[Q] Semi transparent lockscreen backgound when switchiing on phone - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
After 2 years I am finally back from iOS to Android 4.4.2 on my new Nexus 5.
I flashed the newest version Paranoid Android and now I am seeking for a lockscreen layout that can replace the iOS lockscreen notifications I got really used to.
Dashclock combined with Dash Notifier seems like a good alternative but I now have some strange lockscreen behaviour of which I don't know if it's normal or because of some settings I missed.
Every time I expand / shrink for security code input I see a semi transparent white rectangle (as seen in the pictures attached).
Is this normal? If not is there any setting I missed, if yes, is there any possibility to avoid this? I don't use any lockscreen replacement at the moment...
Thanks!

i stumbled upon dashclock widget and it's extensions last night and tried it out and pretty impressed by it .the problem you pointed out seems the feature of it that a semi white box shows up on lockscreen actually it's part of expanding or shrinking the dashclock. Actually i had a question for you if you could take a look at this link and tell me how to set up dashclock notifier right next to the clock widget as seen in that pic? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51150628&postcount=1237

Calendar events on lockscreen?

Is it possible to have upcoming events from the calendar on the lockscreen?
I'd like to keep teh TW lockscreen.
Maybe via modding? eg replacing the stocks ticker or the news ticker?
Does anyone know if this would be possible?
up , i need this option

I know you want to keep the TW lockscreen...but alternatively, I use Widget Locker lockscreen with Android Agenda Widget. (back since my HD2 days)
TRUST ME...I have owned widget locker for several years and watched it progress. It runs absolutely FLAWLESS on my S3. It has TONS of options/switches to make your every scenario happen without glitches. And there are so many choices for sliders etc.
Anyway, Agenda Widget has many options as well....actually so many it can be quite confusing. I have it listing my next 6 calendar events with TODAYS current events bold and brighter. So when I turn my screen on....that's 1 single button push....I can see my days events...if I have them. To me, this si fast and efficient.
I keep a Handcent widget on it for reading my recent text message...again...1 click....and several sliders including one that opens my camera for quick scenario photo taking. Widgets are overlap-able and resizable etc. (I am not affiliated...just proud)
Widget locker has only one bug which is very annoying.
If you get a Msg, and you've set the Pop Up to come, try unlocking the screen.
The pop up would display for a very short time before WL.
This doesn't happen with TW lockscreen.

[Q] [4.2] widget on lockscreen widget?

Hi all,
I'm not particularly sure I chose the right forum, but hey, maybe you can point me to the right place
I do have an Android 4.2.2 ROM on my phone, and I'd like to have a special widget on my lockscreen widget (it's an app displaying emergency info for paramedics, and as such intended to be shown on lockscreen). But so far I didn't manage to add it - either it takes the whole lockscreen and there's no romm for clock, wheather etc. or I can't display it on the primary lockscreen at all
My best shot so far seems to be DashClock, but among the numerous extensions I couldn't find one that displays any of the installed widgets which I could put on my homescreen.
Did I miss something? An extension? Or is there some generic way or a different lockscreen widget I could use?
Any hints appreciated

[Q] Is it possible to have a fullscreen lockscreen widget by default?

Hi I'm running the Hyperdrive rom and would like to get this ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nurik.roman.dashclock ) lockscreen widget to start open on my phone. Right now it only displays the clock part and I have to pull the little transparent box down to view the notifications. I would rather have the widget be displayed like this

than like this minimized version when i first unlock the phone

Are there any mods or tweaks to accomplish this? thanks

Those last two links don't work. Have you tried WidgetLocker and one of the many UCCW widgets? When I used to use a lock screen that was my set up. WidgetLocker also has a hide notification bar option so it's truly full screen.
Here are some options I found with a clock and dynamic unread message notification:
• Quick Settings
• UCCW Stripes
• Cabona UI
There's tons more.

Thanks for responding, but i'm looking to get this dashclock widget working. I uploaded the screenshots as attatchments so maybe you can get a better idea of what I am talking about. Right now the widget starts minimized and I have to swype down to open it which defeats the purpose of the widget. I think this is a feature of touchwiz, not sure though. I would like to start the widget in a maximized state so I can easily view all of the info it provides. I don't see how I can accomplish this with widgetlocker. Thank you for helping out though.

[Q] Why is widget grid size limited when customize on your own phone?

I get that the developers/designers are only doing themes for specific screen resolutions right now, but why is the core tools for creating custom Themer widgets restricted by large grid settings?
Confused as to what I mean? Please let me explain.
I can create a custom widget, which starts with the background box. But, in order to line the background box up with my home page background, I have to set the color of the background widget to a solid color and then resize it since it doesn't visualize the snap-to grid element (which it does).
So, as I said above, why is this limitation there in the first place? On my Note 2 I can't create a widget that goes to the top of my screen because it is out of bounds of my screen and when I go to add elements to the widget, they don't line up correctly unless I resize the widget background box to snap to below the top of my screen (by a good amount).
So, is it at least possible to have the default grid snap distance greatly reduced or give us an option to set it ourselves in regards to setting the widget itself?
I've encountered zero issue with moving elements within a widget box other than the inability to lock items individually once placed (that would truly help in them designing).
Sorry for any confusion, I'm not aware of the standard labels for the various design elements of a widget or the like.

Hows it going? Im Bill from MCS.
Im a still a bit confused as to what you are asking and what tools it is that you are using in Themer that are giving you the issue.
Im sure you have already made sure that padding is turned OFF in the settings, but I have to say just to be safe.
IF you are getting spaced on the sides or top or your widget, you might want to check to see if you are using odd numbers for the Grid (rows and columns). Because of the way custom build widgets from WYSIWYG editors like Zooper and Everything widget render on the screen you might be a 1px gap if you are using odd numbered Rows or Columns in your grid.
This is the first thing I would check. I have seen an issue where for some reason I get a 2 or 4px padding on the top and bottom of the widgets. It only happens to me now and again. I can usually delete the widget and re-add it to get rid of the issue.

Sprint Lollipop uodate Accuweather Widget Transparent

So I have the new Sprint update for the Note 3. I noticed the weather widget seem different. It kind of gives more info on there (a little arrow that gives you the temps in a line graph. I probably have noticed cause I usually goto some other altered version)
The the transparency option is gone. Anyway to get that widget transparent? I kind there is is some way by editing the widget's images amd I could've swore I ran into someone that did that. So anyone know how to get it tranparent without changing to a different Accuweather version??
