How to set an sms blocking app over handcent? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have found a very good program for call/sms blocking but the sms part is not working so good because is conflicting with handcent. I need to set it so it intercepts before handcent, but I'm not being able to do that. The message is going directly to handcent. any help is appreciated.

[Q] Is there an app to remove old text messages?

I know the stock Messaging app has an option to remove text messages over xxx messages but it doesn't work. I have 700+ text messages with some of my contacts and I'd like something to automatically remove all the messages over 200, i.e. I'd like no more than 200 texts per contact.
Anyone know of a program that will do this?
Handecent
try handecent sms, I think that It has this feature, I cant check at the moment. But iirc it does.
I tried posting a link but I dont have more than 10 posts so I cant. It should be easy to find.
hope this helps. Either way its a great app.
go sms pro has a remove old messages feature. its pretty good actually. plus its free of charge!

[Q] SMS apps questions

I've been looking at alternative SMS apps because I wanted to get rid of the MMS showing as slideshows and it looks like the only one doing it properly (displaying the image and text inside the conversation view) is SMSdroid, which doesn't have many other functionalities. Is there another SMS app doing that? I tried GOsms, Handcent and ChompSMS but I could have missed their option to do so.
Another question I have is why so many SMS apps run a service constantly while some don't and still receive incoming SMS? I try to keep as few services running in the background as possible to save battery life.

[Q] KitKat bug: SMS sent from non-default app results in duplicate outgoing message

Using GlowFly, SMS Enhancer, and SMS Popup (all similar apps), and their Quick Reply feature, stock messaging and Chomp both show the same message going out twice (the recipient actually receives one message).
I believe this is because of KitKat's new requirement of a default SMS app being the only one that can send. However, Quick Reply circumvents it, and I think it results in this bug.
Anyone know what I can do to fix it? I love the feature.
Thanks!

Set Text Messaging App to Send Long Messages as MMS

Is there a way to set the stock texting app to send long messages as one MMS instead of multiple SMS? My contacts are tired of receiving multiple broken up texts. I don't mind switching to a different texting app if it offers this function.
I tried playing around with the settings but couldn't find anything. There is an option to re-assemble long messages, but that is only when you receive them, not when sending.
There may be a limit for some reason. You could always try an alternative message app like Go SMS or Handcent.

SMS from application.

How do I find the sms that an application sends? Ie nfl mobile has sms permission. Just would like to see if apps are sending sms. I've checked my default messenger app and googles new message app. Any ideas or thoughts? Also I am not rooted.
