You should definitely update your firmware to either MJ4 or NAB. NAB would be preferable considering you're running 4.4.2. (How did you get that installed on such old firmware?)
The hotspot mod for kitkat can be found in this thread.

This thread has links to both.
I have to ask. Do you put any effort at all in looking for these things yourself, or just post and expect others to spoonfeed you the information? XDA is an incredible resource which can help you learn, but only if you are willing to put forth some effort of your own.
Yeah I do y

Is the thanks button working anymore?? Nothing bothers people more than not using it. I see tons of helpful post and no thanks. Show some love people and thank people, even if they are wrong.

Why does virtual kudos mean so much to you? If you were appreciated I'm sure a simple thanks in a reply is sufficient enough to satisfy most. Don't get wrapped up in who has a bigger thanks stick. Doesnt look good...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
The OP isn't wrong to see that measure of gratitude. It may not mean anything to you but you shouldn't get down on him for it. Since the xda site provides for this, I'm thinking many people value it, including the xda developers.

I like the thanks button. It lets me know the person that is responding to posts should know what they are doing and the more thanks they have the more I am apt to trust their knowledge.
I do believe the OP has made his point and so that, the winds do not carry this any farther, I will be the Fire-Man. Thank You and ....
Hi everyone,
This is a simple (root) app I made to let you change your CSC on a number of firmwares across multiple Samsung devices. Simply push the button, and you will be sent to the list of CSC codes, where you can choose whatever CSC. Credits go to Perka, who thought of this and posted the method in this thread. I merely made an app to do it.
THIS WILL WIPE YOUR PHONE, LIKE PERFORMING A FACTORY RESET. MAKE BACKUPS OF WHATEVER YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE.
The files on your SD Card will not be touched.

This. Don't know why, but Samsung requested it be that way . Shouldn't be too much trouble, with TB and all.

Can someone on *OTA Stock* 2.04 (NOT from a flashed ZIP) please tell me your file size for BackupRestoreConfirmation.apk in /system/app? I am trying to apply parts of the new OTA released today but I'm getting mismatches on this file and the install is failing. I used MicroMod777's "stock" ROM but I'm wondering if something isn't quite right with it. I noticed in a few other ROMs based off 2.04 that the file size doesn't match.
Can this be checked from a non-rooted phone? I'd help you out, but obviously don't have access to /system.

I'm honestly not certain if /system/app is readable on our phones without root. The first thing I did was root my phone when I got it. If you can browse into there, you can likely see the file size.
There you go!

That worked. Can you get me a byte count on InputDevices.apk? That's the second one in the script that is now also failing. Looks like this "stock" 2.04 ROM isn't actually as stock as it should be. Going to have to take this up in that thread I think once you let me know the file size on this other one. Just curious whether it's one byte off, too.
Here the byte size for them.

Hi I'm trying to test my wifi security and am wondering if anyone knows of a working app with the sprint note 3 rooted. I ask because my computer is out of commission right now and learning this for my phone would be a cool thing also. Love to learn what new things my awesome gadgets can do lol.

Try dsploit
Better yet install Kali if there is an arm distro if not then the last build of back track. You can Google how. But u would need a specific OTG WiFi radio/chip set to make full use of it, AFAIK.

Go to this rom thread on the AT&T forum, scroll down to addons, grab one of the four volume mod choices especially for KitKat, and provides the same options as Jellybean, it's just a different file edit.
I suggest that you do not flash, but push the file and setting permissions. I've found that anything above the slight mod is just distortion, but your experience may vary.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48655023
Or you can unzip the file moderate lite file linked here (backing up the original first),
https://www.dropbox.com/s/k2za31snhshur4q/moderate lite (inlcuded already in rom).zip
Thank the dev whilst over in the AT&T forums.
Hope this helps.

Uhm, those are KitKat-specific. The files I linked are specifically for KitKat 4.4.2 TouchWiz, and I happen to be using them right now.
Please go visit the thread to which I linked and try them. They work.

Most definitely, I'm on freeza's stock DeOdex KitKat rom.
The rom I linked is called KnoxRaid, those files are in the OP, and it clearly states that it is the only AT&T KitKat TouchWiz rom.
Note: That mixer mod involves a trade-off; the radio no longer outputs to speakers
