Now that I've gone Carbon, obviously I can't use the stock camera, or the modded one that xdabbeb created.
What camera app are you finding works best with the G2? I feel like the stock camera is a let down.
The lenovo camera works well.

Hi, I have a SGS3, but I'm loving AOSP roms since my SGS2, i'm still on SAMMY roms only for the awesome camera app feautres that I don't want to lose...
so i'm asking to aosp users...do you have a good replacement (with HDR, somethingsimilarto best shot..) for stock camera app? 'cause i don't like very much aosp camera
Have a look at this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746611
It's frequently updated with s3 camera app features. It already got burst mode, take pics while recording video and ISO control.
Use HDR camera from play store for HDR pics.
i'm looking for one that does NOT replace my default camera from my aosp rom.
prefer to have 2 separate camera app,
currently i'm using the 4.2 photosphere cam, i flash it from a zip with aroma installer, it creates another camera & gallery app, and i can retain my original aosp camera from any rom i use.
it is said that the 4.3 photosphere is much better at stitching and better exposure control.
i want to try it, but without losing my original camera.
so far all the ones that i found must replace the original camera app to function on aosp rom.
Could you help me with these questions? (I would like to use 4.4 custom rom but do not know how good the camera apps there)
1.How good is camera apps (Google stock camera??) on the 4.4 custom roms in comparison with Sony stock camera app? (My phone is xperia mini).
2.Is it possible to have the Sony camera app on custom roms?
3. Is there any camera app (on google play store) which could be at the same level with the Sony stock camera app?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for your clear answer :good:
Hmmm...there a lot of 3rd party camera out there that can work as good as stock ICS camera on our devices....you just have to figure out and tested all of them to know which one is better....
in CM11, they use Slim rom camera that work better then what we have in JB rom....the only thing that it lack is maybe HD recording which is base on custom kernel we use in our rom....
i'm currently using PAC 4.4.2 rom and i gotta say camera in that rom is a good as you can get but if you are not satisfied with it then you can use Camera 360 for taking picture and Camera MX for video recording....don't use Perfectly Clear cause that camera work better on devices that have higher ram than 512mb....

Has anyone implemented a good camera app for nine stock based roms?
By good I mean including slow motion recording and ultra HD?
I've searched and searched and cannot find one?
I assume from the lack of response that the answer is no?!
I dont know about an app for it but i can say the aosp roms camera quality is lower the stock based roms. that could be why those features are missing, as they dont have native camera access... search google for any aosp camera apps, universal ones might work...

Yeah. I agree. The quality from aosp roms is not as good. I've switched to a stock based ROM solely for the camera. But the stock based roms seem to deteriorate with time as the device gets more and more used and full.
All the camera apps I've tried I sent compared.
But I got this phone for the alleged excellent t camera!

This works well on AOSP ROMS.

Is the quality better than with the stock aosp camera apps?
To be honest, i don't know, i don't really use the camera that much. The app has some nice options though.
But reading again i don't think it does what you asked.

Would someone be so kind as to post a method in which CM users can use the stock TW camera from an S5 or S6? Thank you in advance!
This would be pretty tricky as would need the TW Framework and a lot of edits to the system I believe. Not sure it has ever been done on any Samsung device.
its impossible.
use Lenovo camera not bad
I found a solution for this, use OPEN CAMERA, it's free, allows you to use it like a stock camera, you can film 4k, and the focus or autofocus, and quality of details are the same as stock s5 camera.
You cant use Selective Focus or HDR like the stock s5 camera.
Would happily pay $20 if someone ported the TW camera...
Thanks guys, I'll try that Open Camera a try and test out any others I find along the way
I was also looking for a camera app which would be as good as the Samsung stock camera. So far, I've been using Camera MX and Camera 360 Ultimate (for filters and effects).
Search for the HTC Camera Port or Lenovo Super Camera
