Notification bar doesn't show - Themer General Discussion

Hey so in the themer settings under gesture. None of the gestures work with "show/hide notification bar". For example I have it set so when I gesture with 1 finger downwards, it should show the notification bar and when I gesture 1 finger up, it should hide. None of these work. I even tried to set pinch in to "show/hide" simultaneously. I am using the sea theme. It use to work like 5 updates ago but now no longer . Any suggestions?
By the way, I can still access the notification bar by swiping down from the top of the screen, just not with the gestures on the home screen.

Just to clarify none of the gestures work with anything notification bar related. Quick settings, toggle notification bar, etc

Hi,
What device do you have? Are you running a custom ROM? If so, are you running any kind of added apps, such as Xposed?

Note 2 on aosp ROM. And yes I have xposed running but only with torch (used for flashlight with volume keys). It's weird because the gestures for notification bar worked like 5 updates ago and now it doesn't

One method that usually works is:
1. Uninstalling Themer.
2. Deleting the /sdcard/MyColorScreen folder (removing the Exported folder within it in case you saved any themes).
3. Reinstalling Themer.
Let us know how it goes.

Brightness slider widget

Are there any apps out there that provide a brightness slider as a widget. For example a 4x1 widget that allows for quick adjustments as opposed to the 3 click button or the slider shortcut method.
Is this even possible?
Just thought I would ask, as this would be useful to many I imagine.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

I don't know think it would be possible in a horizontal form, I think any horizontal swipe would only work as a homescreen swipe. I like using the brightness button on the Extended Controls widget. One tap brings up the slider (with an auto brightness toggle if you want) and once you take your finger off the slider it closes. I know you mentioned slider shortcuts, but this is the quickest form of adjustment I've seen in a widget, short of the touchwiz notification bar.
I recommend Brightness Level by CurveFish. It's not quite what you're looking for, but I honestly don't think you'll find what you're looking for unless there's a special widget for a home alternative like ADW or LP. Brightness Level is similar to the one mentioned above, in that fact you can tap it once and it goes away the second you're done sliding it. But what I like is that it has preset buttons too. It also helped me figure out that the system settings don't go below 8%. This widget will actually take you down to 0% (still brighter than I'd like, so sometimes I use Screen Filter too). It's only a 1 x 1, which in my opinion makes it better. Just something to try.

Try Extended Controls from the market. I user the brightness control daily. The slider comes up when you press the brightness widget. Plus there are so many other options action the app.

Definitely try Brightness Profiles by Craig G in the Market, its awesome and I keep it on my home page

notification bar
hmmm I'm assuming you're talking about adjusting the brightness of the phone whenever so..
Did you know you can just change the brightness of the screen by gliding your finger across the notification bar left and right?
You have to turn off the auto-savings and auto brightness in the settings first though,
but after that just glide over the notifications bar and you're good to go!
Most amazing trick needs no widget.
All good options, thanks for the input. As far as the notification bar
Sliding, I can not get this to work. I am using adw launcher, not sure if perhaps this is a stock launcher option only.

If your phone currently had auto brightness enabled I don't think you can use the notification slider. It takes practice with some ROMs, but I'm sure you'll figure it out.
On the froyo builds you have to hold your finger on the notification bar until it goes back up a second later, (dont let go!) THEN after that you can slide left and right to control brightness.

Did you actually try it? There is even another app - notification toggle. But the problem is, that this works just when the OS support it and unfortunately official Dell rom doesn't
I tried Status Bar Settings by Karson. It doesn't work (did not register clicks in notify bar). Even on the market page, the dev recommends Widgetsoid! lol
Widgetsoid has the same problem, it just launches a little app instead of each button being an individual toggle. Not quite CM6+ (from the Notification Toggle market page: "you will get a popup to select the toggle feature if your device doesn't support multiple notification clicks")
Maybe we can petition a dev 'round here to figure out how to shoe horn in "multiple notification clicks".
...and for the record, I have been using Quick Settings on my Streak for quick access to power widgets from the notify tray.

an app wont' bring this functionality.. you need to take apart cm7 or twlauncher to inject the hotbuttons. It is somethign I have looked into a few times without success..
there are dozens of apps that put the buttons in and just open a lame widget....
i have resorted to the wireless settings info popup menu hidden in settings to quickly enable and disable the wireless radios.
The wireless activity Krad mentions is covered here at StreakSmart. I have it as one of the gesture actions on the LauncherPro dock.
You can put one tap toggles in the notification tray but each toggle takes up a line in the tray. Notification Toggle can do this. The status bar switches by friedflow also work well.

Is it possible to bring down the notifications shade with a gesture, if the bar is hidden?
I've got a two finger swipe set for that, but it only works if the bar is not hidden.

In order to find the gestures, go into: Themer Settings > Themer > Gestures. From here you can assign a gesture, for example swipe down to show the notification bar, or swipe up to hide it. Make sure you have the latest update, as this includes gesture support.
If you go into Themer Settings > Advanced > Desktop, you can whether to display the notification bar or to hide it.
Hope this helps
What's happening in v1.8 . Can we get any sneak peeks?

i'd like to second this - not just to show or hide the notification bar, but a gesture to fully pull down the notification shade. For example other launchers let me swipe down anywhere on the screen to bring down the notification shade, but with themer i must pull down from the top of the screen. Once you get used to swiping down from anywhere, you really miss it
@ThemerSupport I love this app and as you can see in the screen shots and .zip section I've been making some matching lock screens using uccw and widget locker.
What I would like is to be able to use the everything widget in widget locker for the lock screen but cant. But can use the other themer widgets please can you fix or add. So I can use themer and widget locker together
Thanks
all the best

swipe up homebutton

Hi, is there a way to add or remove apps from the swipe-up homebutton shortcut menu? and which launcher supports the transparant softkey background?
Yes, if you install this app, it will allow you to launch any app on your phone from the home swipe up.

very nice App.

Home Buttons issue - Nougat had this issue, Oreo solved it, Pie brought it back!?

On a H932, in Nougat (7), the behavior of the home buttons would drive me nuts, if you swiped up to show them while in an app, the app would react to the gesture (i.e. Firefox would scroll, Apple Music would change tabs, etc.). This was solved in Oreo, it would know that you're trying to swipe up for the buttons, and leave the app alone. Pie....same as Nougat, does anyone know if there's a workaround for this?
It's annoying if you're trying to save your spot in an app...
