zip , you can find it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335947) :
after reverting to stock rom
Go to CWM Recovery(apply update from zip : choose cwm [fox example : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649491 ] )
Clear/Wipe Data
Clear/Wipe Cache
Advanced > Clear/Wipe Dalvik cache
Install zip from sd card > Choose touchwiz v9
Reboot recovery or directly install zip from sd card > Choose thunderkernel_2.1_stock.zip

if ur using stock rom, the latest is b82-ex-fixed.zip. but u wont get bln support unless ur using stock rom DXKPB. if u want bln support on stock rom other than DXKPB, use cf-root b-80.

No, bln works for KPH KPN KPO too just needs a patched services.jar provided in the thread. Anyway he's using KPB so no worries.

I think you are misunderstanding some things.. You must first root your phone with cf-root AND THEN, you must flash the Rom with the specified kernel. But you can take a shortcut by flashing siyah kernel. You don't need to rely on baseband version.

okay .. so here is what i will be doing..
1> root my phone using the cf root method,(that will be giving me cwm and root)
2> get into the recovery mode and flash cm 10.1.
3> wipe and clear the cache
4> install g apps..
5> install siyah kernel via recovery (the zip.)
6> reboot...
cool enough? should i proceed?

No. Did you read the first post on the CM10.1 Thread?
You have to be running an ics stock rom and then root it.
Afterwards you can then proceed to flash CM10.1.

Hey ma8 first use the siyah kernel v4.1.5 or v5.0.1(tar file for ODIN) form PC ODIN to root ur phone, to get a wrk'ng latest CWM recovery on ur phone
then follow the install instruction given in the CM10.1 thread to install the same, the CM10.1 rom comes with its own kernel that will replace siyah after install

so you mean to say that flashing the siyah kernal will directly give me root? Or will i have to use super one click app after flashing the kernel to gain root? One more thing have you tried the method you gave?
Yes it will, no need for any super one click. Once uve flashed siyah, reboot in recovery (which will now be cwm recovery), make a nandroid before you flash anything. Would be a good idea to back up your apps using titanium backup, your sms msgs with an app like sms backup and restore etc. Then proceed to flash the rom, gapps, make wipes etc.

Yes if you read OP on Neat rom kitkat 4.4.2 you will know and yes it's the only way to go back to stock.
The zip is so big because it is aroma rom and having lots of mods.
