Doesn't boot stuck in reboot. Tried fastboot erase cache still no help.
Try reflash in recovery. If still no boot then you should try restoring a backup, or download the rom again and push it to your phone through adb push and then try flashing again. It may have been a bad download. When you reflash factory reset (this does not clear the virtual SD card) wipe the system, then install the rom, then wipe dalvik and cache and see if you can get it to boot.

Thanks
I wasn't really stuck been though this with other roms just meant that's far as I could get flashing the rom. I tried reflashing clean and dirty with same result. I guess it is a bad download I'll try again later. It took 6 hours then failed at 98% first time on phone, and finally on computer got in about 4 hours. Thanks for the advice though.
I am interested in the rom too. But the download times are crazy. Still haven't got a good download yet.

The same problem. They said 'You should flash custom recovery' that they recommended in their thread but I not try it yet.

When I had a captivate, anytime I flashed a new rom it wiped my phone. Now it looks like the theme is applied but all my applications, settings, texts, everything stays on the phone.
Also, I just installed the cherrypi rom and I don't have a camera app. Tried reinstalling and still nothing. Does launcher pro mess with roms? Didn't think so but checking...

Happened again, I flashed alien and it changes the build in settings but it doesn't remove anything. Kenn says that it removes bloatware but nothing was removed...

You need to wipe before and after flashing custom ROMs, bro.
If flashing via CWM, wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik... before and after.
If flashing via fastboot, do a "moto-fastboot -w", after flashing the rom.
Alright in CWM I select wipe data and wipe dalvik. It still doesn't wipe anything. I thought this was weird so I asked. I may just do it from boot (hold down after power on, select recovery, etc.). Ill try that and see what happens. Its just going to wipe from internal right?

You have to use tenfar's cwm to wipe. If you're using Rom Manager's recovery then the wipe doesn't work.
The best way so far to clean data is start phone in fastboot mode (turn on phone with vol down key pressed, then press vol up) and using command line send fastboot -w, if you need to delete other partition you can use fastboot erase <partition>, then fastboot restart
Thanks, I know what I did now. I updated CWM from the market and reflashed to a different version...it was working fine after I unlocked my BL, and then I thought it just stopped working. Thanks for the help folks!

I installed the latest version of RemICS by using TWRM. (First deleted the caches and did that afterwards as well.)
Now the phone is still on the ReMICS - UX bootscreen, already for quite a long time. How long does this usually take the first time after flashing? We are talking about 15 minutes already. The bootscreen is still animated and moving and not frozen. Any thoughts on this?
Or is it impossible to succefully flash via TWRM?
Maybe a bad flash. Go back into recovery, clear data and cache, then reflash the ROM.
It that doesn't work download the file again and flash it.

I flashed it again. deleted the caches AND did a reset to factory defaults, which I thought you did anyway when deleting the caches and system files. That solved the issue for me. Thanks for the reply.
I had 4.0 installed and rooted for a little while now.
So I wanted to install CM10 so I followed this guide http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-note-i717-roms/cm10-jelly-bean-rom-for-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717/
I just backed up everything in CWM then install TWRP since he said you might need it, I backed up in TWRP and then I flashed cm-10-20121006-UNOFFICIAL-quincyatt.zip in TWRP restarted and now its Looping the boot animation for CyanogenMod.
I read in the thread a lot of people are having this problem but no one is giving a clear fix for it.
I can get Odin Mode by holding power and volume down, but I am not sure what to do from here?
Try booting into recovery mode (hold volume down and up then hold power) and restore your backup before doing anything with odin
Shouldn't be a problem if you wipe before flashing

I would ....yes
Then....you must "always " wipe caches, data , system before flashing a
New build....otherwise you'll get loops and data corruption...g
Are you sure its looping? I've had some ROMs take like ten minutes to boot. As long as you can get to recovery or download mode you can work your way back read the super thread really well and go slow good luck

When I stepped up to the 4.2 ROM I did the usual wipe and got the boot loop too.
Update to TWRP 2.4
Wipe caches
Factory reset
Flash ROM, let it settle in for a few hours, don't install anything.
Flash gapps and set up your apps
I got the 10 minute boot (I don't wait well ),anyway I went back to recovery /twrp re-wiped installed again and now on (no 2/flapps. Nightly) ,Go where ya want but I would advise against rootgalaxy for future use ,stick with xda ,tons to learn right here

I am at a lose for what to do here.
I re installed peach sunrise on my Rooted Samsung Exhibit 2 to sell.
Did everything I had done before, but this time it is stuck in boot loop.
I've wiped cache, rom, dalvik, cache/dalvik, and data as someone told me to do.
Then re installed the rom.
Restart it up and bam boot look once again.
I've done this a million times..
HELP ME!
Perhaps I'm just doing it wrong? I haven't a clue. Anyone know how to fix this right now?
It can't be this hard..
Download the stock rom of your phone, wipe your whole phone, flash the stock rom via odin on pc while your device is connected to it.
Once installed wipe all your caches and restart the phone.
Now install the custom rom you wanted.
I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Rareme.

This is my first time trying to install this I have a Samsung galaxy s2 T989 And I'm pretty sure I've done it right. I factory wiped it, cleared the cache and the cleared the cache in advanced settings. It's been atlesst over 10min and its still on the blue circle just spinning around.
Can someone please help me?
When I installed cm10.2 for the first time mine done that. Best bet and worked for me is do a battery pull and reboot. If that don't push you past the spinning circle which I ran across you should reinstall the ROM again and it should boot up just fine. Hope this helps

You've bootlooped it. The T989 is a pain when flashing custom ROM's because the custom recovery's built in wipe doesn't quite work for it.
Keep this ZIP handy as you'll be needing to run it every single time you need to wipe data/cache and dalvik. Don't ever ever use any other means of wiping aside from this one until this issue is fixed. I've been doing this for a while and have flashed upwards of 20 ROM's on my T989 alone.
It's called Darkside Super Wipe.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477955
So, just put that ZIP on your SD card, along with your custom ROM and appropriate Gapps. Flash Darkside first (always) then flash ROM then Gapps. Then reboot and problem solved!!
Good luck!! :highfive:
So after putting that in my sd card. Install that and gapps and cm10.2?

Yup, install Darkside Super Wipe first, then install the ROM zip then Gapps. Then reboot!
Should I factory reset and clear caches first or no?

Nope, just run the Darkside Super Wipe and it'll erase all /system, /data and /cache partitions. And like the thread says, it won't wipe your SD card or EMMC.
Just make sure you don't leave the recovery without flashing the ROM and Gapps
Also, you should get in the habit of making backups. You can make them from CWM or TWRP's custom recovery.
Titanium backup is an application on the Google Play store that you should look into as well my friend.
T989 Tears
Very finicky phone for customs. On mine I can get no ROM to fully load other than the stock Koodo 4.04, and CM 10.0 I flashed the latest radio for JB, darkside super wipe, flash custom rom, flash gapps, wipe dalvik. The same process for every ROM i try... still no success, 10.2 stays at boot. Dirty Unicorns starts boot, goes through the "optimizing apps" stage gets to the "starting apps" and reboots, lather, rinse, repeat. I've tried a few others, AOKP and some others. Still only Koodo 4.04 and CM 10.0 will fully boot. Not even the stock T-mobile 4.03 will boot (came with phone). Going to give JMT a shot, it looks pretty
