getting very less battery backup from siyah kernel ...any ways to improve the battery drain issues

Reflash entire stock rom with Odin. Don't have one ? Get one from Samfirmware (not 4.0.4). Don't know how to flash ? Thread stickied near top of Q&A titled 'Flash stock firmware'.
P.S - Use a descriptive thread title in future, many people will simply not read threads titled 'Help me guys'. You're lucky it's early AM Sunday & I'm bored right now.

thanks for reply
hey i dont wont to flash the entire rom...just only the kernel.........
hey suggest me a best custom kernel for stock jb rom for gaming and fluidity........

Good luck finding just a stock kernel, if you want stock, flash the entire rom. It's the same thing anyway & won't wipe your phone if that's what you're afraid of.
Rom/kernel recommendations are forbidden here, mods will close your thread if you persist with that one. Go to the two development sections, read some threads, try some kernels.

[Q] ROM

Hi,
Can anybody tell me if i root my s2 (currently on KF3 firmware) with cf method and flash stock kernel, will i be able to install new ROMS like litening etc,how ?, and will i be able to come back to my stock firmware and kernel, and how ?
thanks in advance !
You can flash any Custom firmware anytime, without root. And you can go back to Stock firmware and kernel anytime.
Regards.
so if i root(by a method you earlier told me),can i also use any rom on that ?if yes then how and also can you please tell me how to come back to stock rom(before flashing with custom rom) state ?
You just need to add the .tar file of the Custom firmware in PDA section of Odin and flash, same for Stock ROM.
Regards.
you can root your phone as ihappy said but use the threads on the forums to find the stock kernels and roms that suit you. and i mean by what region you at. most of the custom roms come with root anyway so i would not worry about rooting. the thing is though whenever you do flash always make backup. first time i flashed i did not do backup and i was panicking on how to go back to stock.but thankfully the guys in this community are the best around and helped me out. hope my post helped in anyway

help with my new s2

i am from galaxy mini forum so get a galaxy s2 but how to know if it is S2 or S2 GT-i9100 o and what the diffirence?? and can you gays pleas link me to a tut aboug instaling costome recovery, which ODIN to use and so on .... last thing which is the best stable rom to use .....thanks in advance
1) Check the sticker on the phone chassis under the battery.
2) Differences between SGS2 variants ? Wikipedia.
3) Just about everything you need to know to get you started is in the Stickies.
4) There's no such thing as the "best stable rom to use". There are a heap of custom roms for the SGS2, it's an individual preference thing. And because no two people use their phone the same way or have it setup the same, and because component-wise no two phones come out of the factory exactly the same, your experience with a particular rom will most likely vary from mine.
The best thing to do is to get your phone rooted, preferably with CWM installed. This will enable you to backup, restore & flash roms/kernels in a matter of minutes. You can than try a bunch of roms for yourself. If you find you don't like a rom you try, it's easy to go back to your previous setup easily by restoring a backup; recommended regularly/before you flash anything to your phone.
ok so by flashing cwm and then a costom rom the divise will root by it self and do i have to flash a stock ics rom to install a costom ics rom??????
Lackchoo,
Flash one of Chainfire's kernels. His instructions are very clear. That will give you root and CWM, and possibly also a yellow triangle at startup which you shouldn't worry about at all.
You don't need to flash a stock ICS ROM to flash a custom ROM. After rooted, in CWM, just install the downloaded ZIP ROM file of the custom ROM. You will keep root and triangle will go away.
Ditto what the above person said about ROM's. However, you can try Cyanogen (Do a 'stable' release, not a 'nightly'), its the most 'popular' ROM in terms of numbers. One can't and shouldn't say which one is best. But for a newbie, I think Cyanogen is a good place to start. Perhaps it will give you the least issues and the most 'oohs!' for your initial newbie effort
I don't have the links with me from the smart phone, but just search 'chainfire kernel root galaxy s2' and 'cyanogen galaxy s2' and you should find the relevant thread. Read it slowly and repeatedly! I know I had to

