Hi people!
I know, I'm completely newbie in this.
But I'm getting in trouble and confused about it.
The question is simple:
What's means FRP lock / unlocked and Phone lock / unlocked?
And what's the difference between them?
FRP means Factory Reset Protection. If locked your phone will be protected of unauthorized factory resets. If a stranger tries to reset your phone, the phone will ask for your Google password on startup.
So if you unlock FRP you will lose that protection but this is required too unlock your bootloader (that's what you called phone locked/unlocked).
Phone locked (bootloader locked) means that you cannot make any changes too the partitions of your phone for example the recovery. So you are required to unlock your phone to install custom recoveries and ROMs like TWRP or RR etc.
Hope I could help you clear some things up.
If you're planning to sell your Android phone, make sure to remove your Google account from it first or else the next owner wouldn't be able to use it.

actory Reset Protection (FRP) is a security method that was designed to make sure someone can't just wipe and factory reset your phone if you've lost it or it was stolen. Starting with Android Lollipop, FRP is "standard" in vanilla Android, and most companies making our phones have implemented it in their own models.Mar 29, 2016

Hi everybody,
My question is going to sound stupid, but now that I've got the unlock code for the bootloader, how do I unlock the FRP?
It is to this part that I am lost.
Sorry but I'm not very young anymore and not healthy. I had a big car accident and am much more on my phone and my computer

Hi,
OK so I activate the OEM to unlock the FRP.
And for unlocking the Bootloader I can use Huawei Multi Tools?
Should I delete my Google Account or Huawei before doing these manipulations?
I do not have fingerprint or pattern lock.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
This video is for the Honor 8, but the same steps are used to unlock the bootloader on the Honor 9.

I unlocked the bootloader. Done on the instructions of the website:https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/step. After unlocking bootloader on my phone fastboot appeared the inscription "PHONE Unlock" and "Unlock FPR". On my device sprosili settings. After that, I re-entered entered the Google account, but the phone then began to hang periodically. I went into developer mode, done a factory reset there. And decided to turn back. Went to fastboot, blocked Downloader. Phone rebooted, then on the screen appeared the inscription: "Relock PHONE" and "FPR Lock". Out of fastboot, there was a black window where it says to restore the system through recovery in the air, but when I try to do fails. Help me, please!

First you should try the HWOTA procedure without rebranding.
Hello guys,
first of all sorry for the dummy question, but I don't know how I can solve this problem. so...
I have changed the pattern sequence of my phone with a complicated one. when doing that, I saved a screenshot of the sequence but, instead to put it to the sd card as a though, the phone saved it on the internal memory (damn!).
After some days my phone has been restarted and now is asking for the pattern that I have forgot because I used to unlock it for days via the damn fingerprint!
I tried via google to unlock the phone with no luck.
There is no developer mode active on the phone, and when I connect an usb cable I can't put it to usb mode because it asks to put the unlock sequence.
Is there a way to unlock the phone or a way to get the screenshot from the internal memory? obviously I want to avoid to hard reset and lost everything.
I think hard resetting from recovery menu is the best possible option. I don't think there is a way to bypass the security honestly. I'm sorry but I think that resetting is the best option here
if you could bypass the pattern there wouldnt be any point to having the pattern in the first place. everything on your phone is encrypted. the pattern is the encryption key. just ask the fbi how upset they were about this.
Hello everybody.
my question is a little bit noobish, is losing a phone with locked bootloader have any security benefits?
like if it's lost or stolen can the thief access my data ?? can he use the phone after formatting it ??
i really need to know it, and my English is not very good as i tried to search for any updated topic about this matter and i couldn't find such thing
On locked bootloader, he can't access your data as your storage is encrypted and any attempt to unlock the bootloader will wipe the storage out. Even if he does some kind of a factory reset, he will still come to the point where he needs a password to unlock the phone after a reset. So no, he can't really use the phone if the bootloader is locked.

With locked bootloader, the thief will not be able to use the phone at all if you have it in secure lock screen.
With unlocked bootloader if you are encrypted (not flashing fde) he will be able to use the phone but will never have access to your data.
With unlocked bootloader and unencrypted (by flashing fde) he will be able to use the phone AND have access to your data.
Thanks guys very helpful, I needed to know the risks... Many thanks [emoji4]

Eventually you can unlock the phone, without using FDE, and backup/flash/restore with an USB-OTG cable and a USB drive, so your data will be encrypted but you still can "play" with your phone. That's what I did.
Like the title says, my father just passed and we're locked out of his phone.
Don't want to factory reset the phone because all of his accounts are on there in apps and we're not able to figure out if we missed anything. Worried about upcoming bills and then any stocks or trades he did only in apps.
Currently the phone is requiring a pattern unlock and I've unsuccessfully been able to guess it so it kind of locked us out of doing anything. Can't even power off or reset it.
It's also saying "unlock the phone to use fingerprints." Does that mean even if we were to somehow guess the pattern would we still need the fingerprint to open the phone?
Is there a way we can bypass any of this? I looked into some programs and downloaded them but they all said they would erase the data if we removed the pattern unlock.
I have access to his Gmail via a tablet that we knew the pin code for but haven't been able to reset the password just yet. Not sure if having the google account password available will help us unlock the phone or not?
Any help or links to tutorials would greatly be appreciated.
By sheer luck I was able to guess the swipe unlock pattern so the phone is now unlocked for me. Mods can delete this thread if they want.
I am working on a phone for someone that had a heart attack and as a result has forgotten his pin code on his phone. I know I can factory reset but I'm trying to find a way to get back into the phone to recover all his data. I can get into download mode so I was wondering if there is any kind of firmware hack that can be installed in order to just ignore pin altogether. I don't think the data is encrypted. We have been able to recover his gmail account but the lock screen never shows a "forgot your pin?" I tried using find my phone but it says it can locate the phone but that find my phone isn't running. Any help would be really appreciated.

As far as I know, even with those enabled you can't bypass login pin code. If that was the case, you could take anyone's phone, factory reset it, and use it.
? I thought that was kinda the whole point of the existence of XDA. I've already found that Dr. Fone can factory reset and take over a phone. There must be something that can be done in download mode.
