I take no resposibility if something will go... not as it supposed to. The responsibility for potential damages caused by installing or using of this ROM is Yours, and Yours only!
My ROM is released „as is” – you don’t like it – don’t use it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Important!
Any Galaxy Ace II ROM based on Android 4.2.x+ has to be installed over Android 4.1.x+ (stock ROM, CM-like customs). You will need custom recovery (temporary one is good enough)
It is strongly recommended to make a backup before installing of ANY ROM!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ANNOUNCEMENT!
I think i will update that ROM twice per month weekly for now, because Carbon devs are working hard to improve ROM.

----ANNOUNCEMENT----
Hereby quest for glory and wealth is over!!!
Some of you could think, that i made all that published ROMs for myself. And then i, seeing that was decent work, decided to share with community...
NO, NO, NO - you are WRONG!!
It was made for two purposes only - for fame and wealth!
And now, after one short year - i am famous. People recognize me on the streets (many of them want me to give an autograph), presidents of many cities and even countries want to have selfies with me, stranger women want to seat on my knees in public places...
And yet about richness...
Another goal achieved. Two people donated to me - 3USD + 5USD (i'm freakin' rich now, even despite of fact, that paypal took some from that amount).
I became so rich, that i didn't accept donation for my ThinkingBridge ROM (not because i thought it was too little of my work on that ROM - don't let be fooled, but because that i was too rich [by donations] already).
I won't say goodbye, because there was my farewell, when i "lost" my phone [actually, it was cheap action to gain donations, right?]
And then i didn't accept donation in the form of Ace 2 from the same person [ThinkingBridge case] - the reason was the same... too rich.
And now, when i'm so rich and famous - i decided generously to give you one last build [in two variants] of Carbon ROM. Campaign is OVER!.
OK, back to serious.
Last months was a great time for me - i learned many things about modding, bit about "programming", about "source code" and compilation. Now i see some things easy, things that i considered as "from outer space", when i had have previous phones. And i've met many interesting, valuable people. We have great community, people leave, but there are new people coming...
The amount of various ROMs for our Codina's is really impressive...
I think i'll stay about a quarter of year with codina. I will make some private builds in the meantime (probably), but maybe i'll just stick to one of existing ones... Last AOSP is really impressive in terms of stability.
So why to end now? Hmm... i'm bit tired, tired of doing trivial things (like changelogs), tired of one's expectations... The accusations of running some campaigns for selfpromotion and killing (spoiling?) other's work [i didn't know that my builds of SlimBean 8.1, Vanilla Root-Box, Mahdi, Omni were so much worse than previous ones, sorry] also didn't help.
One more thing - i'm not a developer. Never considered myself to be developer. My job, apart from modding stock ROM, was to adapt existing source code to build specific ROMs. I just did some specific changes in code to add some functions, but it wasn't much. So i'd call myself a contributor rather than a dev [that way you will not loose another developer)]
Good bye, and good luck!
TRANSLATION HELP!!
You can find carbon settings english file here: http://d-h.st/yh1
It is "couple of lines" of text to translate...
And it would be best to use Notepad++ or other "non windows native" text editor to avoid some problems)

Hmm... actually - i'm not a kernelsmith... All i did with kernel was adding governors in Android 4.2.2 ROMs... I'm not hardcore gamer (at least not ATM and not on smartphones) - so i don't need additional power.

What governor and i/o scheduler is best for multitasking and gaming performance?
Just curious because you added Sioplus scheduler and added PegasusQ governor in build 1.
Actually - @Rox add it (but i'd add it anyway, if he'd didn't do it).
I think that for multitiasking most important are minfree values, and it not depends on kernel...
And performance governor will be probably best for gaming/performace if you want to be sure).
I saw gaming (or gamers or sth) governor, but i didn't have the time to look at it closely - i'm not a smartphone gamer, again)

