Does anybody know how to enable or stream Bluetooth metadata to my car stereo from the Slacker Radio app?
I have a ATT Galaxy 4.2.2 and I am able to use the car buttons to pause and go to the next song in the Slacker app, but the song name and artist do not show up on the screen. I tried the modded Spotify app and that successfully streams Bluetooth metadata, but I could not find a mod for the Slacker app.
Does anybody else have this problem?

The stock media player on the SII streams MP3 metadata over bluetooth. My bluetooth car stereo picks this up and displays the track information.
However, no other android media player I have found has this capability. This is bloody annoying, surely this should be handled by the bluetooth stack and be available for free for all media streaming.
Is there any other media player out there that will stream track information over bluetooth?
hi
I have a 2012 Subaru with factory radio which has Bluetooth Streaming and calling.
Has any one of the SGS2-i9100 (or any SGS2 owners) got their bluetooth to work correctly with this radio
when they have multiple media player apps installed in the phone...?
I have 2 problems.
1. Auto launching of a media player on car-start, which I want to disable completely.
I dont want the car to launch anything, I want to control it from the phone manually
(how do I do that)
2. When I play podcasts through google listen on the car player, I see meta tag information
from the installed poweramp (which knows all my music.) on the car screen. I dont know
why it does that. If I hit vol+/- on the phone the meta tag information switches(scrolls) up or down in my
music list, but well I am listening to the podcast from google listen,...
I can switch(scroll) podcasts using the cars seek+ or seek- buttons. with no problems...
Any help would be appreciated..

Hello,
So I had an older car that didn't have bluetooth. I added my own bluetooth module to the aux in in that car and when my phone would pair audio wouldn't automatically play from any app. I would choose one and it would start. Now I just bought a newer car that has bluetooth built into the car and when I start my car it will open poweramp and start playing. Most of the time I listen to pandora so I have to stop poweramp and start pandora. I uninstalled poweramp and it automatically starts pandora now. I have all of the autoplay settings in poweramp disabled. Is there a way to pick which app will play music on connect?
If it matters I'm running Paranoidandroid 3.99RC2

Realistically you should be able to go into Bluetooth settings, long press on the device that is paired, and change the media functions. I have a spyder so can't test this out for you sorry. But that's the way all other bluetoothes work (minus headsets)
I have a Alpine car deck and a Android phone.
I can confirm that which connected via bluetooth to my car stereo while using the default music player to play music, song tags/information/track is displayed on my car stereo (I am assuming using AVRCP 1.3). However, I have tried poweramp and player pro and they both do not display the music info/tags/etc on my car stereo which is a big minus. Does anyone know if any other music apps on the market (besides the default android music player) will display via bluetooth/avrcp, all the song tag/information/track/etc?
thanks in advance

I also use poweramp and player pro, neither of which at this time will display info on car head unit..Latest Rocket player update does however display info. I don't like the interface as well as poweramp or player pro, but you get the features we are looking for like fade, crossfade, and track/artist display on your car unit.
What music player app do you use for bluetooth in your car?
I'm trying to find a player that will work with bluetooth in my car but every player I tried doesn't work in my car. No song info is shown and I can't change songs on the steering wheel, everytime I do it pauses and I can't get to play again through the car.
The stock player does all that but it doesn't have a good eq like poweramp or the fading options like that.
I've tried playerpro, rocket music player, jetaudio, and n7player but none of them work with bluetooth
N7 works over Bluetooth for me. Same with Google Play and numerous streamers like Pandora and Songza to name a few.

I have never had this problem ever, on several devices and cd players. But, my habitual usage includes Google play music app. It works well enough for me, and is fast on hsdpa or better.

Any player should work over BT. Once your connection is up, just navigate to the player and you should be good to go. Since BT is just providing the A2DP connection, the player doesn't care where the music is being sent to. It just plays it to the audio out source. I think your problem is your headunit, but can't be 100% sure. My players (all of them, both streaming and non-streaming) work on any BT car I've connected too. Some cars won't display the album cover art and so forth, but the music comes across just fine.
Well any music app will play music, but I can't seem to change the song from my headunit, it has to be changed from the phone. Changing songs from the car will pause it everytime.
I would like this feature to work with my car on an app like poweramp
For me, All the controls work from steering wheel for every music player I used (from stock to ASOP) May be it depends on car stereo too.
