Hi Guys,
I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500, running Android JB 4.2.2.
I've been having hard times trying to understand a specific detail in the Android Battery Built-In Monitoring Tool, accessible by navigating to Settings-->More-->Battery.
I don't understand the meaning of the blue bars associated with each app.
To make things simpler I've attached a screenshot, and as can be seen each app has an associated blue bar.
The apps TuneIn Radio and Google Search each consumed 5% of the battery power, however they differ in the length of the blue bars where TuneIn Radio has a longer bar than Google Search.
Just to add another thing not shown in the screenshot, the Screen consumed 26% of the battery power and its associated blue bar is full.
So does anyone know what's behind those blue bars??
Any Reply is Appreciated

Has anyone else noticed the battery status icon seemingly displays less available battery power compared to the 10 block Battery Level in About Phone --> Status ?
Icon shows less than half full (about a third in the icon) when five blocks are filled (half full) ?
Which is correct ?
I agree with you - i am confused with which is correct.
The top battery icon is always less than the "About Phone" settings.
Maybe if we installed a 3rd party battery app....hmm....
Which one though ?? hmmm...
i think that they have an app on the market that displays percentage of battey left dont know the name of it though

maybe you could cross chek with the battery status from here.... from dialpad dial *#*#4636#*#* and then go to battery status . you can croos chek from here which is most accurate
Useful code, many thanks, will do this next time the battery is low.
Is there a list of these you could share ?

Hi everyone,
I have a SGS2 with I9100BVKL1 FW on 2.3.6. Yesterday i rooted with CF-root and after that flashed the original FW. This morning when i got the phone off charge i realized that in 3 hours the battery drained to 65%.
When i go to Battery Usage under Settings i noticed that the Awake blue bar is interrupted (i must mention that in that period where the Awake bar is interrupted i didn't touch the phone).
I also attached a photo of the screen.
Can anyone tell me if that is normal (the awake bar being interrupted) and if not any remedies?
Thank you in advance
P.S.
Sorry but i have the phone in romanian. The awake bar is the "Activ" bar under the WiFi bar.
I get this sometimes. Most likely is you have data networking on (mobile internet) and/or certain apps keep trying to update or sync at regular intervals which 'wakes' the phone. Until you root and remove all bloat, this is unavoidable. Oh and uncheck GPS settings in Locations & Services menu.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Thank you
Thank you for the response.
I ended up install betterbatterystats and i saw that under wakelock the aplication Tango was most active. I unistalled that application and now there are no problems. It was probably trying to access the net to do i don't know what.
Thanks again for the reply.
This is one of the most important feature for me. eventhough older phones had this, recent smartphones seem to ignore this much needed feature.
ok, coming to the point
I use liteflow and is it ok to blink it every 5 seconds to show me the phone signal. i somehow like that feature and ive concern whether it will 'really' affect my battery life and 'LED LIFE'. because in a day, if ive set the phone signal notification, it would blink thousands of time in day!!!.is that ok?
I'm not sure of the battery drain of using this but it surely can't be much, I guess you would be best to just try it out and post the results
I read that LightFlow causes significant wakelocks on the SGS3. Might want to watch out for that.
Yep, I'm happy too that they've bought back the led notification but I would also like to know how many colours this led can display. From the YouTube videos I've seen, it's more than three.
yes.use liteflow app. but even with that app, i dont see the custom color which i selected from the app used in led. its somewat matching. thats all
Wakelocks only occur when the app needs to switch the led colour, you can disable that feature in the settings, so that it only highlights the most recent notification.
Hello geeks,
I prostrate before ur dedication of sharing knowledge , am not hardccore android geek, am just a server admin..recently i bought HTC One x Plus..and its battery drains faster...please point me in right directin how to fix it , do u guys know any custom rom to increase battery life , and i havent root my phone yet..thanks in advance
First of all, if you have any software running in the background, no matter what ROM you use, the battery life will always be poor.
Let's go with this steps.
1. Restart your phone.
2. Download from google play Wakelock Detector.
3. (optionally) an app which shows you CPU usage like System Monitor.
4. Run Wakelock detector. At the top of it, there is a green/red bar. Red means there is something in the background running and eats your battery.
5. Turn off the screen for an hour (don't use your phone) and check Wakelock. Is the whole bar red? How much active percent do you have?

Right now am runing the tests as per ur advice bro...ll post the scrrenshot after an hour
Hello
As the title suggest i'm looking for an app that can monitor background proccesses while the screen is off, like one that can record and show which cpu processs ran the most, more like the "Show CPU Usage" feature on the Developer Options but one that can atleast record for me to check later which process ran the most. I know there are apps like Gsam but it doesn't do what i want it just shows Android Systen and Android OS it doesn't show which processes specifically. It should work without root as i'm not rooted.
This is all in the hope of dealing with the huge standby drain on the OJ5 firmware.
Thanks in advance
