There is no way to root kitkat 4.4.2 at the moment...only way is to go back to 4.2.2 and root than flash the recovery than flash the kitkat rom with the root....

Easiest way is unlock bootloader and flash custom kernel. Via flashtoolas the custom kernels are prerooted. no need to downgrade

Man, rooting with locked bl is also simple.
Plus, Unlocking bl is not the best and safe way to root.
You shouldn't advice anyone to unlock bl, it is a personal choice.
Beside The user must understand the consequences.
you won't be happy if someone blamed you for messing up his device.
Hope you understand this

Hello,
I was wondering, can I upgrade to 5.1.1 if I unroot my 4.4.4? I removed kingroot with super-sume, worked great, but since I had rooted my phone, it won't let me update.
Thanks in advance.
Did you ever figure it out?
