Hi. I recently swopped my Sony Experia Z1 for a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I believe the handset is rooted. I only know this because one of my favourite apps wont work and i got a message telling me it wont work on a rooted device. My problem however is this. When i go into settings and connections and select the screen mirroring, instead of searching for available devices it just says empty.

This is very frustrating. The problem also applies to S-Beam and Kies etc although i dont really care very much for those.
Can anyone offer some advice as to why this is happening?
I should mention the phone is running Android 4.4
Thanks

hi, let me introduce myself, my name is mike and i just rooted my Samsung note 717 AT&T. using cwm and superuser.zip
(im a little scared about cwm cause there's a lot of bad story's about it. )
not even real sure how i did it, but first few times i tried, i messed it up , used odin to install original firmware (which still wont work with kies) then rooted it. it works ok(except play store wont let me download my old aps- says not available for your phone)
this is new stuff to me, as i used to have an iPhone, and android is much more open.
my question for everyone is , when i had the outofthebox factory 2.3 note, i could use live wallpapers as my lock-screen and my background. but since updating to 4.0.4, they took that feature out.
i know i can use widget locker and a few others from the play store, but i would like to fix this bug myself. plus i really don't like the layout or look of the play store lock screen programs.
Hi,
I fear this may be a silly question, but I've traversed the Internet as well as this forum and cannot seem to find an answer.
This issue happens on both a newly updated Galaxy S3 running 4.1.1 and Note 2 running the same operating system. Both devices were purchased unlocked in the UK.
Basically, whenever I try to add a widget to one of the home screens by dragging and dropping, the relevant app is launched, rather than the widget being added to the screen. I can add regular app short cuts just fine - this only happens with the widgets.
I've been using the Galaxy S3 for five months now with ICS installed and this issue never happened. I updated to 4.1.1 yesterday. The Note 2 was purchased today and the same issue happens.
I suspect the solution may well be very simple, but I can't seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Guys, i need help, i recently rooted my device to Jellybean 4.1.2 from a specific website, after downloading the filoe which is about 700mb, installed it on my phone, everything looks great until i notice that im unable to make phone calls, dialer and phone apps are not on my device anymore, texting or messaging app is still there but calling feature was removed.
I would really appreciate any help.. Thanks ..
Hello guys! As first i wanna say thanks a lot for everything you guys do *(This is meant for Developers, Helpers, Admins....,and everybody else that contributes!)* XDA is the best website of its kind - THANKS TO YOU!
Okay so, recently i decided to treat myself with a Phone watch - Samsung Galaxy Gear S from T-MOBILE. i always liked technology and new things that come out and they are one of a kind for a period of time. Phone i have the watch paired with is mine LG G3 from VERIZON, rooted running on Jasmine ROM V3.0 - 4.4.2.
To connect the phone to the watch (Gear Manager APP) i used the tutorial from this forum (Duhhhh.... Where else?! ) if anybody needs it click HERE
Now, when i connected my GEAR S to my G3, the watch did factory reset, which deleted all the apps that were on it which i installed using my old Samsung Galaxy S3 (I do not use it at all, its a ,,backup'' phone etc...)
The question is : Is there any way i could install some apps on the GEAR S without resetting it to factory defaults, and pairing with S3?
I read somewhere you can push em somehow, but first how do i get the apps itself? Im missing a lot of apps and if i wont be able to install anything i dont see a need to use the device till i get some apps on it like OPERA etc... Some useful stuff.
I hate the games that manafacturers play these days. All this stuff to make your life more difficult. Selling a watch which has its own sim card, own internet connection etc... I dont know why they just wont put an APP STORE on the watch.
Now if there is a way to install Samsung APP MARKET on my LG G3, and my phone will be able to push apps into GEAR S please post an tutorial or at least instruction, i will be more than happy to read it, test it and by the way i would make a nice long tutorial for the users of this great forum.
Ps. I tried installing the Samsung Market yesterday (i found an APK available for download) but the APK didnt install. It failed. What i did is edited my build.prop for the phone to identify as GT-i9500 and it bricked my phone 3 - it would boot but my launchers wouldn't load and just kept saying that the application has crashed, over and over and over again. I had a backup which i replaced using TWRP file manager, and fixed my phone..
Well, i hope somebody will be able to help!
Ps2. Just a little offtopic - Do you guys think that Samsung Gear S would of been better with Android as OS? I belive so!
Thank you very much for your time!:good:
Im post instructions HOW to install samsung apps market in THIS thread... read all thread and pages from my post to the end of thread...
Hello,
I have tried the steps described in post #212 in the how to pair with non Samsung device topic, however the app can now detect that build.props have been tempered and won't connect to it. After I used the trick to click the watch icon I was able to active the watch, however connecting to my Nexus 5 proves to be not so easy task
If anyone has connected the phone can you post a short guide on how to connect it(which version of the Host Manager, Gear Manager and the Stub are you using will be enough).
Ty
I'd also like information about this. I have a Nexus 5 and just got a Gear S, and all of the tutorials for making them compatible, here and elsewhere, are out of date and broken by Marshmallow. In any case they don't work for me. Is it possible now? Could a new tutorial be put together?
I am seriously thinking about reverting back to 5.1.1 as waiting for Samsung to update their apps for Android 6.0 would take some time as even their S6 Edge frontman phone has not received Marshmallow, yet ;(
android wear with Gear S
until then ..maybe android wear for Gear S? any news on that part of dev ?

Can you give me solution in 5.1.1 how paired ?
I've used the BlissPop Rom with the solution in this post:

No need to change your build.prop if you preactive your watch.
However the thing that annoyed me most was that it doesn't matter if I pick up the call on my phone or watch, the call always gets transferred to the watch. So you have to manually transfer the call to the phone each time you get one....
Not to mention that I got contacts synced somehow, but the messages and any other app's notification, did not get send to my watch, even when the app is selected in Gear Manager notification settings....
So I ended up buying used S5 and tbh after removing some of the bloat I enjoy the S5 more that I did my Nexus 5.
