This is what I shot at 120fps with my stock G2 on Android 4.4.2 kitkat. Here's the raw video file http://goo.gl/Zz9BJY.Using this mod http://goo.gl/inMVVb .Blame YouTube for any stuttering because there wasn't any on my end.

Rooted stock KK.

Why not mention that you're rooted and using a modified camera app from either xdabbeb or Jishnu Sur? The stock KK app doesn't shoot 120fps. Follow on Twitter and G+ for what updates? Are you currently modifying the camera app also?

it's not raw and note it's shot @120fps meaning ultra smooth not slow motion. It's the software u use to playback that can make it slowmo like the iphone 5s' video player.Or else it's just ultra smooth video.I processed this from a screen capture while slowing down the video using mpc.The processing rendered 1080p.

This mod is like the G2 camera mods. Same concept. The 4k video on the G3 is great, however when recording water or the sky you do notice that the birate could be better. 30mbps is ok, but not on a UHD or 4k monitor or TV. Its set by LG to keep the file size down of course and maybe due to micro sdcard IO speeds. But a quick media_profile.xml edit and this can remedy the pixelation due to low bit rate. Going past 40mbs might cause stutter. I'm testing higher birates.
The experienced user can do this themselves of course, simple media_profile edits. But this is aimed at people that don't want to risk editing the media_profile.xml or new to this and what the easy path.
How to apply:
Unzip and replace the attached media_profile.xml with the included one to system/etc overwrite it and reboot. (Use root explorer or any good root file manager) Tested and working on my G3. I have also set JPEG quality to 100% on all modes. This gives a very slight improvement to photos and a minor file size increase (~5%)
Changes:
Version 1
Bitrate on 4K videos increased from 30mbps to 40mbps
Photo jpeg quality compression set to 100
Version 2:
Replaces the default 1080p 30fps to 1080p 60fps @ 30mbps

Camera mod v2

The media_profile.xml v2 edit is up. Adds 30mbps 1080p at 60fps over the default 1080p FHD profile
Replace the file and reboot
I saw the samples from the slow motion feature ([email protected]) and they're not so good. If it possible to make it better that would be awesome!
:good:
Has anyone done a comparison [email protected] vs [email protected]?
is it a massive difference (visually)??
Not sure if this is possible or not. I have been using this mod and pictures do look great and the bit rate is noticeably better.
One thing I would love is to be able to record 1080p videos at 24fps. I loved the look and feel it gave my videos on my lumia 1020.

Thank you very much.
Actually I want 59.94, not 60fps.
Can it be arranged?
I would like to make everyone aware of a camera app called Mi2raw, which enables easy RAW capture ALSO on the G2!
Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maginmp.app.mi2raw&hl=nl (all credit to MaGin)
Thread: http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mi2-mi2s-app-mi2raw-–-enables-capturing-real-raw.23563/
In my opinion, only one thing is missing to enhance the G2 camera, which is manual shutter speed control.
I read that the ZTE nubia Z5s has the ability to select a manual shutter speed (don't know what the range is).
I wonder if the nubia camera app could also be ported, I think the Z5s has the same IMX135.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.nubia.camera&hl=nl
EDIT: Sorry everyone, I didn't realize the version you got is probably 2.4 which indeed only works for Mi2. However, I'm in the beta team, and I have access to the 2.6 version of the app.
I can assure you it works.
Edit 2: the new app will be available soon from play store. I cannot share it at this time. I promise it will happen

The app from the Play Store only works on stock ROM.
I can provide app that works on custom ROM based on LG G2 ROM, but I must ask permission from the developer.
This app probably doesnt work on CM based ROMs.
Probably due to missing modules or whatever.

Working. Thanks.
How do we decode DNG files? RAW Decoder from Play Store cannot do that.
Does this require root on LG D802?
Or I just install apk on unrooted stock firmware?
Is backup needed before installing?
For raw image editing, I see that people recommend Adobe Camera Raw.
The official thread for the Mi2Raw application can be found here.
Hey Guys,
is it possible to take a slow motion video like with the iphone 6?
for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gmo_xItm_tI
The video starts in normal speed, then changed in slow motion speed and goes back to normal speed...
So you can make a video and anytime you change for a short time into the slow motion mode.
Is this possible with tha Alpha or ss there a solution for it?
Thank you,
kind regards!

This exact video was sped up after it was filmed on iphone, in video editor app. Sadly alpha doesn't capture sound in slow-mo, and i cant find any apps that would record proper slow-motion or apps, that would allow to speed up parts of the video.

I really doubt the SoC supports 60fps video recording. I looked a lot into it a while ago, went so many ways, but I kept failing.

Hello guys, the update 8.0.0.162 just appeared on FF
EIS is here guys !!
I will install asap and report back
See the attachement for the Changelog
Unfortunately, the update is not approved for my device yet, so I will wait for another week or two to have it updated on my phone.
Just installed the update using the no check recovery,
EIS is here for 720p and 1080p30fps. It's not available for 1080p60fps or 4k

Ahm.... EIS for pictures does not exist Maybe the EIS option is going to be available for 1080p 60 fps in any of the future updates, but unfortunately we are not going to have EIS for the 4K recording because of the Kirin 970. P20 Pro and Mate 10 Pro are having the same stabilization - 1080p 60fps + EIS with not stabilization at 4K.

I am surprised because I was using Honor 8 a few months ago and it has EIS for 1080p (I believe for 1080p 60 fps) and it worked really good. The picture is cropped when the EIS is turned on because this is how the feature actually works. Hopefully, it is going to be improved in the future.