As it could be my final version of Carbon ROM (and maybe my last Codina’s public ROM ever), I want to add few words…
I’m pretty sure that @Rox – our main device sources maintainer - deserves for a special thanks. I watched your progress – starting from “simple” theming You became our local hero, learning fast. I believe that the knowledge You achieved playing with our Samsung Galaxy Ace II will help you to find “a job from your dreams” in your mature life (do not hurry). I’m aware that without Your work I just couldn’t “get” Carbon (or Chameleon OS, or whatever) in current state. So once again – thanks for Your contribution!!!
To do list:
· Fixing Carbon Fibers FC’s after turning phone on
· Additional polish translation (other languages, maybe?**)
· Adding mobile data indicator arrows
** If you have free time and want to add your language translation to system apps – feel free to contact me.
Installation:
1. Put ROM’s Zip file Zip z ROMem (and other zip files - optionally) on SD Card

Mine too. I have had Cm10.2 but it crashed and after that Android 4.3 hasn't worked again (up to now, maybe I try to get it working again, or I am just going to buy the Nexus 5 ).
k, will install this ROM after bored with CM10.2
Decided to give this a spin just out of curiosity and to see what it's like. (never used Carbon ROM before)
I'm curious whether the low incall patch for CM10.2 would also work with this... i'm not sure of the differences in the phone APK if any..

Thanks for your fast response..
I'll try to flash this ROM from XXMG2 Greece (Cosmote) JB 4.1.2 Base ROM.
I found Ringtone Delay bug on any other 4.3.1 Custom ROM. when I receive a notification, i see the notification icon on statusbar, but the ringtone is delaying (2 or 3 seconds after the notification icon shows on statusbar, sometimes I only hear half notification ringtones), if I find any bug on this ROM, I'll report it to you
and one more question..
I see MIUI Style on this ROM, can I use MIUI themes for this ROM (*.mtz file)?
great work, thanks!!
this rom have transition animation like rootbox and listview animation?

Introduction
Hi all,
KaosDroid is tested on the Nexus 7 (2012) grouper and soon will be tested on Nexus 7 (2013) flo
Based on AOSPAL, as always KaosDroid will be compiled from source, I sometimes do add features from other sources, just post on G+ if you want something adding.
This ROM is based around my needs with a little extra.
This ROM is not only based around my needs, its also built around the community's needs. In the past if they have asked for something to be included or changed in the ROM it has been done.
I have made my own GAPPS and its placed in the gapps directory of my goo.im folder. Its not that much different from the one that AOSPA has, It Includes all the common Google Apps and some extras. It is updated every time i upload a new ROM making sure that all the gapps are up to date.
I dont mind any critism at all as long as its constructive, any ideas are also welcome!

FAQ
Some of these questions have never been asked but if youv'e thought of them or ever wondered why, here they are
Q: Why is this ROM so big when others are about 120MB in size?
A: CyanogenMod alone is 220MB. When you add all my options it gets quite large, e.g. Launchers, Browsers, Kernels and Tweaks, e.g. True Tablet UI, Stock Nav Bar, Alternative Themes, then there's apps like Adobe Flash, BBC iPlayer and a root file explorer.
Q: Have you thought of cutting the size of your ROM down by removing apps such as Flash Player and the root file explorer?
A: I have, But then it means side loading or re-downloading them, possibly setting permissions and alot more time to set up the ROM as you want it, plus its easier to have it all in one place, saves on backup storage, and if you don't want them, don't select them, thats why the options are there.
Q: Why have you changed your base from AOSP to CyanogenMod?
A: Basically CyanogenMod has fixes when it comes to bugs, loopholes and security issues, whereas AOSP doesn't have as many, its not updated as frequent, and doesn't have the CM team behind it!
Q: Can you add support for "this" or add "that" mod?
A: Yes, its usually not an issue, post the request in the thread or pm me, i will add the request to the OP, and add it in the next update, unless its slightly more complicated like gesture support, this will take time and therefore will be added a few versions later.
Q: Why so many releases so often?
A: Simple version: I lost my job and i like to learn
Not so simple version: With Android there is and always will be updates, fixes, customisations and mods that i and the community would like. I try to keep on top of these adding them in and updating regulary to keep the ROM up-to-date, also you get requests, so you add them and release the update, it keeps the community happy and your ROM up-to-date with the latest fixes and customisations that everyone wants.
Q: Why is there some bugs in almost every version?
A: Bugs are like rats, your never more than 10 feet away from one of them (10 lines of code in this case), there are going to be bugs in every ROM no matter how good the developer is. For example, in V3.6/3.6.1 there was an issue with the lockscreen not saving shortcuts, this was an issue with my ROM and any other ROM based on CM for that matter, i cannot help this, it is a CM issue, i have bugs and fixes to deal with that are on my side of the work, if i have time then yes, i will have a look at the issue try to fix it and if i do pass the findings on to the deleloper(s). Also remember that ROM's are always under development, even stable releases.
Q: What make Kaos Droid so special?
A: Besides me? The COMMUNITY! Kaos Droid was originally based around my needs and customisations and what i want. Not only that but the community has a lot of input in Kaos Droid, if they ask for a MOD, customisation or support for something it gets added which also makes the rom perfect for their needs, Kaos Droid started of as a small ROM the community spoke and the community got, its as simple as that.
Q: Why are you including requests from the community for somthing you don't or might not use?
A: Simple there are people/users out there that either don't know how or dont have the time to build a cusom ROM, and why not include the requests 99% of the time i actually use them, i have not had one request yet that i haven't used or thought it shouldn't be included.
Q: What's you aim for Kaos Droid?
A: That's easy: reliability, speed, customisation and hopefully being the best
Q: What made you decide to start building a custom ROM?
A: I liked the work other Dev's were doing and what they achived, so I thought to myself if they can do it so can I.

