[Q] (ODIN) Galaxy S3 Soft Brick (Cant Open Serial(com) Port) - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So a friend of mine managed to soft brick his S3 (i9300) , by pulling the battery while flashing something with odin, he's given it me having had some prior experience with S3's and rooting in general.
When trying to boot the S3 I get a screen like this :
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now this isn't really a problem because I can still get into download mode , (
It says:
Factory mode
Product name : //blank
Current Binary : samsung official
System Status : Custom
The problem is when I try to flash stock 4.1.2 (everything) I get this error
Can't open serial COM port.
I'm using drivers downloaded from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...b-drivers-samsung-usb-drivers-mobile-t1655286
And I'm using these files in Odin ( 4.1.2) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735&postcount=6
I've tried this on two separate computers , on all available usb ports and swapped out the cable , taken the sim and memory card out, and tried several different versions of odin, all to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated on fixing the device.

Emmc chip is damaged/corrupt which is evidenced by the blank product name.
New motherboard required.

[SOLVED] S5839i / Odin fails to write / not rooted / loop boot

EDIT : SOLVED USING CORRECT ROM FILES AND/OR CORRECT ODIN VERSION, TUTORIAL (IN FRENCH BUT WORKING !!!!) HERE : http://www.phonandroid.com/forum/tutoriel-remise-a-propre-de-son-ace-s5839i-t60501.html
Hello there,
My co-worker has a not rooted Galaxy Ace GT-S5839i which had a loop boot problem.
I first tried to wipe cache data but had an error when trying to reboot (something like "E:can't mount /data"), same occurs after wipe + factory reset.
I tried to install official rom ( S5839iXXMC1_S5839iXEFMD1_S5839iXXMC1_HOME.tar.md5 ) with Odin, and whatever the Odin version i try (tried few of them, 1.85 as i read it is better for gingerbread, also tried few 3.x version including latest version) i get a write failure on Odin, see following screenshot :

I have to say that i have installed Kies + usb drivers, then rebooted computer and then killed Kies process.
I also tried on another usb bracket/plug and with 2 different wires.
Also tried Odin Multi Downloader but it crashes when analysing file.
Sadly, my co-worker can't afford a new smartphone, please someone help me.
Regards.

Lg K7 Unstable connection avoid flashing

Hi , I think I probably f*kc up something. My sister just changed his phone to a new one so I borrowed his old Lg K7 x210 3G (I just post all the info I have about the model cause I don't really know exactly which one is) Well I unloaded the Bootloader and tried to change the recovery. I fallowed the steps of the guide but at the end I finished having the "No Command" error . This got me nervous and I started to touch things without knowing what I was doing (really, REALLY bad idea )
So the phone got stuck on a bootloop , well time to flash to get rid of the loop. The main problem is that I can't flash anything (except for the preloader) because it disconects all the time. I installed 20 different drivers and Sp Flash Tools versions (erasing the old ones with USBDeview )
These are the two states that jumps every 2 seconds.

}
What can I do to avoid this "jumps" and flash the rom correctly to the phone?
I tried 2 different pc , all the ports in this pc and all the cables I could find at home
PS: This are the different guides and tutorials I tried but failed.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982587 (It can't connect to the lg app because the "jumping" issue )
https://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-m2/help/windows-10-mtk-vcom-usb-drivers-32-64-t3267033 (Tried these on a W10 computer but again the device cant stay connect for more than 2 seconds )

Thanks for your help . I don't want to give so early I think it could be fixed.

Samsung J3 SM-J327T1 MetroPCS Unauthorized Software and is locked.Error

Hi guys i received a Samsung J3 SM-J327T1 MetroPCS from a friend..As soon as u power it up there is the Blue Screen as in my picture....Word is that someone may have flashed a different or earlier version of the Firmware and this is the result...I tried everything in the book to get it to at least go into recovery mode.Tried the latest stock Firmware to no avail...I will post pictures hoping u guys may have come across it before and may know of a method to revive it....
As soon as i power on the phone i get the error message below.Even if i flash the most recent firmware.The flashing process goes tru very smoothly in Odin without any errors ..But when it reboots it goes back to this same blue screen with error message below...If u can't see the picture it says:
''Security Error.This Phone has been flashed with Unautorized Software&is Locked.Call your mobile Operator for addiotnal support.Please note that repair/return for this issue may have additional cost.''

}
After i use odin to Try with the combination ..The combination goes tru without errors..But as soon as it reboots i get the error message below..I cannot enter recovery..Only download mode.
I have read from another forum that it is the dreaded MetroPCS Secure Lock they added to protect the integrity of the phones...Secure Lock is technology that prevents unauthorized firmware from being installed on MetroPCS phones.Would appreciate hearing from u all if this would be the case..And the phone needs to be thrown away and savage for parts ofcourse..thanks

I got some good results with no-verity-opt-encrypt !
Installed TWRP and installed that file now it is booting up again so for the next one who got this problem just try it and maby you will succeed.
Now installing and going to check if i manage it to install official rom without TWRP
I manage to install other firware for G950F but at device info it still says G950FD (D for dual sim......) my pc shows it as normal F version (Single sim)
How can i fix this?

ODIN stuck when trying to flash AP to Samsung A10s (A107F)

Hello all I hope someone can help me out here?
I am trying to install Magisk on my Samsung A10S A107F device. I have got a stock set of firmware, which I have used with ODIN 3.14.1 to recover the phone after a couple of errors that I made during my learning process, so I know that ODIN and my stock F/W works. The stock F/W is Android 9.
Here's my problem, whenever I try to flash a Magisk patched AP to the device, ODIN stops at RQT_CLOSE!! and does nothing else. No success or failure, just stops there. I feel like it I am doing something obviously wrong but cannot figure it out. After around 5 minutes, it does timeout and then show a failure.
I've Magisk patched the whole AP file from stock and also extracted the boot.img only and patched a tar or that as well, but exactly the same result.
I've watched a number of videos on the process but can't see any difference.
Is there something security related that's being tripped in the Samsung F/W to prevent the new patched boot/AP flashing?
The OEM unlock option is on and greyed out in my phone's Developer Options menu.
After ODIN fails/stops, the phone can be restarted and is just the same as it was before.

Did you try another USB port or another USB Cable?
If yes, then try another ODIN version.
Final resolution is to try to flash from another PC or laptop.