Recovery mode unable to unpack custon ROM .zip files

hello,
i have been unable to install custom ROMs on my galaxy s2, various forums indicate the installation took place but in my own case the installation process stops when ever the kernel is trying to unpack the .zip file in order to commence installation. i have followed the step by step procedures of the devs but still havent been able to. especially resurrection and batista. are there any prerequisites i need to follow. i am currently using a rooted SGS2, kernel cf-root 5.2, stockROM XXLPH 4.0.3. thnks much.
i am not an expert when it comes to resurrection or batista, but i believe that some newer roms need at least the cwm recovery that comes with cf-root 5.4 or above, so maybe you should flash a newer stock rom with a corresponding newer cf-root to begin flashing.
or, if you want, you could flash the latest siyah kernel through odin, which is compatible with both stock and aosp/aokp roms and have a nice new touch recovery that is certainly able to flash all roms as well.
also, a problem is also a question and this thread belongs in the q&a section. reported. this time someone will move it for you, in the future, please post in the correct section in the first place, for reference have a look at the thread Questions belong in Q&A.
thank you for the response. kindly advice on what stable stock roms i could try. cus i believe i have also tried with a 5.3 but still same.
just also tried the F1 nexus rom still same. maybe i need to take the S2 back to factory, like repartitioning and all, pls what do you advice cus i think something behind has been messed up.
i also noticed something, when i flash with a stock ROM, the fone reboots into the android sytem recovery and i get an error "dst read(I/0 error)". please what does this mean.
please can someone help , i can only flash ROM's through ODIN, but cannot install zip files through recovery. recovery never unpacks the files and all ROM's come as zip files. please help

1)u will find the latest available Indian stock firmware at www.sammobile.com.
2) never ask for which is the Best Rom/Kernel/Modem, since its against the rule of XDA for now
3) as a senior member u should have been aware of the same, in case u have missed it see the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612881

i just want to know latest Indian version for s2.
Thanks again for remind me my duty
Go to Samfirmware, use the pulldown boxes to get the latest firmware for your carrier/country (or just your country), flash it with Odin. Done. If you have problems with Odin, do a Google search for 'Windoze I9100'.
man i am stuck with hotfile link...
i downloaded it 4 times everytime it stuck in the middle i am still in the starting
no mirror forI9100XWLST_I9100ODDLSE_INU.zip

Unfortunately you're stuck with wherever Samfirmware host their files like everyone else. Try it from another internet connection/internet cafe if you need to.
You can find jb ROMs mirrors posted at the official jb thread.
Sent from...this is not even my S2
India there too. Sofos a top man for doing this thread. Stock but with all the rooted goodness

[Q] Regarding Sudden Death

Well hereĀ“s what has been played out the latest couple of days...
I got myselfe a used S3 that was rooted and had Wanamlite ROM with the enclosed kernel flashed. I felt it was rather choppy and laggy so I flashed one of the prerooted ME7 found on XDA.
However that did not help a bit and on top of all the choppyness and the freezez I also got really poor batterylife.
So... I got some help in another thread to unroot and flashing the stock ROM with ODIN. After that the phone has been working as it should... no lagging and no freezes. Although I have the damned chip that causes the "Sudden Death" the factory reset seems to have done the job. But... WHY? Both WanamLite uses the stock kernel (right?) and the ME7 that I tried also uses the stock kernel... How is it that the "sudden Death-syndrom" disappeared after unrooting and reflashing stock?
Now to my question... a question that has been answered a thousand times before. Is it Worth to install a custom ROM with the new leaked firmware? I would really like it to be a custom version of the "official" ME7... prerooted and tweaked for best batterylife.
Any hints what to choose? Besides not getting root, perhaps the best choise would be to flash the unrooted "leaked" untouched ME7 with ODIN?
Any input would be nice!

Suggest you stick with stock and read up .

Thanx for the answers.... but you missed the point!
Witch ROM is the best is not all that important... the question is rather if my experience of the "sudden death syndrom" will perhaps return if I flash other than stock ROM.
Also... the other question was IF I want the ME7 leak... is it better to stick to the stock untouched one or a custom one, regarding batterylife and smoothness.
For a start you didn't have sds or you wouldn't still be using your phone....poor setup/corrupt data most likely cause.
If you want advice on Roms go and read the relevant threads

No i did not miss the point .
One you need to read the basics and two ( one, regarding batterylife and smoothness.) is classed as what rom best rom .
The answer is its subjective and for you to decide on what rom .