Does the lightbulb app work?
Thanks for the kind words i'm glad to see someone call it a solid rom, considering its a beta
i was worrying that this might not work as im only testing on Nexus 7's, grouper and deb devices, so its good to see that its running alright

Everything (besides light bulb) has worked for me. There's a toggle for lightbulb, but there's no app for it; Probably why it doesn't work.
Been a dd for me so far, could probably drop the beta tag in my opinion. Buuuut, should probably wait more feedback first.

Also if you don't mind me pointing it out, the ota app force closes.. I can post log if you want. Battery drain is pretty good with ak kernel. But seems that the keyguard activity from system ui uses up a lot.

Keyguard will eat up a lot if this ROM has Lockscreen Notifications, and as I can see, it is based on AOSPAL, so it's normal for the systemui keyguard to blast its way up to that.

I have noticed that the ota app died i will have a look into this as well as the battery drain Thank you for bringing this to my attention
also in your logcat i found the following lines repeated a lot
Code:
I/13:25:21.029 Xposed (29063)
RecentPanelMod: linear ramBarView not found!
I'm assuming you have a module enabled to have the recents ram bar in the recent apps menu, if i can remember correctly there is already a built in settings--> remix settings, sorry can't give much info than that i don't have the tablet with me at the moment

Yeah I got xblast, I'm using it to get the app bar to use with xhalo for multi windows. Forgot to disable a few options since I restored the app with titanium and the key guard doesn't drain much as gnome pointed out but shows on top in the battery section.

TIPS
Animation scale
The animation scale is setted to 2x by default, which makes it smooth but a bit slow for some users.
If you prefer your phone to look faster decrease it to 1,5x or 1x.
(Your apps will take the same time to open. But, it will give you that feeling of speed).
Find it in Developer options tab.
Fully disable navbar
Add this line to your build.prop file (located at /system):
Code:
[CENTER]qemu.hw.mainkeys=1[/CENTER]
And reboot.
Personal gov/sched combination
I personally use PegasusQ + SIOPlus

OTA UPDATES
- You will get a notification on your phone when a new version of RR ROM is available. You can download the ROM on your phone through the OTA updater.
- For now, I have made the link to open in a browser as direct links for the ROM zip on file host might not work at times. I might change this to direct downloading of zips in the future.
- Full ROM will be downloaded, not a delta zip.
- I haven't tested flashing the ROM using the automated scripts in the OTA updater. Use them at your own risk. I advice you to open recovery manually and flash the ROM manually. If you do decide to test the OTA updater scripts and it works, share with the community.

