You can unlock the bootloader using HTCDEV, but you will still be S-On. Rooting is also no problem. If you are trying to get S-OFF however, then I am not sure if that's possible at the moment.

Cool. Great info ...do you know if I can soff on 4.3?

I'm not sure. I have seen threads that say it is possible, but I have not tried it, since I'm already S-OFF.

Unlocked bootloader through HTC

Ok so now that we can unlock our bootloader through HTC what's next? Does this turn S off? I know I'm going to have to install a recovery still, but does this give me the capability to install superuser? Does anyone have any idea what options I will have once I unlock it through HTC? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

No it does not turn off Ship S-off...And u cant flash a custom recovery either when using HTc unlocker
yes. with S off you can install custom recovery like any PG image
It doesn't take S-off. I have read that TWRP doesnt work and CWM has and hasnt worked.

ditto. i have only had this phone a couple of weeks and a waited a while anticipating the "official" unlock, but i couldn't stand it. i went ahead a did it and i'm glad i did. besides, htc doesn't need to know i'm rooted anyway.
HTC never said it would be S-off only that the bootloader would be unlocked. You still need to find an exploit to gain s-off so a custom recovery can be installed. If you remember the original Evo had an unlocked bootloader but you still needed an exploit like unrevoked's rage against the cage to gain access to s-off and custom recovery. You still have alot of work ahead of you and now you've voided any warranty that isn't hardware related. Also, it says on the HTC's website that once you unlock any future OTA's may brick your phone. You are definitely better off using Revolutionary.io.
so could unrevoked come up with something now that the bootloaders are unlocked with HTC? to root the phone.

Is there an RUU that works for the AT&T HTC one?

Just noticed after a week with the phone, that the screen is pulling up out of the phone :\. Going to bring it to a store, but don't want it to be rooted/Rom'd etc.
Thanks.
Yes there is,
Look for it on the general section on the ATT forum/
Keep in mind that running the RUU will erase the sdcard also/
So I need to oem lock the phone, then run the RUU correct?
Yes you have to relock ur bootloader with out the tamper flag being tripped

Thank you!
I've got issues with my microphone and need to exchange it too. I don't know what the implications are but I think restoring it back to stock makes sense. Can you post your notes for this process?

I got an error 155 when trying to do this... Ill try in fastboot?
Working now, thanks

[Q] AT&T HTC One to INTL (after latest OTA)

I've stubbornly tried to keep my AT&T HTC One bone stock, never rooting and installing every OTA update.
If I now want to go to the latest stock International ROM (unrooted), is it correct that I have to use the downgrade procedure, which requires unlocking my bootloader? (I was under the impression that before the latest OTA with the updated HBOOT, the bootloader didn't have to be unlocked?)

Downgrading firmware not necessary. Unlock bootloader and flash custom firmware, then install custom ROM.
Unlocking bootloader always necessary for installing custom recovery and ROM.

Okay, I'm confused. I thought to use the International RUU, I had to SuperCID, which is done via revone and a HBOOT exploit. So, no bootloader unlock was required.
Am I incorrect?

If you're going to use RUU to convert your phone, then you are correct. If you are just going to install a ROM only and install firmware updates manually, then you would need to unlock bootloader and install custom recovery.

Now you have unlocked bootloader and soff.
Do you need help with installing a custom recovery and then installed a custom rom?