I'm saying about screenshots from Ace 2 (i'm mostly talking about ram usage and smoothness).
If only it is easy like this to make CM official ROM xD
i don't get it. what's the difference between an unofficial ROM and an official one?
Not any bug deal but it is cool to have official rom support xD
I see no difference for end user (hmm at least codina user)

Introduction
I started this project as a one-time test. But something was still bothering me - the latest version of CM for locked bootloaders was outdated
, so I released my test build to public. It received so much appreciation so I thought to release this periodically - and weeklies, released in the Friday-Saturday-Sunday period are the best I can give to the community. So, now just enjoy CyanogenMod for locked bootloaders!

Changelog
Build #12.5
- added intellimm, a new governor by faux123
It's so new that it's not on any govenor mega list, so here's some info about it:
intelliminmax (intellimm) governor is designed to work with the newer SOCs with fixed voltage rails (ie MSM8974+ SOCs). It is designed to work within thosefixed voltage ranges in order to maximize battery performance while creating a smooth UI operations.
So that's the theory, in practise it's only using three frequencies most often. It look like a stupid idea at a first glance, but the governor gave me another hour of screen on time(previously I was getting 4 hours, now I'm getting 5 hours with minimal perfomance impact)
Some more info here:
https://plus.google.com/+PaulReioux/posts/DkCKEWRJFnf
- added msm_cpufreq_limiter, so now the frequency of the second core is following the user's choice (previously the second core's max frequency was stuck on 1728Mhz)
- added TCP congestion algorithms:
* bic
* westwood
* highspeed
* hybla
* htcp
* vegas
* veno
* scalable
* lp
* yeah
* illinois
Some results with different ones:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28152737&postcount=2
(scroll down and skip all the tweakable values of other things)
- previous lagfix integrated
Build #12.1
- lags fixed
- discard option removed from fstab
Build #12
- fixed glove mode reverting after some time
- added another batch of governors, this time they are more "modern", and imo they are one of the best in its kind:
*smartassV2
*intellidemand2
*intelliactive
(thanks DooMLoRD and pec0ra)
*abyssplug
*adaptive
*badass
- added ROW I/O scheduler(thanks pec0ra)
- now ROM boots with noop, and after booting the default is row
- now ROM boots with performance governor set on boot, and then it gets back to interactive - the good old CM default
- merged improvements from the official trees
- added ZRAM driver, use any app, like Trickster Mod or Performance Control to set it up(thanks bagyusz for the idea and faux123 for the updated zram in Doomlord's kernel)
- CM source update(built off the stable branch)
- added frandom module(fast random number generator, works like Seeder - fyi - seeder and frandom don't give us such wonderful effects as on 2.3, but it at least decreases latencies, so it's an improvement )
- fixed mirroring sound thanks to @Steph310
- fixed SIM storage(SIM contacts, etc.)-proof:
- lowered the lowest brightness value from 10 to 1(seems like stock also uses that as the lowest one)
Older builds:
Build #11
- CM source update, check cmxlog for more info
- added some governors for you to choose and play , like:
* conservative
* lagfree
* lionheart
* powersave
* wheatley
- added some IO schedulers to go with the governors :
* sio
* vr
* bfq
* fifo
* fiops
* zen
Have fun finding the best combination for you!
The modules were compiled from their trees, so I have to at least mention them
Build #10
- CM source update
- SIM ICC number reading is fixed now(part of upcoming SEEK support)
- working FM radio reciever support
- working FM radio transmitter support - I guess you can make your own radio station that can transmit waves in a ~1m radius But to be serious - this could help people who want to listen to their music collection in a car that doesn't have bluetooth.
- cleaned up the leftovers from the faulty commits
- use the correct qc-opt library for power HAL to function properly
Build #9
- CM source update, check cmxlog for more info
Merged some bagyusz improvements, like:
- small cleanup in sources
- added dumpstate back for bug reporting
Build #8
- CM source updates, check them out:
http://www.cmxlog.com/11/huashan
- reverted to the source-built RIL, let me know if it fixes the connectivity issues(especially data connections, like LTE, etc., etc.)
- cleanups to the makefiles
- small changes to RIL
- switch to the c2d composition type(previously cpu was doing all the job, now the screen composing is split between CPU and GPU)
Build #7
- GPU drivers updated to newest available ones (yuga .283 firmware ones)
- swapped EGL config with a proper one, now it references adreno instead of adreno200
- add setup_fs service into the init part - if your device was freshly unlocked, it will prepare the filesystem on /data for you
- removed wheatley and lionheart governors, as they were a little bit bugged
- cherrypicked some bagyusz commits(most of them, just without the whole device tree splitting, I'm leaning towards unification where possible with UB trees)
- hijack.tar is now split into two parts - backend.tar and ramdisk.tar(it creates more room for homemade experiments, and makes users more safe - now you need to screw up two files instead of one to make the device unusable)
- minor cleanup in the ramdisk scripts, to make it more like in the official repos
- revert back to official releasetools(updater-script and binary in the final package) to make flashing more seamless and "stable"
And, this is something that you won't expect:
- CM source updates, covered in the good old nightly flavour
Build #6
- merged all the improvements from official trees, like:
* new qcom power HAL
* new libqc-opt.so library
- one change to GPU driver subsystem that's not even committed yet(test the gaming performance and tell me if it's better, for me it fixed choppy menu animations in GTA:SA)
- CM source updates:
* SystemUI crashes fixed
* other improvements, check cmxlog.com for the full CM change list
- probably more stuff that I can't recall, I'm a little bit sick
Anyways, enjoy!
Build #5
- removed FM radio
- CM source update
- lags fixed
- audio imbalance fixed
Build #4
- added FM radio(not working right now)
- fixed reboots when using BT and mirroring
- CM source update
- VPNs fixed
- possibly battery drain fixed
Build #3:
- xLoud - not the real one, but done with editing sound card control files
- touch sensitivity fixed
- CM sources update
Build #2:
- added I/O speedup on early-init
- CM source update
- speed up booting by a large margin
- remove knight rider led animation
- misc cleanups in our device trees(nfcee debug features enabled)
- Add glove mode toggle
Build #1:
- CyanogenMod source updates( many fixes to Telephony, Camera and others)
- Sony RIL(some bugs fixed)
- Fixed echoes in speakerphone calls

Nope I hate this nightly system... Just weekly one fully stable like you do your work mr prefect mr steve ?

Oh! Nice! The nightlies that come out in the 28-8 build can be installed? I thought that in the LBL ROMs they couldn't be installed.
Thanks

Q. What is a toolchain?
In software, a toolchain is the set of programming tools that are used to create a product (typically another computer program or system of programs). The tools may be used in a chain, so that the output of each tool becomes the input for the next, but the term is used widely to refer to any set of linked development tools.
A simple software development toolchain consists of a compiler and linker to transform the source code into an executable program, libraries to provide interfaces to the operating system, and a debugger. A complex product such as a video game needs tools for preparing sound effects, music, textures, 3-dimensional models, and animations, and further tools for combining these resources into the finished product.

Amazing, thanks! Is this build based on Lysergic Acid's CM12 tree for the i9100? I didn't see him credited...

No. This is based on the Slim Sources(device and kernel tree). Had it been based on CM12 sources, I would have surely given the credit to Lysergic Acid.
Would soon fix all the bugs to provide an awesome experience.

That's even more amazing! So now LP ROMs will be easier to build and maintain, given that there are two different device trees for the phone.

Can't wait to use that ROM, but I can't use it before Bluetooth and Wifi are working.
I'm currently on Hazy (built by Sooti), which is an amazing ROM, AOSP-based (not CM). It's the only LP ROM that I found to have no issues, but I'm very much missing the pie control.
Let me know if I can help you get everything working. I'm a dev, but haven't really worked much on ROMs.

Adaptive Brightness optimizes brightness level for available light. Whereas, Adaptive Backlight dynamically adjusts the brightness of the display's backlight to maximize battery life while maintaining usability.
